I am writing on behalf of a friend and her family regarding a deeply concerning experience during a recent birthday celebration for her 85-year-old grandmother. The family had gathered at the bowling alley with a large group, many of whom were elderly. Upon arrival, they intentionally chose seating at the far end of the facility to remain out of the way and to better accommodate the needs of older guests, including the grandmother, who uses a wheelchair. Once all guests had arrived and they proceeded to secure lanes and rental shoes, they were instructed by the manager to relocate to lanes closer to the center of the building. My friend respectfully explained that this would be highly inconvenient and potentially difficult, as it required moving her grandmother and several elderly guests. Despite this, the manager showed no willingness to accommodate or consider their circumstances. While attempting to comply and relocate the group, one of the family members fell and sustained an injury to her knee and shoulder. This incident understandably caused distress. When the manager was informed, his response lacked empathy and professionalism. No apology was offered; instead, he simply proceeded to document the incident. From an outside perspective, this situation raises serious concerns regarding adherence to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Businesses have a responsibility to provide reasonable accommodations and ensure that individuals with disabilities are not placed in situations that compromise their safety or accessibility. Requiring a group to relocate without consideration for a wheelchair user's needs appears inconsistent with these obligations. My friend's family has been loyal patrons of this establishment for many years and has contributed significant business over time. However, what stood out most in this situation was the clear lack of hospitality, as well as the absence of any apology or genuine empathy following the incident. This response, combined with the overall handling of the situation, has led them to decide they will not be returning. read more

This was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've seen. We brought our 85yr old family member who is wheelchair bound, and her daughter specifically requested a lane at the far end for safety and comfort to be out of harms way. That request was ignored, and they were placed in the middle of a busy, high-traffic area where specifically her daughter asked not to be placed. that request was selfishly ignored. To make matters worse, one of the guests fell who happens to be my 77yr old mom and the response from management was completely lacking in compassion no apologies , no making sure she was okay nothing just an incident report . This goes beyond poor service it's a failure in basic human decency and safety awareness. Management should seriously reevaluate how they handle vulnerable guests and emergencies. Yesterday we had a birthday celebration for my 85 year old grandma who had ALOT of relatives that were around her age. When we initially arrived at the bowling alley our party chose to sit all the way on the end of the building so that we would be out of the way from the crowd. When everyone arrived that was gonna bowl we went to the front desk to purchase the lanes and the shoes. The manager told us that we would have to move closer to the middle and use the closer lanes. I explained to him the inconvenience because we would have to move my grandmother ( who is in a wheelchair) and the rest of her party. He showed absolutely no concern. While we were moving to the place that was designated my aunt fell to the ground hard and hit her knee. I was livid!!!! I approached him and informed him of the incident that happened and he once again showed no concern. No apology for what happened but walked over with a clipboard to write an incident report. I was appalled by the lack of accountability and hospitality from him. I ordered a cocktail to drink while I bowled and it sucked. It tasted like it was a ready made drink from a can! There was no hint of Jim beam apple whiskey! If there were it did not taste good! I am not a fan of the "apple". Do like Crown Royal apple! Jim beam needs to get out of the apple orchard! Crown Royal have them beat!!! The cocktail was 14 dollars which is an absolute shame for it to taste as horrible as it is! I do not recommend having a cocktail here! There are no frozen alcoholic beverages and they serve Pepsi products as soft drinks!‍WHY LORD IS IT A PEPSI ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!. That is probably why it is not busy on a holiday week!!!! I have ordered the alley sampler which comes with a lot of food for one. Its cost is 29 dollars for what the image on the menu looks like enough for 3. Persons. It has chicken wings bone in,fries,chicken tenders.cheese bread and pretzels. So far it has been 24 mins or so. Probably longer!!! I saw 2 -3 persons in the kitchen with a huge ice spill.! The pictures tells the story!!! The wings were warm but they tasted like some generic frozen wings from the frozen food department in a grocery store near you! The tenders are nuggets like. They are heavily breaded with enough salt. I do not think they are Tyson's but perhaps a store signature brand. I do not think they are banquet either. The mustard sauce was very good! It was sweet and tangy! It went well with the pretzels. The pizza dippers were noting interesting! The fries were cooked too long! They were extra crispy! And where not as the image depicted! I hate when the image does not match the menu. Hated all of it!!!! I had a good time bowling!!! No waiting ! No crowds! Cost to bowl reasonable at 9 dollars a game and 7 dollars to rent the shoes! The lanes themselves was clean however the restroom women had toilet paper on the floor. It could have been swept. There was no foul odor. Thank goodness! This place is great for bowling but not for eating! Eat before you go and sneak out to your car and grab a sip of a vibration (alcoholic beverage) if you need. Make sure it is in the drink people the police is always looking to get a person caught up!!!! Enjoy your holiday days people . The new year is coming! I expect more enjoyment!! Myself and my daughters had a great time here at this bowling alley. I've come here several times before and i have never had a bad experience. We arrived literally when they opened the doors (5pm), and it was kind of nice having almost the entire place to ourselves. At the time of our arrival there was literally only person operating the entire business. She was really sweet and had a very outgoing personality. For the 4 of us we paid about $45 a game and played two games. Which seems decent. The issue is when we ordered $100 worth of food and could barely eat half of it . We ordered 2 sets of buffalo wings with fries , chili cheese nachos , chicken tenders and a kid's pepperoni pizza. "Everything" was disgusting. Buffalo wings were very soggy/mushy in the side and outside of the wings, you can definitely tell that they were straight from freezer and pooped into a microwave. The chili on the nachos had a loud sour taste to it, maybe it was spoiled, the chicken tenders were identical to the hot wings (mushy and soggy), and the pizza was extremely hard and thin like cardboard that all we could do was scrap the cheese and sauce off and eat just the toppings. We kind of knew that something was going to be off when there was literally just one woman running it all . She went from setting us up on the lane to traveling to another section to prepare our food. I gave 3 stars simply because what we came to do was bowl and we found no issues in that department. Plus the lady running the show was extremely sweet and playful. However , we will NEVER eat there again if we do ever decide to bowl there again. Thank God none of us woke up with food poisoning, because that's how bad the food was, especially the nachos that could have been labeled pickled chili nachos. Normally, I would have asked to have the food remade or even a refund. But we agreed that we knew that we were going to be disappointed with the food and decided to just take a loss. I came here on a Saturday night at 6pm. There was about an average sized crowd so not too busy. The service here is extremely slow-at check in, at ordering food, at the bar. With only two parties in front at both the bar and check in, the wait was unreasonable. The workers moved really slow, socialized in between/during transactions-the bar tender looked like she was half asleep or high. The food was ok but not great. The server didn't bring any napkins out and there weren't any at the table either. This is one of few places with COVID distancing measures still in place which meant the table for our lane was about 15 feet behind the lane and it wasn't ok to move them-This was ridiculous. The one positive thing was great music. If it weren't for that, I would've given 1 star. read more

Havent been here in decades. Stopped by to maybe bowl a few games, the parking lot was full. Walked in to a pretty good size league finishing up league play. Seen a couple open play bowlers bowling. Was gonna bowl, but was told they would be closing in about and hour. Walked to the bar area, same size room as I remembered plus 4 pool tables. No customers or staff to be seen. I guess everyone was closing up shop for the night. A waitress walked by me twice, I tried to order but was ignored or she was off. Well have to make another visit to try out the lanes on a different day or earlier. read more

The service and management of this establishment is ridiculous. Corporate is either unaware or unconcerned that this location is unclean and poorly managed. You order food and drinks from the same window because the food crew is always u der staffed. Counters are dirty in all areas. The employees appear frustrated but accustomed to the dysfunction. They deserve better as well as all patrons of this Southern sector bowling alley. For now, I am done. Driving to north Dallas is worth it. I enjoy bowling, but simply can not enjoy it here because it is Unclean, poorly managed, and an overall disappointment. read more

My mother and I were looking for something to do during the pandemic. We thought of bowling. We are so happy that I'm there is one so close to the house. We were greeted by a lovely lady named Kendra. She assisted us with all of our bowling needs. She even went out of her way to tell us about each day and what discounts correspond with it. This bowling alley has plenty of lanes but is not kept up well. We were on lane 40 and was filled with balls. We couldn't put them away to make room for our personal balls because the racks were clear on the other side of the building and too far to carry. Despite the other review on here I came in anyway with kids and the place isn't one of those fancy bowling alleys but the staff is really great and accommodating! Especially for the kids. We had a great time! Crowd is really mixed, music varies from tupac to country. Pricing is a bit high but after 9 it's 8 bucks for all you can bowl. Overall we had a great time! Picked up a postcard that days kids bowl free all summer and adults can get season passes for really cheap. read more

Took forever to order a drink in the bar. There were no balls for the pool tables for customers to play pool. Lanes were messing up and games ending in the middle of games, after paying for numerous games. The pictures of the food in the menu is not what's served. The marinara sauce was cold and they were also out of large cups. This was alll on a Saturday evening around 7:30p-8p. I understand people get busy but working in a service oriented job means you learn to kindly say something such as we'll be right with you or the like. This is a really great place to come with family and friends. I also have came here for a birthday party for my daughter when she was much younger. They had a room were you could rent it out for the party. You could bring your cake and any decorations. It has been many years ago but I do remember it was a really nice place for young kids to bowl and enjoy themselves. They also have pool tables, bar, and a area to order food. They place is fairly large but can get pretty crowded. So I do recommend coming early as possible. This is not one of the best bowling alleys I have been too but it is okay for just wanting to come and hang out. You will see a mixed crowd and the age group is from young to old. We had a few issues with the ceiling fan running which made it very cold. We had to ask more than once to get it turned off. While this is not the best place to bowl it is not the worst so I will go back for the convenience of being close to my home. read more

Wow. I think this pretty much sums up my experience at AMF Desoto Lanes. If I weren't with such awesome people, this place would have been plain terrible. So last night my immediate cousins and I had our first Cousins Night Out event that we are hoping to turn into at least a quarterly event. One person suggested bowling and dinner so off we went to AMF DeSoto Lanes. We chose this location because it was perfectly located between all of our parents houses. Let me tell you, as much as I know this area, this place was hard to find. It is off of a well known street (Hampton Road), but the street sign is just so tiny and off set that you will seriously have to closely watch for it. I would strongly suggest keeping in your right hand land and it is the first street right after you pass the shopping center where Ojeda's is. Anywho, the parking is just weird and is not handi-friendly at all which sucked considering one of my cousins (who was injured while in the military) really needed proper parking spaces. When we went in first set of doors you immediately get a strong wiff of FEET. Yep. Stank feet. I was freaked out because honestly, feet are creepy. So I'm not happy. We go in and find our party and what can I say, I come from a family with style. Everyone always dresses cute and high heels and stilletos are always worn if not a pair of super cute flats, but don't be mistaken, everyone can play sports. Why does this matter? Well, because some of my relatives were treated very rudely for no reason by ghetto patrons (which there were PLENTY). They had socks in their purses and was ready to have a good time. Who cares if they wear heels all the time. The staff sure as heck didn't... and to be honest they did not seem to care about much of anything. So everyone laced up (I didn't. The strong smell of funk foot was enough for me to not even try to get shoes.) and the game started. Things were awesome and we were even given cupcakes by a neighboring family who were extremely nice. As the evening wore on we became very hungry. Little did I know this place had waiters because I never saw anyone and when I went to the counter to order a guy rushed up there to take my order. While deciding what I wanted, I was appalled at the prices. Seriously $13 for some Rico's Cheese, cheap, ghetto nachos. For real?! $9 for the smallest chicken fingers combo. It was ridiculous! The food was not high quality and the grease was not fresh. I did not even bother to hit the bar because I was too blown away. For such an ugly, uninteresting establishment, they were charging like they were Main Event or 300 Lanes, which I would have preferred to go to. I made multiple phone calls to call this location for 30 mins straight both on a Friday and Saturday nite. No answer! The phone system sent you to a voicemail that disconnected the line. The worst part about it was that we went to the location anyway; the place was almost empty and there was 5 staff members "hanging out" at the counter. Totally unacceptable that a business would deliberately avoid answering the phone. And, the customer service was no better in person! Went to bowl on Sunday and had to wade thru cigarette smoke in front of the door even though the ordinance States non smoking within 50 feet of the entrance...strike one.. Counter notified , but. Did.nothing...strike two And ..long wait but that's expected with Sunday night leagues, however, there were lanes open as we waited over 20'minutes to be assigned the open lane...strike three.. Mgmt was very disorganized and rude to our requests. Poor desk organization. Strike four Lanes were slick in delivery area and unacceptable for quality bowling by any standard...strike five We also tried to call ahead to check lane availability,, ten times... no.one pIcks up the phone and voice.mail was fill.. My boyfriend has been a league bowler here since November. Service was ok until today when they hired a so called cook. Couldn't read a menu to save his life. I literally read the menu to him. Messed up a simple burger order 3 times. Mind you, we had been coming here every Friday and spending money. So I spoke with manager Craig who took off a whopping 3 bucks off the bill. I have bowled at AMF Desoto for over 10 years. In the last two months the equipment has broken down numerous times. We have a individual that works as the mechanic. He has no knowledge of this equipment and it takes him awhile to fix problems. The mens bathroom is in bad shape. The sinks are dirty, the toilet is dirty and the walls are also dirty. There are also problems in the womens bathroom. If the place does not get better you start losing bowlers that have bowled for years at this alley. I can see why they have 2 stars! A national bowling competition is in town and even though they had a year to prepare they were not prepared. Upon entering the A/C is out and they don't even have all fans running so it is extremely hot in here. Next, the bathroom is out of soap and when you try to purchase a large drink you are told no because they have no lids for it. Then you ask for Mountain Dew and both time the girl behind the counter tells customers they are out. So you are forced to buy a drink you don't want because you need it as you are sweating and tired from bowling. After they then spill soda all over my credit card, no apology, no napkin, I am forced to fish it out of the liquid, wipe it on my pants all while the girl who's name started with a J (could not see name tag due to her hair) turns to a coworker and speaks negatively. I then requested the manager and funny thing was, I am now drinking Mountain Dew because they are not out! Ok so they have made some much needed improvements to this bowling center but they have a long way to go. Tacky floors and the restrooms are atrocious. I mean they stink to high heavens. This bowling alley WAS our go to date night spot but after tonight... am not sure if will be returning. We had a coupon to bowling we read ALL the fine print and nowhere did it mention that it was only valid during a certain time. So imagine our shock when we got to the register at 8:01 and was told that the coupon wasn't valid after 8 p.m. Did I mention we had been standing in line for about 5 minutes, while one cashier assisted the other. Oh okay... my husband then asked where is that stated on the coupon to which the guy was unable to saw us because as I previously stated it was not. So they made that up! I then pointed out that was literally 8:01 and he responded "it's not me it's all the system". Okay cool, they just lost out because although the bowling would have been discount the money we would have spent at the restaurant and bar would have been all profit for them. AMF DeSoto Lanes is a great place to go last minute if you are bored, the location isn't the best its in an area where anything can happen. The prices are fair and the food is amazing but the server is not the best only people in their early 20's work there and they do not know how to greet people nicely and graciously. Now bowling is the best part and they got pool tables and games as well so you can do something else beside bowl. The restroom are not the cleanness our school restrooms are cleaner than theirs,toilet tissue all over the floor just floor read more

The people seem ill-prepared for a rush because they don't multi-task well. The staff, with the exception of Chris, seems to be unable to handle the tasks of the job. No one is available on the floor to help customers. The manager, Craig, isn't pleasant and they don't really seemed to know what is going on. And to add insult to injury, all the lanes aren't full. Haven't been here in years, and now I remember why. Everyone was rude. Went in to the bar to play pool and the tables were in horrendous condition. I grew up with my stepfather playing in pool leagues, so I know what they are supposed to look like. We questioned the bar manager and she stated that they recover the tables every two months. Properly maintained pool tables are recovered about every six months, but these tables looked like it had been two years since they were taken care of. I went in to get info for my child's birthday party. - they advise me to call the corporate number for party packages - they couldn't tell me pricing on anything DUH why have the flyer there So I called corporate and they said that 50% of the deposit was due the day I booked. Which was fine, but then they also advised that the remainder of the balance was due 3 business days before the party. I then asked what happens if i pay for 15 children and only 9 show. They had the nerve to tell me that it was nonrefundable. HAHAHAHA, sure I want to pay my money and then not receive it back. Who charges you and then won't give it back if you overpay. I asked what comes with the package, it is $14.99 per kid 2 hours of bowling ONE freaking pizza slice for 15 children and free shoe rental. Then they wanted and extra $20 for a Bowling Pin What The Heck? You guys are crazy for charging that much and expecting people to be satisfied with the outcome. then I called the actually location, just to hear that it would be to early to have the lights off so that they could glow in the dark. You guys are horrible. I will just stick with the $1 bowling and leave the parties to USA Bowl which is way cheaper and gives the bowling pin and the children an option of a hot dog w/ chips or a PERSONAL PIZZA. This place sucks! The staff really seems like they hate their job. I didn't see not one smile from them or a hello or how are you or have a nice day. Nothing. The place is really run down. It looks really ghetto inside with ratchet people everywhere. There's a lot of lanes that don't work. I guess that's why it wasn't as noisy as I expected. Which is a good thing. We used two lanes and one constantly kept malfunctioning and we had to keep telling them to fix it; so many times that they gave us more time for free. The lady at the bar over charged my cousin for beer. The sweet alcoholic drinks are nasty, so simple, little liquor and yet expensive. And the food didn't even look appealing. And don't even get me started on the restrooms. Just gross!! The pool tables were being hogged by a bunch of guys. The only positive thing about my visit here is the people I was with!
