Barcelona is amazing and Las Ramblas is a bustling street full of restaurants , people and activity . It's a small shop and service as outstanding . They were patient with my minimal Spanish ( Castilian Spanish is Sooooo not what we speak in Brooklyn ...or Queens .. ) and ready to serve . It's always crowded . My favorite flavors were Pistachio . It might be closed now but to my surprise they have a location in NYC as well ! There are 3 in the city and I've been to the one on 8th Ave and 46th St . They sell waffles and crepes , vegan sorbet and other items. My favorite gelato here is Hazelnut Chocolate , salted butter caramel and Pistachio. Check it out when you're in the city ! read more

We have Amorino in NYC, but this was just the best. Who doesn't like gelato in the shape of a flower? My husband didn't care for the flower thing but we kept going back because he loved the flavors. They taste natural and fresh as opposed to artificial flavors used in some of the other gelatos places. We tried almost all their flavors over the course of our stay! All delicious. I was so excited to try some good gelato during my trip to Europe (I ate gelato everyday for 1.5 weeks straight yikes), and this place did not disappoint. This is a chain store, so I actually first went to the one on Las Ramblas in Barcelona, again in Florence, and one more time in Cannes LOL. Clearly, I'm a fan. Focusing on the Las Ramblas location in Barcelona, when you enter, you go through the middle and order at the cashier. You can have as many flavors of gelato as you would like, no matter what size you order! The customer service here was exemplary, with the cashier and the server both being extremely polite and helpful. What I Ordered: -Regular Size Cone (4/5): I picked mango, strawberry, and coconut as my flavors! I really loved the gelato here, as did the rest of my family. There was a huge variety of flavors, and I quite liked how you could pick as many as you wanted! The three flavors I picked complemented each other well, and tasted true to the original fruits' flavors. The texture was creamy, yet dense! Last but not least, the gelato is fashioned into a beautiful flower that looks amazing, tastes amazing, and fits right into your Instagram feed! Beautiful ice cream/sorbet/frozen yoghurt shop at the top of Las Rambla. You can tell it's pretty high end as soon as you walk in and that's certainly translated across to the customer service skills of the staff and the desserts on offer. I bought the mint and some cherry/almond mix combo and was delighted with the flavours. Perfect for a warm evening in Spain. There isn't any seating in the shop so you have to wonder around with your ice cream but that's ok I guess. If they had seating I'd give them 5 stars no problem. I bought ice cream from a few vendors and shops whilst in Barcelona and I have to say Amorino did it best. A welcomed delight amidst the other rubbish on Las Rambla. read more

I stumbled into this cute little place while strolling through the Ramblas. It is in the heart of las Ramblas. Looking for a sweet treat after a dinner consisting of mostly pinchos this place instantly caught my eye. It looks very clean and very inviting inside. The guy at the counter was super friendly and allowed me to try any flavor or gelato I wanted. They were all so delicious and tasted so rich and so true to their assigned titles. After sampling way to many flavors I finally settled on the tiramisu gelato. It was delicious and every single bite tasted like I was eating a slice of the richest tiramisu cake! my husband and i were walking towards las ramblas when we saw a bunch of folks with these beautifully shaped ice cream cones in their hands...what could it be? where did they get these from? it didn't take long for me to see that they were all walking out of amorino, a very high end gelateria right by the las ramblas. although it was far more expensive than what i'd ever spend on gelato or ice cream in the states, where else was i gonna find a place that carved the gelato into the shape of an elegant rose? for €4,50, i was allowed to choose up to 5 flavours for my regular-sized cone, which was actually difficult b/c i liked every flavour that i saw! i ended up choosing raspberry, strawberry, mango, fig, and coconut, all fruity flavours, but since i had to share with my husband, fruity flavours were safer. the guy behind the counter definitely did a great job sculpting my cone into a beautiful rose....such a shame i had to ruin that when i started eating it! every flavour was delicious and i could clearly taste each flavour with every bite. i also picked a macaron, since i was there, and it looked really yummy....they had a variety of flavours, but i ended up choosing raspberry. it was good, not out of this world, but it had the crisp cookie wafer on the outside and creamy texture on the inside which i liked. the total? a little over €6 for the 5 flavoured rose-shaped gelato cone and small macaron. definitely a steep price for dessert, but it was worth it to see the gelato designed do his thing. note: the staff here speak really good english so if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask! read more

Disappointing. I was on a "best gelato" quest while in Barcelona and came across this place on Yelp. We were staying off of La Rambla, so Amorino was right around the corner. Perfect! Except not really... Came by for a late night snack, and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. First off, the layout is a little funny - I am used to perusing the options, trying things out, deciding on how much gelato/ice cream I want (cuz sometimes you want 1 scoop, but then you try something awesome and you get a second scoop of that, etc. etc.). But this place forces you to pay first, without seeing what options there are. Kinda weird, but that's fine. What really got to me was the awful customer service. It was late night, and my husband and I were literally the only 2 people in the shop, but the worker seemed really impatient as we were deciding on our flavors - annoyed and literally sighing whenever I asked for a sample. Moreover, he was REALLY stingy about the samples - dude, I've already paid! I'm going get something! The last straw was that my stracciatella (aka chocolate chip) didn't have any chocolate chips! Maybe 2... Seriously? Just overall an awful experience. Honestly, if you're looking for good gelato, make the walk to DelaCrem (for a cute cafe experience) or just stick to the stands along La Rambla - it'll be cheaper and a nicer experience cuz those people are actually happy to have your business. read more

How many people does it take to ring in an order? Four obviously. We waited as the only other people in there while they (all four) took care of one customer. They looked at us and just stood there. I have been to several Amorinos around the world and by far this had the worst customer service. Maybe it's a cultural thing but not sure. When we arrived, we asked to sample some flavors and were rudely told that we need to pay first to sample anything. We asked why as that's not the case in other locations around the world and the person just shrugged and said you have to pay. Then we asked if the person can at least tell us which flavors are available and he said: no, maybe my colleague over there can help you. We were annoyed but were ready to ignore all this until what happened next. We paid and walked over to the person serving. We gave him our receipt and before we said anything, he very sarcastically said: you must want to try some samples. This was pathetic and beyond reasonable, and at this point we weren't happy at all. We still kept our composure and asked if this policy is a Spain thing or just this location. A third employee said that too many people come and many just free load on samples and leave. I said we understand but we just want to: 1) understand what each flavor is; 2) flavor a sample or two to confirm that it tastes the same as what we are used to in other locations. In response, the sarcastic employee said: you have been to other locations so you must know the flavors and also the pictures are self explanatory. Really?!? At this point, I had enough and requested to speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager and explained everything that transpired. Her first reaction was a roll of her eyes (more than once!). She didn't apologize or sympathize but rather she started the freeloading explanation as well. Also, she spoke to one of the employees in Spanish so we have no idea what they were discussing about us. My response to the manager was: I understand ma'am but you should consider training your employees to not be rude and sarcastic; plus, some people may want to try ONE particular flavor to confirm the taste before purchasing. The manager didn't seem to agree or care. And at this point I'm flabbergasted. Like I said, maybe this is a cultural thing but I didn't appreciate this one bit. Lastly, the ice cream/sorbet was spot on like all locations. We enjoyed that but were left with a bitter taste in our mouth thanks to the rude and sarcastic employees. For the record, we visited around 10:30 PM on a Thursday night when the place wasn't crowded and there was only one or two other customers. read more

Amorino is a good place for quality gelato. It's like the Baskin Robbins or Pinkberry of Europe and it always seems to deliver! I had Amorino throughout Europe because it is a chain and the way the workers masterfully shape the gelato into a rose is a talent in itself!! Came here late on a Thursday around 11:30. Great location and lines were not too long and moved fast. The way it works here is you pay then you can sample.
