this was the absolute worst experience ever! I appointment in August did not receive my contacts until 3 1/2 weeks after my appointment and the customer service was just horrific. The wait time is something I would expect in a Third World country. Everyone sitting waiting for their was so aggravated and I have been there three times and her witnessed the same exact poor unorganized unbothered staff. I would not recommend coming here for any reason be excited about the pricing because I can assure will go home completely unsatisfied. Was not greeted when I walked in. Come to find out the women at the front desk were the ones doing the exams. They decided to walk away instead of checking me in or saying someone else would be with me shortly. I decided to look at the glasses along the walls because the gentlemen was busy with a customer. Two other women walked in and before checking me in he decided to take care of the two women who walked in after me and said he'd be "right with me." This has been such a slow and drawn out experience for essentially no reason. It is more than clear the staff does not want to be here. There is no customer service here. Find a different location or a completely different eye doctor. I've been using americas best since 2018 in Arizona as well as the Scranton Pennsylvania location but this has been the worst experience I've had with this company. read more

Surprised at the negative reviews. I've come here since they opened YEARS ago and never had an issue. I schedule my appts ahead of time, never have I ever had to wait and I've been satisfied with the contacts AND glasses I bought... every time. The staff has always been nice and helpful. read more

They messed up my eye where the contact sctrached my cornea and had to go to the er plus they didn't want to help me until Tuesday I would recommend no going to them they don't help you there and than they just ignore you when you tell them that you had an issue when you are they they just brush you off read more

I have been here twice and received terrible customer service both times. The first time, I gave them my prescription and they had me wait half hour for assistance. There was only one person helping a customer as they walked around for frames while another customer waited at a table. Then they sat me at a table but for some reason, skipped me and helped someone who came after me. I was fed up and told them to erase my information and left. The second time, my father and I went in 25 minutes before closing to check out frames. The African-American heavyset guy with glasses was rude to my father. He wasn't helpful at all and kept avoiding my dad's questions. He was also dismissive towards me and seemed annoyed as if he hates his job. Don't work in the customer service industry if you hate people. At least the young lady in the front named Angi was nice to us. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Been coming here for years. Always been serviced quickly and with utmost professionalism. The optometrist Dr Maduemezia is amazing and very conscientious answering any questions I had regarding my prescriptions for my glasses and my contact lenses. Great eye exam but the staff in the front are rude. The girl (Nia) who has answered the phone every time I've called is short and clearly doesn't want to be working there. Terrible customer service. I live in Bethlehem and have been going to their Allentown location for a few years...always great service there btw! I decided go to this location since it was closed...Regretting my decision on that. Weird vibe in their nobody communicates. I finished with my Dr. and she brings me to the sink and tells me I can put my contacts back on I turn around and she's completely gone a second after. I'm standing there like am I done? I finally go to the front desk and the receptionist tells me I can have a seat and someone will be right with me. Older gentlemen finally comes over to help me...then he answers the phone and gets stuck on there for a good 5 minutes. Keep in mind when he first sat down I said I'm just here for my exam I'm not purchasing my contacts today. He then gets up and walks away without saying anything. All of a sudden I see him helping another employees customer. I'm fuming at this point but I sit and wait patiently. He comes back and then leaves again. When he comes back he says to me "He's really busy" talking about his co-worker. In his way back I gave him a look that let him know I am now mad and about to say something. He comes and finishes up with me. I asked him for a copy of my Rx which wasn't in the paperwork when I got home. I've been a member for years and have never had an experience like this with America's Best Employees. Not sure what's up with this location but I will never go here again...I'll stick to the Allentown location. When to American best Eye glasses and contacts started off bad experience up my classes 3 weeks ago gave me the wrong lenses went back on Thursday to pick up my new lenses and just had a very bad experience with incompetent people end up yelling at a couple people who work there because they did not know what they were doing the person will come to save the day was the general manager who knew exactly what to do and fix my experience I was not to go back ever again until I dealt with the general manager he turned my bad experience around I'm glad to see somebody knows what they're doing there there should be a little bit more retraining and I know it was a long day they had but they should know the difference between a customer and the glasses they brought into get a replace then expected the customer to do his own lenses so I will be going back hopefully the next time I have a lot better experience but I cannot see enough about that general manager and a great job he did read more

Doctors are quite good but the majority of the staff is inattentive to guests. You walk in and they appear to be annoyed that you are there.

I ordered glasses on Oct 2021 from the Bethlehem store. From frames that were too small, lens that were not tinted, then too small for the frame. Every possible opportunity to mishandle the order was taken. Poor customer service and inept work, have ensured that I will not be returning to this business. Apologies only count for so much. The worst. Took my son here for an exam and glasses. The optometrist who measured his vision seemed fine, but everything else was terrible. The optician was not knowledgeable about the different lens options, did not measure his PD or mark the lenses for centering, and was generally rude. I asked for someone else to help us and we did order glasses but when they arrived they were not the frames he had chosen. We returned them and my copayment was refunded. I was told his vision benefits would also be refunded but a month has passed and the insurer has not record that the refund was submitted. I'm now on hold with the managed care department trying to figure it out. This has been a huge waste of my time and school has started with no new glasses. Avoid this store. read more

No good go somewhere else... I will say this know your insurance BEFORE you walk in the door because they won't and they will use any loophole they can find in your insurance to charge you and blame the insurance company. The manager I spoke to was rude and condescending in the store. He kept blaming the insurance company and saying it was there fault. Little did he know that I sold insurance for a living and know my benefits. The doctor asked if I liked the contact I was using I said yes that my eyes get a little dry but I can manage. She said ohh that's "old technology" I will give you a "free" trial of this pair then you can come back for a "free" ( there's that word free again) follow up next week and we will order them... I said okay. Only to realize they where billing it to the insurance but my plan doesn't cover that in my general exam so "free" turned into $34.00 extra. Called customer service and got another rude and unprofessional woman on the phone. She again blamed the insurance and gave me serious attitude until I said I know my benefits and sell insurance then her tone changed very quickly. Still saying it is the insurance and not them. I said why was I not told that up front? Why offer me all this stuff only to then charge me for it once it's done and I have no option.. Pathetic...Save your time and money go elsewhere. I only moved to the area less than a year ago, and I have not been extremely happy with businesses in the area. However, this particular America's Best is a gem, specifically because of its employees. I want to mention by name the three beautiful people who were key to the rare 5 stars. Yolanda welcomed my family and delighted my toddler with kindness. She also led us to Jennifer when I had difficult questions about insurance. Jennifer, the contacts manager who was so very helpful. She was not interested in selling me something, but making sure I understood what I was getting and if it benefited me. She also followed up before I left to make sure I was satisfied with the service. Jesika handled my wife's glasses selection, processing of benefits and payment. She was very nice and helpful. She also was concerned with making sure that we had exactly what we wanted and needed. I would drive a good distance, passing any other store for optometry to get to this group. I highly recommend America's Best, and even more so this location. read more

The prices are unbeatable. I received two pairs of glasses, exams for the next three years and contacts for $157.00. Last year I received two pairs of glasses at VisionWorks an an exam for almost $400.00 using their best special and a coupon. America's Best is seriously the best. Dr Kim-great, took her time to examine my eyes and discuss options. Only negative on her is she said outloud that she would have thought I needed 2.0 for my reading glasses because of my age. Um. The office pulled my records from FL which is great. When they called to say my glasses were in the call was to my daughter's number, still in FL. When I called and spoke to Tammy to explain the number was wrong she insisted that was the number on my file and I did not update it - thumbs down to customer service on that. Wouldn't it have been easier to say - opps, let's update that for you, instead she made it my fault. What would have happened had it not been my daughter's number? I wonder. Otherwise, nice selection and quick turnaround. I would suggest some customer service training. read more

I went in the store with my brother for him to get an exam and I was asked to leave because they were at "maximum capacity", meanwhile their were only 2 customers in the store and there was nothing posted on the door specifying anything about store capacity. But I leave, and seen someone come out of the store. So I go inside to wait, due to me sweating n it being so hot out and my car A/C doesn't work, and was asked to leave again, but from another employee. She asks if I had an appointment or needed assistance. N I tell her I'm waiting for my brother and then she tells me to wait outside. Obviously they were not at maximum capacity and just wanted me to wait outside, it was really hot out n they were not at maximum capacity. They just like to beat around the bush instead of telling me not to be in the store, even if I was waiting for my brother. Even though I was also looking around cause I wanted to know the prices for the Rayban Prescription Frames. it just seems inconsiderate. Definitely will not be buying anything from them EVER if thats how they treat people. And It took my brother over an hour just to get the exam. Smh, they're the worst. America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses - Optometrists Near Me - Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

My glasses arrived and I couldn't read with them. I wear progressive lenses and the area for reading was so small that I couldn't read with them. That was the first problem. I also wear contacts. I brought my old prescription so that the doctor could use as a reference. When I got the contacts I couldn't see with them. I noticed that the "new" prescription was a lesser strength prescription than my old one. I went back to the store to address both issues. The general manager tried bending the frames to the glasses to correct for reading even though a moron would know that the lenses needed to be remeasured and replaced. After trying to bend the frames a couple of times he remeasured and ordered new lenses. Now to the contacts. The GM in not so many words basically told me that I'm the one who gave the doctor the "numbers".... "Is it 1 or 2".. during the exam. So I guess it was my fault that the doctor got the script wrong. I told the GM that I would not be returning for another contact exam and will be going somewhere else. My glasses may take another 2 weeks to get. So now it will be over a month without glasses that cost close to $500. I will never go back to this store again. Terrible experience. read more
