Sean and his team did above-floor plumbing on our bath addition last winter. They were very competitively priced and did a great job. We have just had problems now with under-floor waste pipes that had been improperly installed by a different plumber where improper "fall" and incorrect T-fittings resulted in back-ups. Sean's team including Channam diagnosed the problem and because of our tight crawlspace full of duct work gave an estimate with a wide range, 1x to 2x. I was amazed at how many other plumbers who couldn't come over in time alteratively recommended i call Amesos. These guys are the plumbers that OTHER plumbers suggest you try. Nico and the rest of the team ere quick to make us a priority. We had just gotten a $8600 bid from another well known San Rafael plumber (who sends a sales person, not a plumber to your home). Something didn't smell right (literally) and so I called around. I'm so glad Nico and the others told me what was actually wrong with my pipes. The issue wasn't even in the house; the tree roots grew into the sewer lateral. For $800, they pulled the roots out, snaked the block, and then told me how to keep it clear myself moving forward. Just don't -- esp. if you're looking at sewer lateral replacement. Out of the 20-some-odd contractors we have dealt with in our remodel, these guys were the only real shysters. My foundation/framing contractor tried to tell me these guys have a rep in the biz for being "a*holes," and I should have listened: I worked all the way to the top, and they are indeed. This is a story much too long for a Yelp review, but it involves them holding captive our grant funds from the Ross Valley sewer lateral replacement program, as well as a truly stunning level of professional incompetence. They bid a trenchless sewer lateral replacement, then said it needed to be trenched after beginning work. When I presented 3 other contractors showing it was totally doable trenchless, they just got stubborn and refused to honor their contract. I went with one of those other 3 other (competent) shops after taking a multi-thousand-dollar hit. read more
