This is yet another old fashioned Malvern store out of the Grace Brothers mould. When you go through the door, you are usually greeted with a courteous Good morning/afternoon Sir/Madam, and the service continues in that manner throughout your visit. Malvern could be considered as the Bournemouth of the Midlands, and I suspect that in a younger biased town that Brays might not suvive, but here it is just about perfect. Their prices are not cheap, but they don't need to be because the quality shines out, albeit slightly old fashioned quality.

Unfortunately, this instruction was not followed. Initially, the shop staff were unrepentant but the owner then became involved, offered his help and we were given a generous refund. Every organisation makes mistakes and should only be judged by how it remedies them. Doughty's reaction was impeccable. The fabrics are excellent and as described, our charity has a donation and we can't praise them highly enough.

By 4 November I had not received the goods so I emailed the company. I received a telephone call to say that some of the items were not in stock. The lady I spoke to asked me what I wanted done about it! I said I would like my money back please. I am very concerned that a company will accept and acknowledge my order, take my money and then do nothing about contacting me to say there is a problem and to sort it out. Surely cash should not be taken until an order has been filled and despatched. I will not use this company again.

The cafe serves some very good food but is hidden away on the top floor in the corner, and you are unlikely to stumble across it while browsing. Shame really. Outside the front, the store has a very large, flat canopy which serves to keep the rain off when meeting someone, and consequently it is one of the most popular meeting venues in Worcester. I hope Debenhams do spend some money here as it has been a fixture in Worcester since I can remember.
