Let me first start with a shout out to Oz for being a serious hero last Saturday during one loooooooong family road trip to a birthday party where our rear tire sprung a leak halfway there. What should have been a 3 hour trip stretched to 7.5 hours thanks to traffic and having to pull over ever 45 minutes to add more air to our tire before putting on the spare. We called several tire shops from Gilroy to Greenfield looking for someone that could repair our tire so we could safely make the trek into the hills for the birthday party we were now seriously late for and so we could turn around and get back home. Everyone was either too busy or closed until we called America's Tire in Salinas. After hearing our predicament, the person on the phone assured us they could help us, but also informed us there was a closer branch to us in Gilroy. We let him know we had already tried and they told us they were too busy to help. He then said, "Seriously? Wow, then by all means, come to our shop and we will take care of you." And they did. This shop was also very busy when we arrived, but gave us credit for the call in as a bit of an informal reservation and saw us right away. Oz checked out our tire and said it wasn't really worth repairing as the treads were getting dangerously low (something our car dealership neglected to inform us at our last regular service a month ago, AHEM) and then checked all of our tires and said the same for them all. Total replacement was recommended. We were worried about how long that would take as the original plan was to drop off the punctured tire, go to the party and send my husband back to pick up the repaired tire after dropping us off an hour away. Oz said that was a crazy waste of our time and quarterback'ed us into a bay to get all four tires replaced in less than 30 minutes. Our hero! Seriously, the customer service was so amazing that I would recommend this place to everyone local. These guys never cease to impress. I had a last-minute need to purchase a couple of new tires ahead of a road trip. With no appointment and a small window of time before needing to be at work, I showed up about 15 minutes before they opened hoping to get in and out as quickly as possible. Had a small leak back left tire. They inspected tire, which has 2 small holes. They stated that because holes are too close to each other, they are not able to patch. They said I would have to purchase a new tire. But what they did not know I brought extra tire with me because this was not the first time this had happened with them. They got me the first time. Again, because I did not purchase an additional warranty per tire. Which is between $30-$ 40. It's a shame. Service is on point, but when $$ driven. You will lose loyalty from your customers. New set was going to come out to $600, much more than I expected, but the employee who was helping me double checked and noticed my old set wore out before reaching the "guaranteed" mileage i put on them - putting credit toward my new set. My new set came out to only $300 for good quality tires! I'm really glad this employee took the time to give me the best customer service he could - I believe his name was Ozias. Thank you! OUTSTANDING SERVICE! I was on my way up to Santa Barbara from the bay area when my 'check tire pressure' light comes up unexpectedly. It was absolutely startling! I was quick to yelp and find a tire shop nearby - AMERICA'S TIRES was about 2 miles from where I was on the 101. Jumped off the highway and made my way as fast (and as safely) as I could. Within minutes I had a mechanic checking all four tires and showing me how to reset the indicator light. Funny thing is I'd just had a flat replaced at a competing tire store YESTERDAY. Oh, 'they're' definitely going to get a review as well. Anyway, ANGEL (the associate who'd assisted us), was so helpful. He explained that even when the tires have too much air that the indicator would also present itself (and it appeared that they were in fact over the amount they should have been). He was so reassuring! We were able to make it to our destination without any major problem. Also, this was a free service. They did not charge us just for checking. This was my first time using this location since my usually America's tire in Millbrae is always backed up a few weeks. Since I was in the area, I was able to schedule an appointment online the same day. The service requested was a tire rotation and balance for my tesla model 3. It took about an 1 hour and 15 minutes to be done. The techs and employees were very helpful and I would recommend this shop anytime. I ordered some tires for my 1971 c10 and was told it would be about 2 weeks for them to come in. After 2 weeks I called and they got my rear tire in but not the fronts. I told him I'd call back in a week to see if they were in and he said that would be perfect. I called today to find out they canceled my whole order , claiming I said I could not wait for the tires . Needed the tires for a show next weekend and now I'm left without tires for my truck. I will never go back! They lost a customer. Tire rack said I could have my tires here tomorrow. My husband went in 3 months ago at the very end of March and purchased 4 brand new tires as well as the warranty for the tires. Fast forward to this month of July. Our 2 front tires are completely bald on the inside and are showing the silver lining already. My husband went in to a different location and was told that the tire warranty does not cover tire wear and tear due to alignment issues. It says on the Americas Tire website that select locations, including Salinas offers a free tire alignment check which was clearly not done on our vehicle or we would have purchased the service to align the tires had we known it was even an issue. Nor was the service even offered to us. So over the course of 3 months we spent over $1300 on tires unnecessarily. I called the Salinas location and was only offered an apology, but was told there was nothing that they could do. We have never had any issues in the past until now. I'm extremely upset and disappointed because of the carelessness and negligence of the employee/s who helped us in Salinas back in March who did not do their due diligence or offer the free alignment check which resulted in us spending over $500 on 2 brand new tires and a new warranty for the new tires within 3 months of purchasing new ones. If you go to Americas tires you need to be your own advocate and not trust the "professionals" who are trained and get paid to service your car. I have attached a photo of one of our tires. As you can see it's a completely brand new tire aside from the alignment damage. I'd recommend going elsewhere to a company who cares about their customers and or is more knowledgeable and offers more than an apology when the negligence of their own employees costs you over $500. An apology doesn't fix the issue and with inflation as it is, not many families I know can even replace their tires for the first time let alone afford to replace them for a second time within 3 months of buying tires read more

Great staff but they have the stupidest fuckin policy. I came in to patch my tire, after waiting forever they tell me they won't patch it because it has already been patched. Ridiculous. Claimed "safety" reason which I could careless about, all I wanted was to get it patched. If the owner is asking to patch it, just patch it! We know damn well it is not that big of a safety issue. BS! UPDATE: I took it to a different tire shop; Castroville Tires and they patched it up with no issue. They even said the patch that America tire was complaining about is so little. Called to see if they had an opening due to the fact one of my front tires split open on the tread to the final layer so it was vibrating like crazy. The person who answered the phone was very helpful and wonderful, the experience was great super fast and easy if you know what you want already. Hence not a 1-star review. Now for the reason for the bad review, I had my tires done a week ago can provide a receipt if anybody really needs proof. I noticed on highways after 70mph - 74mph I would feel a slight vibration that shook the whole car so I took it into Toyota. They took the wheels off one by one and they showed me the problem, EACH WHEEL WAS OUT OF BALANCE like they didn't even balance it at all in the first place. Both front tires were out by .75, passenger rear was out by .50, and driver rear was out by .25. I mean I understand if it was just one of my wheels but all four?!!?!?!? Whoever worked on my 2014 Prius never balanced the wheels causing it to have vibrations at highway speeds. Now my car is fixed after spending more money on diag and rebalancing all 4 wheels. SO if you ever get your tires replaced and the car has vibrations on highway speeds now you know, take it back to them and have them do the wheel balancing on all 4 since you already PAID for the service to begin with... I'm hoping the tire techs will read this and get their shit together and stop being lazy so they can do it right the first time unless they like having comebacks. read more
