Amorino is the only gelato place I know that creates a rose flower with petals out of your ice cream if you order a cone.

Definitely the prettiest ice cream cones around! Amorino's trademark rose shaped scoop with petals of delicious gelato (choose as many flavors as you like!) on its cones are handmade by the staff. This is why I always order a cone rather than a cup from Amorino, because they really go all out on crafting a gelato rose with petals on the cone. It's so cute. This location is right on the Riverwalk and it's fun to stroll around with your ice cream.

This place is right on the River Walk, so it's easily accessible from river level and surrounded by other businesses. The display cases were clean, which made it easy to see the gelato options. There's no one taking orders since everything is done through self-service kiosks. There was only one girl working, and she was clearly doing the best she could. For a Saturday night, it was surprising that only one employee was scheduled. What we ordered: - Waffle sticks with L'inimitabile (hazelnut chocolate) s/pistachio macaron: The waffle itself was tough and chewy and had absolutely no flavor. That said, the hazelnut gelato was incredible, light, airy, and not overly sweet. The gelato completely outshined the waffle. The pistachio macaron didn't taste like pistachio. I was hoping to get this flavor bomb in my mouth but it didn't have a distinct flavor! The texture was textbook but the flavor wasn't there! - Raspberry gelato with raspberry macaron: The gelato was extremely bitter. We understand fresh raspberries can be tart, but for a gelato, we expected just a touch more sweetness. My daughter loves raspberry, and unfortunately this one missed the mark for her. - Chocolate gelato: Smooth, silky, and just right. The flower presentation was done nicely, but honestly, it's not worth the price. Overall, this feels like a place you try if you're a tourist walking the River Walk, or maybe once if you're local, but it's not somewhere we'd go back to regularly.

I actually LOVE this chain...especially the one I tried in Atlanta, GA. This San Antonio location was a bit rough though. Not really a cafe (like the Atlanta location), but just an order stand and kiosk. Also, the service was a bit rough too. In all honesty, our gelato cones looked terrible...nothing like the fancy ones that truly look like a Rose. Still the taste was really good! I'd love to rate higher for this gelato chain, but part of what makes it special is the beautiful "Rose" presentation of the gelato...and that was not delivered here. Also, the colors were off. The Pistachio flavor was supposed to look green, but looked yellow. This ruined the Tri-Color look of the Rose as well. Very disappointing. Sorry...As much as I love the gelato here, the ones we got were somewhat botchy versions....and the Rose design just wasn't fully there. Not impressed!

Highly recommend!! Loved the flavors we chose! Crazy spent $27 on ice cream, however it was worth it! Out of the four flavors we got, blue berry cheesecake, peanut butter, Carmel and pistachio; my personal favorite was the peanut butter and Carmel combined. However I do laalalaloooove peanut butter. So I am partial. The service was great, the worker was soooo helpful with the kiosk and breaking down how the process works and what he recommends. The ambiance is great being right on the river walk, so you have the option to walk with your ice cream or sit and enjoy on the stone wall. We enjoyed ours on the stonewall while enjoying conversation and the relaxing scenery. Overall you will not be disappointed with this gelato experience!

Very average gelato. For what you receive, the price of this gelato is very high. The portions are incredibly small. The "Classic" size (their equivalent of a medium) is going to cost nearly $8 without any add-ons. The flavors of the gelato were very good but they tasted a bit freezer burnt. Here you must order at a kiosk and pick up on the opposite end of the store. The queue area post-kiosk was super busy and crowded. You really have to pay attention to hear when your order is ready. Although busy, for a simple gelato order, we were served very quickly. I am not sure if it would be the same for the blended or other speciality varieties. I wouldn't recommend this place - I am sure there are some better local spots to cool off on a hot day at a much lower price.

Located right on the riverwalk, as you can expect it will a bit overpriced for what you get. The 'large' I would say is a standard in less touristy spots. The flavors are somewhat unique but none really blew me away. There was even a piece of the skin of the pistachio in mine. The 'unlimited' flavors is misleading as it just means you have the option to add any number of flavors but it still needs to fit in the cup size. Flavors I liked: dark chocolate mint chip, hazelnut

The gelato here is really tasty! I got the stracciatella and it had large pieces of chocolate in it and was super creamy. I do think the portion size could have been larger at almost $8 for the medium. Overall, I would come back here if I was craving a sweet treat on the Riverwalk.

Definitely not like the other Amorino locations. I first tried out their gelatos in Boston, Newbury street and became a fan ever since. However, this location in San Antonio Riverwalk is small and tasting is not allowed. If you need to taste, then you'll have to order. The service is not great too as the person looked clueless about anything I questioned about. As usual, I tried my favorite pistachio gelato. It was so bitter!!! Extremely bad and doesn't justify the name gelato. Bad experience

Cup with mint gelato, chocolate gelato, lemon sorbet, and strawberry sorbet

Got there after riding the boats on the Riverwalk and waited in a little bit of the line. The lady helped us with the process of ordering and what to do, so that was really nice. It's a small 'hole in the wall' place, but the ambience is definitely fitting in with the area around the Riverwalk and continuing that. In our while party and different cups we got chocolate gelato, blueberry cheesecake, lemon sorbet, tiramisu, vanilla gelato, coffee gelato, mango sorbet, raspberry sorbet, strawberry sorbet, caramel gelato, and mint gelato. Thoughts on the flavors: - Chocolate gelato: fabulous, great flavor, really creamy - Blueberry Cheesecake Gelato: Good - Lemon Sorbet: sooo fantastic! Had a great lemon flavor but not too overpowering that you would think of with lemon (could've had 20 cups just of that!) - Tiramisu Gelato: it was okay, wasn't a big fan just because the coffee flavor was too overwhelming - Vanilla Gelato: regular vanilla flavor, probably wouldn't get again just because it's vanilla - just a plain flavor compared to all the others - Coffee Gelato: really great, didn't like that it had coffee beans in it - Mango Sorbet: superb - tasted like they were fresh mangos - Caramel Gelato: really great, rich caramel flavor to it, and smooth - Mint Gelato: Great mint flavor with chocolate chips, even had dried chocolate syrup swirled within it that added to the flavor - Strawberry Sorbet: good strawberry flavor, had little flecks of strawberries in it too. Tip when you go: You order on the kiosk, pick what size cup you want for your dessert, keep in mind that you can have multiple flavors in one cup rather than just paying for two scoops of two different flavors like you would at an ice cream place. You order your cup/cone/etc., and they'll call you over to the display window and pick out your flavors. We all got the small cup and could get four flavors. Also the display was easily accessible and had great descriptions of the gelato/sorbet. Also everything is Vegan & Gluten Free, including the macarons. You can taste the flavors, after you purchase the cups.

Ice cream is very tasty and the consistency is just right. You order with an automated machine and the service is reasonably on time

I don't have anything negative to say about gelato. Delicious, nice self service touch screen ordering, hits the spot when you're hot walking around on the river. And you can get a macaron on top!

It was popping when we got there, so we had about a 25 minute wait. It took them a little while to take our order, but once they did, the food was made and delivered in a timely manner. I, of course, got the cinnamon roll pancakes short stack, and they were absolutely divine. No need for butter or syrup, they were perfectly delicious as is, cinnamon swirl included?!? and icing glaze as well. Another favorite was the chile relleno omelette - the poblano pepper on top added some smokiness along with the steak, and the sour cream and cheese cooled it down. Bacon and canadian bacon on point. A solid breakfast spot! Don't miss out on the cinnamon roll pancakes! *Cinnamon Roll pancakes, short stack *Cowboy Breakfast: eggs, biscuits with country gravy, bacon *Chile Relleno Omelette: fajita steak, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, & cheese, topped with ranchero sauce, sour cream, green onion, feta cheese *Pancakes & Eggs: 2 cinnamon roll pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage *Sides: grilled ham, bacon, hash browns
