Since my husband and two of his colleagues were a work trip their rooms were supposed to be charged to a corporate credit card. Upon check-in they were required to give their personal cards for incidentally, standard procedure for hotels. However this hotel then proceeded to charge the rooms to their personal card. On top of this there was then a random charge for $24 the day my husband checked out. I called and spoke with the manager who was supposed to refund our money and get it straightened out. She proceeded to charge our card an additional 2 times for 2 different amounts. She couldn't explain why they were all different or different from the reservation amount. All in all we were charged almost $1500. The hotel has not made it right and we had to close his credit card to prevent them from charging anymore. The manager was unapologetic about the second charges and insisted she credited the card not debited. It has ended up being a mess and they lost a company account because of this.

Never heard a sound despite being right across from the elevator. Water was hot right away. Temperature in room was very comfortable all night. Breakfast was neat and orderly. All in all, absolutely no complaints. Would stay here anytime. Better yet, I would let my mother stay here.

It was very clean, nicely decorated, and the bed was suuuuuuper comfy! Check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly. The bathroom toilet paper holder was broken and the shower was a little weird when it came to getting the water hot, but it worked just fine. Having never been to a casino before, I learned how to play Blackjack and had a great time! I stayed away from the machines because I didn't really understand how they worked. My ONLY disappointment was that we had to leave the hotel to eat. None of the restaurants were open and I do wish they'd made that clear when we checked it. I understand now that the restaurant isn't open on Mondays and that's fine, but it would've been nice to have that made clear upon check-in. (We drove down the road and ate at Teddy's and it was great.) I enjoyed my time here and would like to come back one day! The whole area is full of beauty and recreation.

The bathrooms are poorly maintained, and the shower curtains won't stay closed, making a simple shower frustrating. The staff seemed unhappy and unwelcoming. Very few employees smiled or made any effort to provide friendly customer service. The food was another major disappointment. The quality was terrible, healthy options were practically nonexistent, and many of the food court restaurants weren't even open during normal meal times, making it difficult to find something to eat. Overall, my entire stay was miserable. Between the poor accommodations, unfriendly staff, and lack of decent dining options, I definitely won't be returning and cannot recommend this property to others.

He made my stay there fabulous and I enjoyed our conversations immensely. Michael also told me all about the amenities: laundry room with coin operated machines, shared kitchen with separate full refrigerators for every occupant to enjoy, massive storage opportunities in each room for extended stays, and where to find delicious food in town if you don't feel like cooking that day. Bring cash to pay for your room and enjoy a unique experience worth repeating at the Broken Spoke Bunkhouse Motel. The owner definitely put some money into this place in order to convert it into a hotel. In each room, you'll find a couple beds and a large TV. Unfortunately, my TV did not work and nobody was around who could help. You also will notice that the staff is the most diverse group you could imagine for rural North Dakota. The staff is primarily high school age students from abroad (So far I've met people from Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Russia, and Indonesia!). They are all very nice, but there are certainly some translation issues as you could guess! In order to check in, you may have to go into the restaurant area and flag someone down. It's not a big deal, but just good to know.T he nightly rate is about $90, which is bit high for the middle of nowhere, ND. The floors are on the thin side and you can hear every step taken in the room above you, so stay on the 2nd floor if you have the chance (there is no elevator though). I also recently discovered that this place has a gym and also a workout room. My personal preference (for the same price) is to stay elsewhere in town, but the Riverdale High Lodge is an OK choice!
