I would not recommend Ameripro funding for first-time home buyers. We worked with Gordon McMaude who was wonderful at securing the loan and was very knowledgeable about the industry. However, his assistant has been awful to work with. She is extremely curt in emails, is not clear with her instructions, takes an exorbitant amount of time to answer any questions, and MISPLACED our financial information. Everything was extremely disorganized and I felt like I was way more stressed out about the application than I should have been. Maaaaaaybe this would have been a little easier if we had been through the process before and knew what was going on, but I don't know. Not sure about the decent amount of negative reviews here, but that being said my experience was pretty good. Bret Williams communicated with me very well, it was usually me whom was calling him back, not the other way around. I worked a lot with his assistant/s and they were both very professional as well. Things got a bit dicey at the end of the week before closing, but it all worked out. If you have any doubt about what is going on, call! It is nearly impossible to get anyone on the phone. Just a voicemail system. They underestimate people's property taxes/escrow to encourage people to buy houses. I was told "Oh look! Your mortgage will only be $1260 a month!" Of course they had lowballed my taxes - estimating them at around $3K when they actually ended up being $5K. So after one year of owning my home, I get a letter saying my $1260 mortgage will be more like $1450. A hike of almost $200/month. Sure you save $3K on closing costs, by using them (through MileStone) but you will definitely be paying that much or more at the end of the year in owed taxes/escrow deficit. They also waited until the absolute LAST MINUTE to send my tax info for 2016. I had already handed all my tax info over to my CPA and he had filed for me, because I assumed that everyone had sent me my tax info by Jan. 31st, and I wanted to get my tax refund back as soon as possible. I am now having to file an amended tax return which will cost me an additional $50, and they probably prevented all their customers from being able to file early this year (which this year is resulting in delayed payments from the government). I had a great experience with Matthew Posey and the Ameripro team. The new Fannie/Freddie requirements were a change of pace for me but Matthew helped every step of the way. When we hit a bump with the insurance at the condo association Matthew explained everything in great detail and worked with the property manager to resolve. read more

I'd give them 3.5 stars.... From a friendly standpoint, they get 5 stars. Carson Vaughan has excellent customer service skills. From a fire hose of paperwork mostly sent for signatures in hopes I'd sign without question, I recommend they be pro-active and explain this very expensive loan process each step of the way... they deal with these documents daily, but most of us do not - so 3 stars.... When they immediately sold the loan to Pingora / Cenlar, I was alarmed because Cenlar (the servicer for my loan) has dreadful reviews online. I feel this also reflects on AmeriPro.... but it remains to be seen if Cenlar's service will be good. read more

Having A Horrible Experience - Run If You Can Unfortunately this company is my builder's preferred lender, so unless I am willing to pay $5,500 out of my pocket to use my lender, I have to endure Ameripro's so far awful service. For example, my loan officer went on vacation before a Fed meeting and possible rate raise, and totally dismissed my request to lock a low rate. The Fed didn't raise the rate, so I dodged a bullet. But I had to endure a week of stress worrying about it, and had the Fed raised rates that vacation could have cost me tens of thousands of dollars over the course of my loan. The officer's assistant said that no one else at Ameripro could help me in the officer's absence. I later found out that that was not the case. I asked her manager to reassign my case over a week ago, and have not been reassigned. And even though I am putting 20% down, I caught a $43 monthly charge for mortgage insurance on my GFE. My builder and I have each requested an explanation, and none has been given. It may seem like a small item, but $43month x 12 mos/year for 30 years matters to me. Like most people, paying $5,500 for the principle of the thing, and going with the outstanding lender I came to the transaction with, is a big sacrifice. But, it may be worth it. Ameripro is ruining what should be a happy occasion and time in my life. In fact, their treatment is giving me misgivings about buying at all. With loans being sent straight from the builder and no work needed to get them, clearly Ameripro doesn't have to care about how it treats mere borrowers. That is pretty sad. read more

I cannot recommend Ameripro Funding as it has been the most unorganized and stressful experience of my life. Nothing about this company is professional or responsible. I am a first time home buyer and in the last 6 months I've been given the run around more times that I can count. In my experience with this company, most employees have no idea how to do their job properly. I believe that this company and it's employees are not properly educated on state and federal regulations. My closing date has been delayed over 5 times bc of the lack of productivity in this company. The employees have poor communication with it's customers and I have caught them in lies about the process along the way. I know I will be expressing my unhappiness with this company for years to come. DO NOT WORK with AMERIPRO. My direct mortgage guy was the only helpful employee and he left ameripro before my file was even closed. read more

Our client chose Matthew Posey with Ameripro for the funding of their new home. It was scheduled to close on Friday, 3/31. The client had to be out of their rental that day. Matthew came up with new changes to the documents that day, and subsequent days, delaying the closing for five more days. The client had a difficult time contacting Matthew to help speed along the closing process. On Wednesday, his manager assured the buyer and seller it would close and fund on Thursday, April 3 but it didn't close until Friday April 4 and didn't fund until the following Tuesday April 8 when the title company had to call up the Ameripro chain to get the funding sent. The client had a one year old baby and was very, very upset with the lack of timely updates, and lack of service that Matthew Posey did not provide delaying the closing for several days. If anyone ever comes to us wanting to buy a home and is using Ameripro we'll tell them to either change loan companies or find another builder. We won't go through another situation like we experienced this past week. Ameripro and Matthew Posey's customer service was atrocious. He was non-communicative and arrogant to the seller, the buyer and the title company. read more
