We walked past this restaurant every day for 5 days while in Berlin so we decided to give it a try since we enjoy Indian food. The interior is gorgeous and very well-themed. The host sat us immediately. We ordered a lot because we wanted to try many things. The samosas were great, very tasty. I met a random guy on the street and he said that I have to try Amrit! So I did a little walkie walkie and popped in. It's got a beautiful aurora and even more beautiful staff. They truly make this place spectacular. Especially being a solo traveler, I didn't feel weird at all! They constantly checked in on me and even had me join in on a birthday celebration! Now... let's get to business. The food! BOMB! I got the Lamb malabari and the Bathura bread. And the B really ties everything together. Lamb is spicy, but not anything crazy! I ordered the lamb korma, plain naan, raita, and the Ayurveda/Ginger tea on Sunday, June 14, 2025 while staying at the Marriott Berlin Hotel a block away. The restaurant is gorgeous. The lamb was perfectly cooked with just the right spices. It came with one of the best salads I have ever eaten. I met the owner who was incredibly gracious. I went back the next night and ordered a chicken dish and samosas. I couldn't finish it. I preferred the plain naan. The hot fudge brownie with Madagascar Vanilla Ice Cream was served bubbling hot in its own heated skillet. I loved eating at Amrit. I ate inside where it was quiet but you can eat outside at tables and watch the traffic. read more

Came to Berlin on my vacation & ended up dining at Amrit twice. It was delicious! We tried at least 10 different items from the menu. From appetizers, mains, sides, desserts, & drinks everything tasted perfect. The workers are super cool & gave us a lot of attention & recommendations for our trip. 1. The restaurant was told about a customers nut allergy and after being assured multiple times that there were no nuts in the food, she still had an allergic reaction. 2. The plates, cups, and silverware were absolutely disgusting and were clearly not cleaned well. 3. The place itself was absolute disgusting, there were bugs all over the restaurant, much more than anywhere else outdoors. A great place for lunch, mostly because they offer a lunch deal. We were in the area getting our tourist on and ended up at this intersection right when hunger kicked in. It was the best choice for us. It's chaotic the second you walk in. It felt like peak lunch break as the place was popping. They seated us right by the window with a perfect view of the folks walking by outside. We both got a chicken dish that came with rice and salad. We also got an order of the garlic naan. What I was able to eat was great. The naan was definitely the highlight for me anyway. No one in Europe got my sense of humor so my dish had no spice after I asked for my spice level to be at American instead of Indian. read more

I ordered takeout from Amrit, as it was close to my hotel, & I luv Indian cuisine, even more when it's good! Order was ready in 15 minutes as promised. I got the Murgh Tikka (grilled chicken) appetizer & Chicken Madrasi. Both were packaged exceptionally well for take out (no chance of leaking :-) and very tasty. The Madrasi had a slight kick of spice from the curry, as advertised. My one minor opportunity for improvement is on the naan - way too crispy (see pic) for my liking, as I prefer more soft & a tiny bit chewy. Otherwise - I highly recommend! read more

Got the chicken Punjabi and mango lassi which came with naan and rice and a side salad. Total was 10.80€! (Lunch special before 3pm) I tipped them and they gave me a masala chai on the house. Very nice service, good portions, and the food was good! Usually at other Indian restaurants I would need to buy rice and naan separately so this was very good for the price! I would give this place 3.5 stars if Yelp did half stars. We went the day after Diwali, so all of their decorations were still up which added to the nice ambiance! The service was great and the staff were attentive. However, the food was just okay. The dishes lacked flavor and spice, even though I ordered mine the "Desi way", which was supposed to be more flavorful and spicier. I've grown up eating homemade Indian food and have also been to India, so my palate may be more attuned to great Indian food. I think this place is good for beginners or people who might be scared of all the spice that traditional Indian food has to offer. WOW. We walked in on a Sunday at 5pm and we're greeted at the door by so many incredibly friendly staff members. We are visiting from California and everyone spoke English! We were greeted by our server Munish, seriously one of the best servers we've ever had and hands down the best in Berlin. The espresso martini was so good and only 6.5€. Onto the food, we got butter chicken, naan, and Chicken Malabari Masala (our favorite of the two). Also the interior is STUNNING. Hands down come here, and ask for Munish! This is a really awesome and very large restaurant where you can sit either inside or outside private tables. We came here on a Sunday night and received it right away and staff is very friendly, efficient and accommodating. They speak perfect German and English communication easy. The food was delicious. Not bad We more or less accidentally found ourselves in Amrit. We were looking around for a place to have dinner, my wife looking online, me just looking around, neither one of us getting the job done. She finally came up with Amrit without realizing it was an Indian restaurant. Not our favorite cuisine and not German, which is what we should be trying on our holiday, but we went in. It wasn't bad. Very friendly welcomings from the person outside trying to lure customers to the hostess to our server. Spicy cracker bread was brought to the table, which I find fun to eat. My wife and I both went safe, she with Butter Chicken while I selected a vegetarian dish called Taj Mahal Kofte. My dish was a couple of large potato dumplings in a yellow sauce. Mine was pretty good, by the end of the meal I was happier we selected this restaurant than when I first walked in. My only complaint was it took over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. After dinner they even brought shot glasses of mango juice, a nice touch. read more

Everything we tried was delicious (butter chicken, garlic naan, tandoori chicken, and a house paneer curry) and we ate every last bite. The food was lost. Had to return the malaise chicken that I had ordered based on the recommendation of the attending waiter. This dish was one of the 5 or 6 Chef's special and recommended dishes on the menu. The gravy was unlike any malabsorption chicken gravies I have ever had, the chicken and the gravy appears to have come together at the last minute. I was surprised that the food was served within 5 minutes of ordering. The worst was that the chicken was rubbery and chewy like a bubble gum, obviously reheated several times. The only good thing they did was to take it out off the check. In any case, the outcome was that I returned the food and left hungry. Besides, I lost all the appetite I had when I walked into the restaurant, and went to bed with an empty stomach. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you are looking for Indian food or any food. For that matter, even a total novice can make better Indian food just following the internet recipes. This place is so good we ate there 3 times while visiting Berlin. The staff are amazing. We will always go here when we visit.

We arrived and were greeted by a very kind host who showed us to our waiter who then led us to our table. We scanned the menu then were greeted with rude service and stern looks. The waiter yelled at a friend of mine while I was in the restroom for trying to look at the bill before she paid. Despite the bad service I only hacked out 1 star for that so that's not the reason this gets 2 stars. My girlfriend lived in India for two months and was greatly disappointed with this food. Before she could share her disappointment with me I told her that the curry tastes like a can of tomato sauce with herbs thrown in it. To my surprise she agreed. Every plate was a disappointment (there were 6 of us) and even more disappointing was that it was not a inexpensive restaurant. To save you the time and disappointment do not go to this restaurant. The bathrooms are so beautiful and the bar is aesthetically appealing which is my reasoning behind 2 stars. So I would avoid this restaurant unless you need to use the restroom or are stopping by for happy hour! read more

The food in this very popular Indian restaurant is not authentic but it was suprisingly good! We made a point of asking the waiter to cook our food to Indian specifications (I think it's called Desi-Style on the menu) and to ramp up the heat. It still wasn't hot at all but we loved our Tandoori chicken (which was nice and dry instead of being covered in sauce). A nice discovery, after a long day visiting the area. In fact i am not a fan of Indian restaurants, I always think it is not authentic and overpriced. I'm still looking carefully for true Indian places. I tried this restaurant mainly because it looked great from the outside, and a lot of people seemed to enjoy the place. The menu is really huge, they offer a lot items, even vegetarians would appreciate the menu. My first surprise was the prices, lower than expected. We ended our dinner for about 55 euros shared with 4 person. And we were all full. That amount even includes drinks! We tried their salad, soup, chicken, and the best for me was the lamb! The garlic naan, and especially the Batura are so good. But do not expect home made stuff here, it is a small chain expanding in Berlin. The quality of the food is nice, fresh to satisfy me. Right below Canada House is this splendid Indian restaurant. I walked by and I thought I am always skeptical of restaurants that have a sign board and someone on the side walk promoting the restaurant. I was very hungry and nearly dizzy--I thought I had to stop and eat. I was in the mood for Indian food. I sat on the sidewalk--thought a bit chilly in May it was fine. I ordered the chicken curry, rice and garlic naan and a .5 litre of Warsteiner. At first I was skeptical and I thought what if this food isn't authentic or satisfying? Instead the service was great--I saw a couple leave early--not sure why they left in such a hurry and after I got my food--they were crazy to have left. The food portion were very nice and I felt I had enough food for two people even though I was dining solo. Everything was super fresh. I don't think I spent more than 20 euros for a fantastic meal. On my next visit to Berlin I will certainly stop here. The quantity and quality ratio is very high and very satisfying. I think of my current base of San Francisco and I could not have had a better chicken curry and the food was outstandingly fresh. A great experience--I'll go back. read more

Also arrival of meals was strange I got mine then my partners did not arrive till 5 minutes later then it took another 10 minutes to get our naan bread when mentioned to staff they just kept saying it is on its way.
