Did the Empire Builder......crickets. Don't waste your time or money on a long haul trip. Complete waste of money and lousy service all around. I looked out the window and saw the BNSF freight trains, and wished I was on board that. Probably better service, even if I was riding in the boxcar. The only part I liked was stopping over in Minot, ND.....just so I can tell my friends I made it to Minot. Would have liked to hold over there and do a pub crawl. Maybe Amwreck can make that a tour stop and improve the adventure. Happy Trails friends. Book airline resv next time. read more

Amtrak @ Williston, ND has a nice waiting area.. The attendant knows her job! I lost a bag one time, she called me the next day!

Amtrak empire builder is the worst ride you'll take terrible service. You have to have a sleeper car at $1800 or so to eat in the dinner car. They'll tell you to go to the snack car but it's almost always closed for some sort of maintenance. Plus the train is always running late so don't plan on getting anywhere your going on time. Like the other guy said the fright train would probably be a better ride at least you'd get where your going on the time they told you. read more

The waiting area inside the Station is super clean (including bathroom) and has vending machines. On the train the Conductors and employees are very helpful with baggage and questions making the trip more enjoyable. I definitely recommend using Amtrak for travel, relax and enjoy the scenery. read more

I wasn't inside this station, but we did make a stop to pick people up. It seems like a good size station and the Amtrak staff is very quick and efficient about helping people get on and off the train. read more
