The resources are extensive and well arranged but the staff leaves much to be desired. Some of the staff seemed to act as if I were disturbing their relaxation by asking to check out a book. Approaching the desk they give you this fisheye "What are you up to?" look. Maybe they could work on that in the staff meeting. The kids section is very large.

I really enjoy taking my 2 y/o niece to this library. It's a small library, so they don't have as…read moremany books, of course, but I love the atmosphere. They have a great area for kids with several types of toys and a smaller table for them. We've never taken advantage of the service but they also have iPad's available for kids with educational programs! Lastly, the librarians are so helpful and kind!!! I never feel stupid when asking questions! Lately, I stopped in because our printer wasn't working and they helped explain how to print photos from the PC's they have available. I did that for a nominal fee and was VERY impressed by the quality! I just cannot say enough good things about this little library! HINT: Just be prepared for the kids wanting to check out the church playground, which is essentially in the library's backyard. :-)

Super clean, beautiful library that was built 5 years ago…read more It has 4 floors with different sections labeled for the noise level (quiet, deep quiet, etc.) Plenty of seating and computers inside. With lots of areas also for working in groups. If it is a nice day and you want some sun there is rooftop access and plenty of seats outside. The library even has a small museum on the bottom floor that is easy to miss if you did not know it was there. The front desk, customer service employees are very helpful with any questions you may have. There is a Starbucks, a pizza hut, and other food vendors so if you have to study all day you do not have to go far to fuel up. One real neat feature that this library has is the book storage and retrieval system. You simply choose the book on the computer screen and a machine arm will find it and deliver it to you out of the thousands of books storaged there.

Do not get me started on the dining experience here at Randolph College. In the past three years alone the quality and variety of the food has dropped tremendously. Students get excited when the food is fully cooked or not rotting in its place; at best the food is unappetizing and at worst it has sent students to the hospital. To alleviate the pressure on Skeller (the other dining option aside from Cheatham Dining Hall) they removed most of the options and raised all the prices so that students are forced to eat at the dining hall or starve. The professors are on average decent, at worst cooky and unorganized, but most are decent with decent classes that prepare students for their fields. Student life is ok, but worsening due to the surplus of underclassmen and lack of facilities to suit them. Local churches have begun to open their parking lots because there isn't enough room for all the students and staff to park. Freshmen are also being stacked into dorm rooms like sardine, with a few freshmen sharing a double with three people. Meanwhile, the science building is getting renovated instead of the condemned dorm hall-which is where they are moving the offices of the science professors. The rules about who is allowed to be a commuter and who is forced to live in the dingy housing (that comes with the expensive for what dining plan) are ridiculous. I have had friend who literally got married to save the money they were wasting on noisy neighbors and starving nights.

I've never experienced racism more in my entire life, than at this "liberal" college. From an admissions counselor asking me to speak to a white Puerto Rican from the island, assuming we had a lot in common, even though I'm a brown Puerto Rican from NYC, three generations removed, and can't speak Spanish, to a professor arguing with me telling me I'm black, when most Latinos are mixed with natives and Europeans. This is just the administration, this doesn't include the countless racist encounters with my small minded, small town peers. The white kids hang out with the white kids, the blacks with the blacks and everyone else from other countries are grouped together, because among most of the whites there is still fear and intolerance. This place is far from woke and is under the guise of white liberal savior.
