During our vacation (March, 2026) we took two tours with Amigo, the Teotihuacan & Basílica of Guadalupe Tour was the better of the two. We were fortunate to have Alan (English guide) and Alex (Spanish guide), and our driver was Francisco. Alan was an excellent guide; his emphatic and impassioned presentation style was filled with a great many historical and informational items, and both his accent and annunciation made it very easy to follow. Although I recommend this tour, there were a few drawbacks as well. First, I wish we had not bought the lunch to be included. Although the restaurant itself was a very nice space, and included entertainment, the ($31-$33) buffet was lackluster at best. Yes, plenty of choices, plenty of food, but none of it exceptional, or really very good either (street vendor food would have been better). The challenge, however, is that there is NOT another place to buy food (the bus takes you to their; the tour's, partner restaurant so that it is the only place to eat. Some of the other menu items were likely tastier than the buffet. Adjoining the restaurant (behind it) is an area where you "learn" about obsidian, types of tequila & Mezcal, silver, and local hand-crafts. The "presentations" are fun (enough), but yes, this is a stop where they hope you will buy items. For many, this is an opportunity to buy souvenirs, but my wife and I found that this greatly cut into the time we would have much rather spent exploring Teotihuacan. Overall the pacing of the Tour was well planned out. Traffic in/around Mexico City is NOTHING like you have ever experienced before, so it's nearly impossible for the Tour to always go 100% as planned. My advice is to bring patience, things for comfort (bottled water, sun screen, rain jacket, etc.), as it was a 10 hour (yes TEN HOUR) Excursion. We were in good hands with Amigo Tours with this one, but the next day (also with Amigo), we had a very different and not as good Tour elsewhere. Out of five stars, I'd rate this tour at a solid 3.5. read more

We took Amigos tour on a city tour described below and booked through Viator. Our tour guide was Gio and she was fabulous! We have 4 people not make it back at the designated time and the tour waited 15 minutes before leaving which I thought was fair. Please come and create your own adventure. 0 star I strongly advise against booking any trip with Amigo. Our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The company changed the advertised bus transportation to a train without providing a proper explanation. Instead of a comfortable bus ride, we had to travel on a crowded train with very limited space because of the number of passengers and their luggage. After arriving in Prague, our guide, Luis, encouraged us to continue sightseeing and recommended a restaurant that was far from the meeting point. We followed his advice, but there was a long queue at the restaurant, which delayed us. He then insisted that we take an Uber back, saying it would be quicker, but it actually took longer than walking. The most unacceptable part of the trip was what happened next. The guide left Prague and returned to Berlin without us, even though he knew we were tourists, unfamiliar with the city, and did not speak the local language. The company sent us train tickets and assured us they would be valid for our return journey. They were not. We were forced to purchase new tickets at our own expense, in addition to paying for the unnecessary Uber ride. As a result, we didn't return to our hotel until after midnight. Throughout this ordeal, the company never contacted us to check whether we had made it back safely or to offer any assistance. What should have been an enjoyable day trip turned into a stressful 16-hour ordeal caused by poor organization, misleading information, and a lack of customer care. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company and would encourage others to look for a more reliable tour operator. read more

I booked their tour for 3 people on 7/6/26. My son then decided he wanted to go as well. I communicated with them via text asking if I could change it to 4. They said since it was booked through Expedia, I'd have to go through them. I contacted Expedia but they pointed back to Amigo Tours. I decided just to buy a separate ticket for one. My mistake was when I changed the tour with lunch, it changed the date to the next day (today). I immediately contacted Expedia but they told me that since it was less than 24 hours, they couldn't cancel even though I had just paid it. They suggested to talk to Amigo. I did that yesterday showing I had another trip booked for 7/6 and to change the one I just scheduled . They asked me the number of my other trip and then ghosted me. I booked through a third party site for 4 tours. Little did I know that all four tours were ran by the same company, Amigo Tours. We did the following tours: Cable car tour to Iztapalapa - Monday Tolotonango Caves Hot Springs - (they rescheduled from Tuesday to Thursday) Puebla and Cholula tour - Tuesday San Miguel de Allende tour - Wednesday Monday we went on the cable car tour and it was unique! We took several trains and walked a whole bunch. This day was tiring and very hot. The two guides we had were nice, friendly, and straight to the point. On Tuesday we were originally supposed to go to the hot springs but they reached out to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances. They gave me two options: 1. Reschedule for Thursday 2. Refund - I chose to reschedule. SO Tuesday we ended up doing the Puebla tour and we left via charter bus and the tour guide was great!! He was informative and very nice. He took his time to explain all the important facts and walked at a good pace. (about an hour from CDMX) Wednesday we went to San Miguel de Allende via charter bus and our tour guide was friendly (Alicia). She knew all her information, was very patient (we had some unpleasant ppl on this tour) and she kept her friendly composure. (about 4 hours from CDMX) Thursday we went to the hot springs and this day was a little rough. We rode in a van and the seats were very close together. Our knees would touch the seat in front us as there was no leg space. The tour guide (Andy) was very friendly, approachable, and informative. (about 4 hours from CDMX) All the van / bus drivers were nice and we felt very safe with their driving. Overall we had a great experience with Amigo Tours. To the credit card company, they argued that because other group members completed the tour, I am not entitled to a refund--completely ignoring the fact that their own guide abandoned me at the meeting point. This misleading defense caused me to lose the initial dispute. If I into a formal arbitration that costs an additional $500 USD just to appeal. They know the $500 fee is a barrier for most travelers. By denying the facts in the dispute process, they force victims into a "lose-lose" situation--either drop the claim or risk 10 times the tour price in fees. I booked a hiking tour of Iztaccihuatl in May through GetYourGuide, who connected me with AmigoTours's trip. I messaged GetYourGuide through their app to ask about appropriate clothing/equipment for the hike, but nobody ever responded. Then, 3 days before the day, in mid-July, I got a message from AmigoTours, telling me that the tour had been canceled for "reasons beyond our control". No other explanation. They offered me a completely different tour, which I declined. It isn't clear whose responsibility it was to respond to my message, but GetYourGuide shoved all responsibility off onto the "provider", which was AmigoTours. The chain of communication is very confusing. I would recommend booking directly with a tour operator, and I do not recommend AmigoTours. read more

I'm not sure why all the hate, but as I only booked the early morning tour for Teotihuacan via TripAdvisor, I am only able to offer my 2 cents on that. Realizing literally 2 days before the tour date that Teotihuacan is best with a tour, I scoured the internet for a decently priced tour that fit in with my plans for that day, and this company was perfect. Yes, the pickup time is a bit early (6-7am), but the bus was so comfortable, so you can sleep on the drive there. They also stop at a gas station for breakfast/snacks/coffee, which was considerate. I had no complaints on the method of transportation. On arrival, you are separated based on language; they have an English and Spanish tour, and there was definitely a language barrier. However, I was able to get the general gist of what they were saying, and they were super friendly. The tour guides all seemed knowledgeable about the historical site, and I had an overall great time. The tour also had interesting wine tasting, which was really fun. However, the lunch spot they take you to can be a little expensive with decent food at best. I had no issues with scheduling/drop off locations/timing, and the tour guide was with us the entire time, and even did head counts occasionally so no one was left behind. Overall a really positive experience, but I do hope the tour guides' English have improved since then! read more

I had to wait many years before I could travel to Tula. I booked a trip many months ago with "Amigo Tours" through Viator (trip title "Teotihuacan Early Access & Tula Small Group Guided Tour"). Then a short while before the trip Amigo Tours I got an e-mail from the, saying that they cancelled it, and I had to contact Viator to tell Viator that I wanted to cancel. That seemed strange. When an operator cancels, it is them that is supposed to contact Viator - unless they do not want Viator to know that they cancelled the trip. I verified this with Viator. I suspect that they did not have the number of people that they wanted booked for the trip. They called it a "force majeure" reason in their unfortunate note to me. When I asked for more details, they did not provide any. I'm sure if they read this post on the Viator site (or elsewhere), they will try to put some reason to make it not look like they are the unethical company that they certainly appear to be. Now, you would assume I would have received my refund. But no, they did not do what they should have with Viator. I had to call Viator to get my refund. Viator customer service was great - I only wish Amigo Tours had a shred of the professionalism, courtesy, and ethical standing that Viator does. For the sake of your own happy travels, be very careful before booking any trip with Amigo Tours. By the way, due to their unethical behavior, I will now never get to Tula in my lifetime. 3.5 RATING This was my first time to Mexico City, MEX so I decided to participate in a organized tour. I booked on Viator with Amigo tours. The tour included Mexico City Super Saver: Teotihuacan, Tlatelolco, and Guadalupe Shrine Plus Xochimilco and Frida Kahlo. The tour was 2 days with certain meeting points for pick ups. I was picked up at NH Hotel Collection Reforma because it was convenient for me. Excellent hotel choice for my entire stay! Tour price was $71pp, you can't beat that for 2 days of exploring with a guide. The guides were Ok, they should probably have better English speaking guides, a few complained they couldn't understand them. I really went for the sites and transportation, I can read on my own. Day 1: Tlatelolco, considered the largest archaeological site in Mexico City. We learn how important the capital of the Aztec empire during this time. Three Cultures where Pre-hispanic, colonial and modern Mexico blend. Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Basilica de Guadalupe). This is the most important religious building in all of Mexico and one of the most visited places in the Catholic world. It receives more than 20 million pilgrims every year. Teotihuacan, "City of the Gods." Walk around the ruins and be in awe at the marvelous pyramids and buildings. You can climb famous Sun and Moon Pyramids and take in the incredible views from the top. Day 2 Avenida Coyoacan was a great little city about 2 blocks down from the Frida Kahlo house, I enjoyed the church, ice cream, coffee, and churros! Great place to people watch and chill for a hr or so. Frida Kahlo Museum arrived early due to the long lines, opens at 10AM. The house is where Frida Kahlo lived with her husband, Diego Rivera. This area has cobblestone streets and picturesque houses, Casa Azul (Blue House). We learned about iconic artwork of this famous artist. Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, Southern neighborhood of Xochimilco. Its an ecological reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site which was a lake during Aztec times. We rode on a colorful boat called trajunera for an hour as you hear festive music from other boats and saw vendors selling snacks and goodies. They do expect you to tip. UNAM Biblioteca central, Ciudad Universitaria. National Autonomous University which was built in 1551 and where you'll see the UNESCO-listed Central Campus with art from muralists Diego Rivera and Juan O'Gorman. They were having a protest so we could only stay for a few minutes. I actually enjoyed the sites, just wish they were a little bit more organized, if your gonna sell a English tour, make sure your guides can speak the language. I would use them again, I felt very safe the whole time. Great way to orient you way thru MEX. Tip: They will pick you up at the listed stops, but BEWARE on the way back they drop you off whats convenient to them, we were dropped off approx. 4 blocks from NH hotel our stop. We did the Teotihuacan, Guadalupe Shrine, Tlatelolco & Tequila Tasting Tour and it was excellent. Comfortable bus, very well organized, and very knowledgeable tour guides. This was a 10 hour tour and honestly worth every penny. I also accidentally left my glasses on the bus and contacted them the following day. They responded to my email quickly and made it very easy for me to recover my glasses. TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!! Here's a review of the terrible experience we had with Amigo Tours in Barcelona. If I could, I'd give them -5 stars, but I'm forced to give one just to be able to write this review. We had a guide named Silvia at Park Güell, and we ended up leaving the tour because we stayed in the same spot for too long. Silvia kept repeating the same information over and over, making us waste our valuable time. Additionally, for the next tour at La Sagrada Familia, we arrived 10 minutes late, and the supervisor of the guards told us that Silvia the same tour guide had refused to let us in. When we contacted Amigo Tours for help, they offered us no solution, not even the option to reschedule the tour for another day. Starting the bus was several minutes late because the tour guy got to the place in a taxi. The bus moved without warning at the tour's second stop leaving me stranded on the National Mall at 10:30 am. I only had my camera, phone, and license. However, I left my wallet with my passport inside on the bus. I call the only number available on the website and google. I did not receive any answer. I waited three hours to receive a response. I am underage and travel alone on tour. I have no choice but to move independently to get my passport back. Luckily my parents sent money to pay for the ticket on the train from Washington to Philadelphia by Amtrak to see the bus again at the last stop near the Rocky Monument. Finally, I waited for them for two hours until the bus arrived after making three hours of travel on the train. The ticket cost $183 plus a $1 bus to get to the station in Washington. I wanted a refund for the trip because I was barely on the bus. The agency did not care about the situation and did not refund anything. I spent $351 in total. They sent me what the tour guy said, and he was lying, and I have proofs to show it. Please don't let this happen to you. If you want to go to Washington, there're better options. I then got one once I got home (because my amoxi that I bought at the gift shop wasn't enough) and it's not "a valid prescription does not cover the requirements for us to justify the absence due to illness". I was bed ridden for 2 days and throwing up and sh**ing uncontrollably. If that's not a reason, I'm not sure what is. There was no way I was going to ride 2.5 hours each way in a cramped bus with the way I was feeling. They just don't care... Thus ruining the rest of my vacation and causing me to incur over $1,500 in unexpected medical bills. I have tried to contact them through multiple channels and they have done nothing but ignore me. This experience was completely unacceptable. Myself, my daughter, and 74 year old mother were supposed to do this tour. We were told it would be a maximum of 30 people. We left our hotel around 7:30 am to head to the second pickup location. When we could not find Ave Hidalgo 2 we then made a call to the main office for confirmation on the location. We said we are in front of the Hidalgo Theatre. She said that is where we should wait and the bus would come at 8:20am. We waited and were continuously harassed by homeless people who asked us for money. When we said no they proceeded to curse at us in Spanish. Finally, other tourists brought us over to the correct pick up location. The guide that met us there told us to wait as the bus was pulling around. The bus they sent us mean't for 50-60 people. This was something my mom was not going to be able to do between going up and down the stairs continuously and being rushed around by the people on our bus. When we expressed our concern about the bus to the guide he was completely understanding and said he would cancel our reservation on his end and we would be able to get a refund for the tour as we did not go. Fast forward we are home and escalated the situation to Viator who then contacted Amigo Tours. They said that Amigo Tours only had 13 people scheduled for the tour that day - which was never told to us. They also said that because we did not cancel within the 24 hour time frame we would not get a refund. We are disappointed, because the company was not honest with us in any way. Why would they not let us know the tour was 13 people and we would not be rushed. It seems like the company is extremely dishonest and looking to take advantage of their customers. We have been using Viator as a company since 2017 and have never had a problem up until now. I do not think it is fair that we were told we would be refunded in person by the guide, but then have the office tell a completely different story. I would suggest any other tour company, or even checking with your hotel accommodation before booking a tour with this company. We were able to secure a private driver to take us to these locations without any rush for 1,500 pesos total. I suggest you do that instead. read more

Super long tour so be prepared to walk a lot. Tour around the pyramids and there's a lot to learn, also bring snacks because there isn't opportunity to get snacks until the end when you go to lunch. My review of 3/5 is based on two completely different experiences with this company during the same week when I stayed in CDMX. 1: Early Teotihuacan w/Archeologist: This tour was amazing! The pickup arrived in time at both locations and although the bus was full (50 people), once you arrive at the site, you get split up per language which was about half/half so it makes the 3 hour on-site walking tour a very nice experience. Leonardo was great and has an abundant knowledge about anything cultural and historical. The mezcal tasting was also a fun experience and you get some time to buy souvenirs, but I didn't feel that it was pushy at all. The meal option was a buffet which was honestly a great selection of foods. Would definitely recommend this tour! 2: Puebla/Cholula: This is where AmigoTours droped the ball really hard. The pickup arrived in time at the hotel however once on board we were told that they would be dropping off certain people for certain tours at other places to get on different buses. There were 5 of us that had to get off for the Puebla tour. We were put on a minibus. When the guide of that tour was checking us in, she was asking everyone if we were doing any other tours with AmigoTours the coming days. I thought this was a strange thing to ask.. Until 15 minutes later when she told us that there had been an accident on the road to Puebla that would add hours to the tour that day and we might even only get back after midnight. I pulled up Google and found no information to back that story up, plus Google Maps showed no traffic. She then got angry and said "This is what the office told me.". I called GetYourGuide on the spot to demand a refund since AmigoTours was clearly trying to force people to cancel or reschedule because they did not have enough people to make the tour profitable that day. The guide then really got angry with me and started being a total bitch, at one point almost not letting me leave the bus because clearly I called her out for lying to everyone. I was extremely disappointed that I woke up early, got on a bus, got dropped off far away from my hotel and then told the tour was cancelled. So clearly this company is a hit or miss. I did not give them another try when in CDMX and went to Xochimilco and Frida Kahlo's house with Wayak Tours, which was awesome! read more

This was such a sad experience for me. As a young solo female traveler, they literally abandoned me at one of the stops ALONE while my belongings were left inside the bus. The tour took off with my passport, credit cards, money and backpack. I have no missed calls, no emails of them trying to contact me and find me. They abandoned me outside of the city center. I had to call support in order to demand my belongings back. I have not eaten all day and I am stuck walking around like a stray dog past for more that 6 hours. Please, if you are a solo female traveler I urge you to not take this tour. I am traumatized and heartbroken. read more

We met up with the fun double decker bus and took the long way to the stadium. On the way there was a lovely energetic woman telling us about the history and details of the Lucha Libre wrestling. It was all in Spanish. She passed out small tequila shots for those who wanted it and gave everyone lucha Libre masks as souvenirs. When we got to the stadium we were lightly patted down by our same gender police and our ticket scanned. We were shown to our seat by an usher who requested a tip (we observed all the ushers did this- it is customary to tip them). Then we had a server to our section. The woman from the tour checked in on us separately (everyone from our tour was a few seats from each other) to make sure we didn't need anything. She was so lovely. My friends and I were a group of 4; we realized the stadium was closer to our place than if we went back on the bus so we let her know we wouldn't be going back with them and there were no issues. The match was so silly but really fun. We were there on a Tuesday and the matches are only Tuesdays and Fridays and you must book in advance. FYI: the beers are double size so it was pricier than we were expecting. We paid $75 USD for 4 beers, 2 popcorns, and a bag of chips plus tip. It's fine and the service was good, just more than we were expecting. Also- after the match there are a bunch of vendors so you can buy souvenirs. But it's not the best neighborhood so take your bus back or take a Uber; it is not recommended to walk from there. 10/10 would do it again and use this company! read more

Wish I had checked here before booking. If you want a tour conducted in a language you speak, avoid this tour company. I booked an English tour and wound up with 6 hours of Spanish and a few English asides thrown in. They changed the schedule at the last minute resulting in most registrants not showing up at the new time (an hour earlier), so they sent me with a Spanish speaking group. Once they've got your $$, they really don't care what kind of service they provide. read more

This company is THE WORST. Went on their all-inclusive tour to Chichen Itza from Playa del Carmen and it was the worst part of an incredible trip to Mexico. They lie about group size and the stops on the tour, then ghost you when you have questions. They promise a group of no more than 25 travelers, with face masks required by all. In fact, after booking you receive an email stating "if face masks are not worn at all times, you will be kicked off the tour". Their words, not mine. Based on that, I expected a medium-sized group with safety measures followed. What we arrived to was a tour bus with between 45 and 50 people, with not even the tour guides wearing masks. We were herded in and off the bus like cattle and the first hour at Chichen Itza was spent waiting around for others to buy their tickets, despite having booked an all inclusive tour. What's the point of paying for a ticket in advance if you are still grouped with those who do not and have to wait anyway? The tour description also includes "a visit to Valladolid, with free time for shopping". Another lie. The tour bus does not stop in Valladolid, merely drives a circle twice around the town square. And, to make things even more fun, the bus smells like sewer from the bathroom. Maybe those in the front escape the smell but anyone in the back half of the bus will have to suffer for the 5+ hours spent on the bus. It was so bad that my friend had an instant headache each time we stepped on the bus and I felt nauseous most of the time. Chichen Itza is incredible and worth visiting and the cenote was beautiful (though we saw a snake in the water so be careful). But unless you want to deal with terrible smells and be stuck on a huge tour bus double the promised size of the group, skip this tour. I did reach out to Amigo Tours about these concerns before posting the review. They ghosted me when I showed screenshots and photos, so I guess once they have your money they don't care about the experience you have. read more
