Oh I can resist everything except temptation. Naturally made ice cream, sweet crepes and pistachio cream. The latter was especially unguent.
We opted for a sweet crepe with cherry and tiramisu ice creams between two. They didn't have Coke Zero just the full fat so we opted for two cappuccino that came with delightful crisp chocolate wafers.
The young ladies behind the counter were charm personified and spoke better English than I can manage French. The bill was under £16 for two. We sat outside on pavement chairs and table - the French Pyrenees are a stunning snow capped backdrop. Almost everywhere around us was shut.
It was 30 degrees centigrade and what Catholics call a holy day of obligation so most everywhere closes - schools, fuel stations, supermarkets, banks, most shops so France just ticks over for the day.
Normal service will return tomorrow to this wonderful country and its courteous citizenry. Vive La France read more
