First time to an America's Tires and I'm glad I stopped by! I had tire pressure issues and decided to bring it in to the West Covina location instead of the one in Puente Hills. They take walk ins and I was greeted by John. Super friendly guy. He helped checked out my tire and found that there was a bolt in it. Processed some paper work and my vehicle was completed before their quoted time. Best part? It's FREE. I was surprised but good marketing move here. If I ever need tires, I know where to go now instead of Costco. Read online that they price match for tires so I'll try it out when it's time to get new ones. I stopped by the America's Tire in West Covina because I got a service light in my car for low tire pressure. All the staff was polite and incredibly helpful. They promptly repaired my tire and did it feee of charge. I did not know this level of service or still available, but American Tire when above and beyond. This review is for patching a nail hole in my tire that was repairable. From phone call to finish, everything was a smooth and worry free experience. I called to verify that the service was free and they confirmed. I was going there right before closing and they said as long as i am okay with waiting, I could get my tire patched. When I got there, John, Joshua, and Milan helped me out. John did the initial inspection. Professional, helpful, and courteous. And he gave me an accurate time for the completion of service. When the service was completed, Joshua came to get me. Once again, professional, helpful, and courteous. Re-iterated that e service was free and all my tires checked out well. Milan was the person to complete the full service. As I left, they forgot to reset the TPMS notification on my car and Joshua promptly assisted me with clearing it. Simple service, cut and paste. But it says a lot when people are courteous and professional the entire way through especially when I have a rbf when talking to them... I'm sorry it just happens. Came in for a simple diagnostic after hitting a pothole and was willing to pay for the diagnostic that would lead to what repairs needed to be done so I can pay for those too. We drive between SGV and AZ regularly. The roughly 500 mile round trip has taken its toll on the 3 Yokohama CTX's and the OEM Yokohama Avid that were on our van. A nail smack dab in the center of the Avid was enough incentive for me to swap all 4 for 4 new Falken Pro G5 CSV's. I wanted long wearing with good traction. These were 60k mile rated shoes with Traction A ratings. Given that my OEM' lasted 60k, but the CTX's only 35k, made me look elsewhere. My RAM 1500 had Falken Wildpeaks that rode smoothly, quietly and had really good traction, so given the deal I got on these made it a no brainer. The van rides smoothly and very quietly. Even my 6 year old, who usually has his head buried in his tablet, said the van was so quiet he didn't have to "make it louder..." Getting an appointment was super easy and quick using their app and we selected the time that fit with our schedule. Having all 3 boys in toe meant that keeping them entrained was going to be an issue if the wait was long. There were plenty of seats and we only waited about 5 minutes in line before we were helped. I forgot my America's Tire card, but they looked up my account quickly and gave me my 5% discount. I was told it would be about 45 minutes. Looking around, there was a McDonald's across the street, so my older boys stayed at the shop reading Harry Potter (for school) and doing homework while my 6 year old went with me to get the food. We weren't even done eating our food on the counter at America's Tire when the van was brought up and we were ready to go. My little one wanted to wait and watch some more tires being changed and to finish his cheeseburger and fries but we had to go. My other son, who was reading HP was amazed we were already leaving. All of us commented that it was super quick. I'll always come back to America's Tire when I'm in Cali and Discount when I'm in AZ. I dropped $2k on brand new tires and they chipped one of my rims! So why am I giving a 5-Star review? Because of the manager, Alec. It was a busy & rainy week, so when I realized what had happened a few days later, I couldn't sleep. I stormed in first thing on Saturday morning, ready to present my case as to what happened. Unfortunately I've had bad luck in the past with these things, so I took before & after pictures in the parking lot and had evidence. But....none of this was needed. As soon as I walked in, I told Alec what happened and he immediately said: "So sorry about that. Let's go take a look." There was no defense of denial on his part -- he believed me and understood what I must be feeling. On one rim, he explained there was excess rubber from the install that looked like a scratch, so he wiped it off. On the chipped rim, he immediately said, "That was us. So sorry about that," and gave me options for repair. However, I wanted it fixed by a rim shop I had talked to before, and Alec happened to be one of their tire suppliers, so he said he'll contact them but I should call them too to make sure it's what I want. Dealing with the repair was seamless because Alec coordinated it all and America's Tire picked up the tab. Look, obviously I wish my rim was never chipped in the first place (according to BMW, a new one costs almost $2k itself!), but things like this happen at EVERY shop. The important thing was the ownership that Alec took and the fact that he very much wanted to resolve the issue ASAP with as little of a hassle to me as possible. I once learned that a business relationship begins AFTER the sale, and this example could not be more true. Because of my experience, Alec has earned my forever business in this location as long as he's in charge or his protégés run it and have the same morals. 5/15/24 Needed a wheel alignment on Hubby's sedan for work & the previous business told him, "you need a new tire, buddy!" It was so dangerous (the risk of blowing it was astronomical) that he had to find a place that carried the specific tire he wanted. Luckily he found America's tire that sold it and was able to get an appointment right away. Talk about instantaneous! What's more fortunate is that he got a great price coz they price matched it. It's all about perspective. We could've gone to Costco & gotten it replaced (no charge for installation) but they do not carry the tire he wanted. Plus, we needed it done ASAP. As soon as we pull up, staff came & greeted us, friendly & attentive. We waited for our turn & then took our car away. Next thing I know, it's up on the lift getting worked on. Bam! This shop is located on S. Vincent Ave & Covina Pkwy--across from Big O Tires and several businesses like Pizza Hut, McDonalds, El Pollo Loco, Pho Anvi, Del Taco, dentist, beauty salon, spa/massage place, & laundromat-all within walking distance. That's convenient-if you're stuck waiting you can do chores or find food within a block. And just like that, it's DONE. No muss, no fuss. I've been to this location multiple times over the years with different vehicles to install new tires and to add air with inspection. Highly encourage purchasing and scheduling an appointment online to expedite the service when you arrive for your time-slot, it was nice for them to call and let me know that my tires arrived days earlier and can take me in without an appointment. Service is quick and informative. It was definitely less busy for an 8:15am Appointment. If a tire is back ordered, they may not know for sure when it will be available. Luckily, they do have a large selection that can be shipped to the location. Unfortunately, it appears that the same tires i added to my cart a week before was $152 and a week later, it went up to $172. Not sure why it went up since it was a regular price without a promo. This was the last place that serviced my tires a year ago. I'm now realizing that they never returned my wheel lock key, and they swapped out all my wheel locks with regular lug nuts. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH AMERICAS TIRES! I have been going to Americas Tires for years now primarily closer to where I reside. However this was my first time at this particular location. And the overall interaction I had with an employee named Stephen was the worst. I had a flat tire about 10 miles away on the 10 Freeway. I figured that it just needed a repair/patch. However I was really stressing because this Americas Tires location was the closest and it was closing in 2 hours. I wasn't sure the tow truck would get to us in time. However we barely made it just before closing maybe 5 mins or so. I rushed inside to check in while my tow truck driver was unfastening my car. The only employee at the desk was Stephen. Not sure he even greeted me. I told him the situation. He immediately walked outside. I followed him. He then proceeded to stand at the side of the tow truck just looking at my car. Did not say a word. Was just watching the tow truck driver unfasten my car (I should have taken video as this was really odd). I was explaining my situation further. He did not say anything. Just stood there. Keep in mind I am really stressed at this point because I knew they were closing soon (I was explaining to him how I tried to get there as soon as I could before they closed. He didn't care to hear it. Actually had this look on his face as if to say this is going to keep him later at work.) He then stepped away without saying anything and even my tow truck driver was asking what this guys problem was and if he was ok. My family was waiting in the lobby. They inspected the tire and found that it needed to be replaced and could not be repaired. This stressed me out more because I did not have $ to pay for a new tire which was a quoted at $450. This was the lowest point for me as I did not know what to do, my family is waiting, we may not be able to drive home. No consolation from Stephen. Looked like Stephen just wanted to go home. As I tried to figure out what to do Stephen just went on his phone. No recommendations. Nothing. Just more of the I want to leave already kind of look. I finally managed to pay for the tire on credit cards I had. When service was done my son came from outside to use restroom. I said to meet me outside when done. (I believe) Stephen came running to chase him to bathroom. I stood outside confused as to what was going on. My son immediately came back out and said the employee told him he couldn't use the restroom? ??? I approached another employee and asked what was going on and why they said my son couldn't use the restroom. one person said it's because they are closing. Another person said that they thought my son just came from the street to use the restroom. Overall horrible experience during a stressful situation for me. But specifically toward Stephen who really lacked customer service skills. He really showed that he either doesn't like his job or didn't like me. I got my first flat ever during the rain on my new car and had a trip to Mammoth. Called in before heading out that evening without much hope they'd have time. Guy answered and said yeah we'll get you in and out if you come right now. I full my tire up and head over. Walk in and they said 2hr wait. Wat?! Came back the next week because I didn't have the time. They tell them I'm here for their free flat repair and show them pictures of the puncture and let them know it's in the center of the tread. They do a quick inspection and I ask if they can swap all my lug nuts with the set I have in the back. Also in case they can't repair the puncture I got an extra wheel in the trunk. He said no problem no charge. I was removing all my lug nut covers so it would be easier for them and didn't realize I never gave them my keys. After waiting an hour and looking at their online tracker I realize they're pending my arrival because I still had my keys, oops! Gave them my keys and within 10 minutes they were working on my car. When they were finishing up I see them using a torque wrench to finish tightening all my lug nuts, nice! Get home and see they filled the patched tire to 45 while the others are at 40. Could've matched them all but whatever not a big deal for a free service. Been here before for 4 tires and will come back again for my needs. I bought some tires online since I had some sports performance wheels, kinda like and dislike them at the same time, it gives good performance for sure, but they costs so much for get replacement new tires..anyway, back to this place, America's Tires. The installation of the tires was what I was there for. The price for the installation was okay for me but I wanted to get a reputable change instead of just going anywhere for a tire change. So, I was picking up my tires from another location that I was able to do customer pick up next day. And then I called America's Tire after getting my tires to see if I can squeeze into a time slot; I was told, I can get in about 15 minutes after my requested time, it was an excellent experience over the phone. Once I got to the place, a technician came to my car to ask if they can help, that was great. I told him about my appointment and the tires I brought with me. He took me in and we were able to finish the process of payment for just the installation and then I waited about 30 minutes even though he said it would take an hour. I was sitting at the counter where you can see the garage where the technicians worked, so it was interesting seeing all the tools and skills required to get a tire unmounted, changed, balanced, and remounted. After, a technician drove the car out as they were finished. I was glad it was pretty fast. And was able to be on my way. It was then, when I cleaned the wheels with some micro fiber towel and spray, that I noticed a few dings or bent-in marks taking off some of the paint coating when they changed the tires...I was not happy to see those. Not that I really keep the wheels pristine, but I didn't expect them to ding them like that, but something was amiss that it got damaged like that..hopefully, they get that process fixed so that it doesn't happen to other customers. -------------- After submitting the trouble ticket recommended by Price, the store manager got back to me right away and I was on the schedule to get my wheel repaired. The day that their wheel repair guy came, he was very professional and explained what he needed to do and repair the issue. The overall experience resolving this issue was great.
