This is one of the very few hairdressers where i don't come out four stone lighter from sweating. All dry for me in here. Its run by Fiodora herself who is not only very beautiful but very lovely to and an incredibly talented hair stylist. The girls are all nice but can make you feel a bit edgy, there is definitely an undercurrent of bitchiness here. Slightly pricey for what you actually have done, but so worth it in the end. Beware, you cant park outside but there is a car park opposite, do put an extra hour on the meter though... sometimes your mop will take longer than expected. Fiodora also stocks a wide range of products from St Tropez to all the latest GHD stuff. There's always a brand new magazine for you to read and the tea is nice too! Snip, snip, snip!

Nowadays, I go to the professionals because I'm lazy and love the pampering experience of going to the salon. I went to Tony & Guy on Churchill Way at the urging of my beloved, who had a fantastic haircut courtesy of a stylist named Zoe. I wanted about half a foot chopped off my nearly waist-length hair, so thought now is the time to go and try something new. Gulp. Luckily, all ended well. I can't speak for every stylist here, but Zoe managed to take my naturally curly mop and turn it into a sleek shoulder-length style that I grew to love. It was a bit shorter than I had anticipated, but like I said, it's just hair!

The colour was ok but the cut bore no resemblance to the hairstyle in the book at all, it was a lot shorter than I wanted, very flat on top and just 'hung'! When I said I didn't like it she wanted to backcomb the top to stop it being flat! The manager came over and re-wet the hair and blow dried it but it still wasn't what I had asked for and the cut was dreadful. She could see how unhappy and upset I was but they just kept saying well it's what you asked for. Well it wasn't. I phoned this morning (19th) to see if I could get a refund but the manager was very defensive, she would only agree to refund the cut and blow dry £13.odd I had paid £43 altogether. She told me to go to the salon to pick this up. When I arrived she kept saying that the style was the same as the one in the book. When I challenged her to get the book it was quite clear it was nothing like it, but she tried making other excuses. To get the £13.odd she wanted me to sign a piece of paper to say she was doing it as a good-will gesture only and was not taking any responsibility. When I refused to sign she would not refund anything. She did offer to recut my hair but how could I it was already shorter than I asked for and would you trust them again? Also note they only take cash something they did not tell me when I made the appointment.

The woman at reception was so friendly, immediately offering to take my coat for me. I was seen to straight away, even though I was a tad bit early for my appointment and all the employees were very attentive throughout. One thing I liked is that since sometimes I'm not a particularly talkative person, they're friendly without necessarily forcing conversation on you. Basically, it really seemed like there was a lot of effort put into making me feel as comfortable as possible. They even offer you complimentary drinks (including wine, beer, and some non-alcoholic drinks too of course). ~ Results: In general, I'm really happy with the styling done! My colour is fantastic and I love it. The prices are fair for what you pay for as well, it's not cheap but it's still affordable. My only concern is that when I was getting my hair curled with a curling brush and hairdryer, my hair ended up absolutely damaged and dry. Normally, my hair is really silky and healthy so this was pretty distressing for me. Hopefully some conditioner at home can fix it, though! --- I'm really happy with my experience here and would definitely come back in the future. A solid 4 stars from me!
