This was the worst dentist office I have ever visited. I came in for a cleaning this morning…read more(routine). Instead, of a cleaning, they processed me for 5m, took some x-rays and proceeded to clean half my teeth (the bottom half) before sending me on my way... They also lied and told me I needed two fillings due to a cavity and a groove in my tooth. When I got a second opinion (from my old family dentist), none of these things were found. When I inquired as to if this was normal. I was told that due to my being 15m late, I would have to schedule another appointment (since apparently cleanings take about 1.5hr at this place). My thoughts: I was late so I accept that it will cut into my appointment. However.. 1.5hr is not a reasonable expectation for a routine cleaning. I've seen 3 different dentists in the last 5 years (due to my being a traveling consultant), and the longest session I've had was 45m in San Francisco. If cleanings are 1.5hr regularly for new patients. Why was I not informed of this. All they did in the session today was scrape my bottom teeth (no fluoride or anything else). edit: they also lied and said that I needed two fillings due to a cavity and an apparent groove in one of my teeth. Obviously I went for a second opinion to my family's dentist. To my (not) surprise, my family's dentist said there was no cavity. He also showed me the x-rays that he had taken of me from last June and compared it to the ones which Brentwood Dental Group forwarded. The difference was like night and day. The x-rays from Brentwood Dental group were grainy and you 'could' argue that there was a cavity there (there was a shadow in a very murky and grey picture). My family dentist's x-rays were crisp and clear (the contrast between white and black was very crisp). He then showed me the areas which I had been told had a cavity and told me that in his opinion, it was fine. There was no pain and there wouldn't have been that much degradation since last June. There was no need to unnecessarily drill my teeth unless I really wanted to. I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this dentist group as they run the place like an apple store. Hiding under the guise of expertise to upsell you bullshit you don't need.

From the moment you check in, the staff are extremely friendly, kind and personable while being professional. The hygienist I saw was Natasha and not only was she super sweet and kind, she was full of helpful suggestions such as how to floss properly (she demonstrated it while I held a mirror so I could see). The dentist I saw is Dr. Shivji (junior). You can tell that he is confident in what he does and has great knowledge. Not only is her super personable but he is honest- he will not recommend getting things done that you don't really need just to make more money for the business (as I have experienced at other dental offices in the past). I get anxious about feeling anything when getting fillings and he was very gentle and reassuring, always checking to make sure I was doing ok. I trust him to give me good dental advice. Again, I cannot say enough good things about everyone working at Alpha Dental and my only regret is not being a patient here sooner.

My insurance will be alereted of insurance fraud. Apperantly any person ive asked that went there said same exact thing they just over charge you and trying to rechsdule or cancel your app after if u noticed. The visit was quick, informative, and painless. I had a cavity filled in less than an hour. But for the real gravy, while I was getting worked on I was in a massage chair watching Blue Planet II in 4k on the ceiling. I'd think it was a joke if I hadn't just experienced it. I'll be going back any time I need anything, and recommending them to anyone who will listen.

The dentist, Dr. Chan, is caring and professional. I never once got scared or pushed into unnecessary treatments. The staff are kind and caring. North Burnaby Dental said your Insurance should cover all ( In writing) then get put in an awkward position while in the chair and told it was going to be $450 - hindsight if they just said what it was going to cost - I would not have left - it was the gaslight and deception that was slippery. Yes, I believe that if it is fillings on those molars and re cementation of that crown that came off, then it will likely be within that $1000 limit. If you do require a new crown by chance, however, that is not usually a covered service by the disability coverage. You tell me - looks like deception to me.

The dentist, Dr Poulad, and dental assistant, Alanna, made my son feel comfortable and at ease (truly a hard task.. ask any toddler mom) and even made him LAUGH - thank you soo much. I had a cleaning done with x-rays (including full panorama x-ray) and after the dentist did a check-up he said I had 2 cavities and 2 silver fillings that are leaking and so they needed to be replaced. This sounded excessive so I went to see a different dentist for a second opinion - turns out I don't have any cavities or any leaks according to the second dentist which makes sense given I brush my teeth twice a day, floss daily in the evenings and have no gum or teeth pain / sensitivity. The staff at Dawson Dental are nice and friendly but I definitely won't be returning as I've found a new dentist in Burnaby.

I've noted that it is a costly procedure that my extended benefit will not cover the full amount. Every time I came in for cleaning, they kept wanting to do it. It's like a sleezy car salesman. Finally, they have decided to do it, i've asked them if my extended health will cover ONE HUNDRED PERCENT... they said YES. I got a bill of $800 afterward. NEVER GO TO THEM... it's all about the money.
