This joint is clean and the decor is pretty cool. It's more of a bar but that's pretty dope. The bartender was very nice and helpful. We didn't have to wait long for our food as well. Now for the food... They have a wide variety of food, but I went with the turkey burger. It was surprisingly juicy and pretty damn huge. The flavor was on point, with just the right amount of kick from the chipotle sauce. That's exactly how I like it, nice and spicy, like a fiery Mexican woman. The fries were perfectly crispy, but the real star of the meal was the ketchup. Yes, the ketchup. It had a spicy kick that had my mouth burning in the best way possible. I never thought I'd be raving about ketchup, but here we are. Overall, this joint is pretty damn good. The food is awesome and the price is reasonable. I literally had to physically peel the menu off my hand and go wash my hands just from touching the nasty thing. All the glasses, shelves and bottles have at least 2 years worth of dust and filth on them. Then it happened, the burger I ordered was not only wrong but disgusting, what should have been a burger with green chiles and cheese was turned into one with uncooked bacon and the nastiest tasting guacamole. THEY COULDN"T EVEN GET THE ORDER RIGHT! I can name six places off the top of my head that has better food and cleaner surfaces and THE LEAST of these is what-a-burger of all places. The service was super friendly and she was quick with checking in on how we were doing. Despite it being a few workers they still were able to cook the food and bring it out in a good amount of time. It is a little cozy environment. The food was yummy! So flavorful. The ranch they serve is yummy. I had the Sonoran Dog and it was delicious. My husband had the classic burger and it was very good on his end. The fries are perfect. I recommend stopping by getting something and they have nice list of appetizers. The food here is excellent! The burgers are big and juicy and you can taste the flame broil. We also tried the Trio with fried mushrooms, zucchini and onion rings and all three were delicious. Well breaded and fried. The service was very good and we appreciated the quieter side of the restaurant (opposite from the bar) for family friendly dining. My only small personal disappointment was that the Amigo burger had an avocado spread rather than slices, but I can appreciate that some people might prefer the spread. Came here due to great reviews. Food was ok, nothing to rave about. Service could be better but not terrible. We waited about 20 minutes for a box and our bill. We were a party of 6 and the server felt the need to stick a 20% gratuity on the bill, which came out to a 40 dollar tip. I never mind tipping my server due to working in the service industry for many years, but being forced to leave a large tip when service was mediocre is ridiculous. We will never return to this restaurant. I feel like this was uncalled for and an easy way for the servers at this restaurant to provide mediocre service and still make great tips. Our family went out to a different restaurant on Christmas ever as a party of 7 the bill was less, service was top notch and no gratuity was placed on our check. The parking lot was packed, but when we went to the family-friendly restaurant side, it became apparent that most people were in the bar. It was a basic, slightly grungy diner. Nothing special but honestly, it's the food that counts. The burgers were tasty and the chipotle ketchup for the fries was a nice addition. I will say that they could be way more generous with the fries. We all got the smallest amount of fries I've ever seen in a burger basket. Fries are cheap so no need to be stingy. We also shared 2 desserts, which were delicious, but they apparently don't have a name for the dessert and it isn't on the menu. All in all, the food was good but a bit pricey. Went here for dinner and initially I was hesitant about going in. It looks like just an old local hangout from the outside and pretty much looks the same on the inside but the food? YESSSS Ordered two salads, one with carne asada and one with chicken and some chicken wings. The salads were fresh, more than sufficiently sized and very tasty. Figuring out your dinner choice during the week is either planned or spontaneous. Well it was a spontaneous night on August 7. Craving burgers we hopped onto the Yelp app and found a place called "Amigos Burgers and Beer". I was 100% sure I wanted a burger and was completely open to a new place of business for this food. Parking was a bit awkward but after fitting into a spot we walked inside. It's a nice cozy eating area and a slight walk thru to the bar (I didn't visit the bar, just had a peak). The lady behind the cash register was EXTREMELY friendly, not fake friendly or pushy. She was one of the sweetest people and very helpful. We ended up ordering 3 sets of the Amigos burgers to take home and feed the family. These burgers were ridiculous. The bacon was crispy, the burgers were huge, and just out of this world. I can't rave enough about this place and keep getting cravings to go back for more. I just wish I knew about them prior, soooo good. After driving past this place countless times whenever I've been in Tucson, decided to try them out for a quick dinner. Wait staff was not terribly friendly from the start. Ordered a sandwich and a drink. Said sandwich arrived in about 15 minutes, and was fine, but nothing exceptional. What really spoiled this visit was the conduct that occurred after I requested my check. I politely asked for my check, and it was blatantly obvious that I was finished. She never offered to refill my drink or ask if I wanted anything else. After roughly another 10 minutes of waiting, I put $20 down on the bar, and left (which gave her at least a 25% tip). As I was getting into my car, she came after me and accused me of not paying. I sternly looked at her and said "I left $20 on the bar for you- you're welcome." No apology, and no thank you in return. Let me start by saying this place is kind of sketchy looking, especially at night. The food was pleasantly surprising and reasonably priced, however. We sat at a booth and ordered some beers. They mostly offer Mexican beers and only have bottles from my understanding. They offer Mexican food and lots of burgers. We both ordered the amigo burger, which comes with bacon, avocado, pepperjack cheese, and a side of spicy ketchup. The burger itself held some spice which I loved, although my boyfriend wasn't a fan since he doesn't like spice as much. The burger was cooked to order (they always cook it medium unless stated otherwise) and the fries were crispy and went well with the spicy ketchup. I also put the spicy ketchup on my burger to kick up the spice a bit more. Overall, good burger and beer at a nice laidback dive. I always judge by the food, not the exterior. That's pretty pricey. It wasn't that outstanding. The bun was outstanding. The burger was alright. Couldn't taste the avocado, so not sure why it is even in there. The fries are limpy, but good. The Chipotle, spicy ketchup was pretty good to dip the fries in. It was an OK burger. Not worth the $17, though. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind.
