Management has been appprised of problems for over two years and have effectively corrected nothing.

The staff is very friendly and caring and due to the language barrier, whenever they dont know what is bothering my mom they will call us so that we can talk with her and find out if there is anything that they can do to make her feel better. They always engage the residents in different activities, for instance, they decorate the Christmas tree together, draw, plant vegetables, hold music shows, paint vases, etc.... Hope Kensington Gardens continues to offer the quality care with the dignity our senior family members deserve to have, for many years!

She was not able to live alone, required supervision but still had the independence to participate (or not) in events and activities at this beautiful facility. I visited her weekly and she appreciated family dropping in. We had great discussions together and at 90+ years young, she was still very sharp and focused. On Sunday's, a Christian faith service would be held and she was pleased to get a boost for the week. In my Grandma's memory, it is with extreme gratitude that I write this review in support of this Yee Hong Centre and its wonderful staff!

The director is unapproachable and does not follow up with your concerns. The worst part is the increasing fees. Whatever level of care and fees you start with increases quickly the longer you stay. Unless you are prepared to pay thousands more than the basic rate of $4000 a month for one person you might start with, you should look elsewhere. The resident or family has no say in refusing the increased level of care- the residence determines it and you pay more or you leave. This is hard for older residents to have to move again and they often have sold their house. It is a lovely facility in terms of furnishings. They have interesting activities and events. There are never enough bananas for all the residents who want them. The automatic soap dispenser on the washing machine gives so little soap the clothes don't get clean or smell fresh. It is locked and rigged up not to give you more soap.Considering it is one of the most expensive residences you can find, they could do more for the residents. Beautiful place- no value-escalating monthly rates.
