Just wow. I actually walked out of exam room and left (that has never happened ). She was rude, dismissive and apparently knows everything. I inherited her from Dr Eubanks when he retired and I kept going to PA Tara for a while when they were North Fulton Primary Care. My specialist said I had to have my Primary order blood work. So made an appt. for bloodwork specifically (they said I had to come in and see Dr.), fasted and went to see her. Front desk was great, nurse was rude about ordering blood work and Amy was worse when she arrived in room. The services I've received from my medical network have been fantastic. Regrettably the same cannot be said of this particular practitioner. The front office has been great, which is why I chose Two stars instead of ONE. I made appointment through my network's app. A few days later, I received a call stating the practitioner does not perform the service. I thought ok, my bad. I asked the front office does she do annual physical exams? She does. Ok, I scheduled an appointment. Only to be met with a follow-up call stating the practitioner only seeks physical exams in the morning. No reference on the app or site could I find the practitioner's policy of morning only physical exams. Hey I get it, this particular practitioner can run her practice as she sees fit. I inquired about the next availability and I was informed it would be six weeks out since I was a new patient to the practices. There are many others around who are available. I found a practitioner who had no hoops to jump through. If you are seeking to become a new patient one would be wise to call in advance with the services you seek. Make clear to the person who answers the phone that you are interested in becoming a new patient. She may be a great practitioner based on some of the reviews I read. However, the stipulations to become a patient were met only with frustration. Again, remember there are many others around who are available. read more

I came in for a physical for my work insurance wellness check. No where when booking did it state that physicals were only conducted early mornings. They claimed to have called to ask what type of appt, clearly cause it does not ask on the intake, but claimed they could not get a hold of me. Meanwhile they did talk to me about booking double, no one mentioned the physical issue. When there, I told them i needed this form filled out and Krishna the front desk receptionist asked me to email it to her and confirmed receipt. Then the doctor claims, we can't accept personal emails... Hmmm.. she just said she got it, but ok. Then conducted a physical on me and drew blood... For what? you said you cannot fill out the physical form so what are we doing? Oh we are just charging the insurance company i see... Just another Doctor looking for their pay check from Big Insurance... Previous reviews sound right on point. She is very short, cuts you off, talks over you and does not let you finish a sentence. Rushed in and out. This is what you are charging people for? Myself and the entire family, will never be returning here! read more

I cannot emphasize enough how rude and uninterested Dr. Barfield is. I'm amazed at people who praised her bedside manner. Who was their doctor before? My impression was that she'd been treating patients way too long and could not muster up the energy to even be friendly. Tried to get to know me? She wasn't in the room long enough. read more

Like others have stated, Dr Barfield is rude and dismissive. I scheduled with her from the advice of my neurosurgeo to meet with her because I have a complicated medical history. He thought that maybe she'd be a good "liaison" for me....Within the first two mins-I knew this was the wrong decision. I see many specialists-I didnt need her to intervene in anyway. I didn't ask for any meds, I didn't ask for her for anything. (News flash! Not everyone is a pill seeker.) She acted annoyed and put off that I was there. Rude, Dismissive, uninterested in anything I had to say, she would interrupt me constantly throughout the conversation. My main concern was swollen lymph nodes and mentioned missed periods. She told me I had cat scratch disease after I told I have not been bitten or scratched by my catch. She told me that I could be menopausal but if I wanted to discuss that I'd have to make another appointment. She ran no tests to rule anything out. She prescribed an antibiotic for the cat scratch and sent me on my way. Well she couldn't be more wrong! Exactly 1 year later I'm sitting here with CLL (Leukemia) and a 5 month old baby at 47 years old. Wondering how I ended up here when I ran to the doctor early on. If I had been heard by this doctor I probably would not be in this horrible situation. read more

My wife has been in pain for about 3 weeks. It is back pain. She went to her chiropractor for several adjustments but got no relief. Her worsening pain is worrying me that something more serious is going on. I encouraged her to go to urgent care but she decided to go to the primary care doctor she's been seeing for years. She scheduled an appointment with Amy Barfield, M.D. The appointment did not go well. Without any diagnostic testing, Dr. Barfield suggested a number conditions that she might be due to her age. She also told her she didn't need pain medication or to be evaluated by a surgeon. She recommended an aspirin and a chiropractor. Not helpful at all. We still do not know the underlying cause of her back pain. We need a doctor that can really do medicine, not just condescend. read more

Horrible staff, unprofessional, incompetent with zero customer service or caring. I've never seen a medical staff so unorganized without any sympathy for patients. As for Dr. Barfield she has no personality or bedside manner she's cold and uninformative . Today Thank God we have a choice in whom we trust our health too. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Bare field to treat any living being at all! She should be sitting behind a microscope somewhere in a cold, sterile environment to match her personality!!!! read more

Sent my wife and step/daughter to see Dr Barfield and establish care as their primary care MD. Huge mistake. Doctor was rude, saw both my wife and step-daughter at the same time rather than separately, spoke to my wife in a condescending manner. Doctor wanted to change GYN's birth control order for my step-daughter and called in the wrong birth control (she called in the birth control that SHE wanted her to take). Overall awful bedside manner. My family will not be going back to this doctor, ever. read more

If you want an uncaring, rude and cold Doctor to go to then pick Dr. Barfield. I have never been treated so poorly, she did not feel that I needed to take my medication, a necessity for me. Like others who have written reviews, I moved here and was in need of a primary care physician. For a while, I had chosen to commute 40 minutes to stay with my previous primary care physician but it was not realistic for quick fixes like a sinus infection and I did not want the local urgent care to be my one stop shop for quick fixes. So, I started the search. I read lots of reviews and chose to schedule a new patient appointment with Dr Barfield and LOVE HER!!! I felt so at ease. From the front desk on, everyone was great! Dr. Barfield chose to get to know me, my habits, my life, my work.... all of it. I appreciated the attention to details and understanding and am VERY relieved to have found a replacement for a primary care physician- I honestly thought I would never find one as good as who I had, but I'm thrilled to have found Dr. Barfield. I can't even imagine why she received bad reviews. She's A+ in my book. read more

I've had a run of bad luck with primary care physicians in the last few years with three of them moving to "concierge" practices and thus forcing me to change my primary care physician. But I think I've been very fortunate to find Dr. Barfield. She is much more attentive than my previous doctors and doesn't seem to rush me out as soon as she walks in. Her diagnosis have been correct and the treatment she provided has been effective. The office staff has been friendly and efficient. Wait times have been minimal. I am well pleased with Dr. Barfield and hope to continue having her services for many years to come. read more

Dr. Barfield missed a kidney stone I had which resulted in my rushing to an urgent care center with pain and fever a few days after my appointment with her. Staff made several mistakes when calling in medications to my pharmacy which was a hassle to resolve. No longer see her and don't recommend her. read more

My first visit lasted 6 minutes. My previous doctor was dissed as were the medications I have taken for years. I was told twice that I was eating too much fruit and vegetables. I was given information about a medication that was wrong, not a little wrong but completely wrong. A health care provider that is morbidly obese loses credibility right off the bat. But when that is coupled with a lack of professionalism and an attitude that "Patty and Selma from the Simpsons" would aspire too, it's just to much. Not every one can go to the best school or graduate at the top of the class. But a tiny bit of effort, and as a doctor a caring attitude would be appreciated. Maybe she was having a bad day, don't want to trust my life and health with someone that is so not into their job. The worst experience of this type I have ever even heard about. Her partners need to take a hard look, because it's "guilty by association". The regulatory process needs to take a look at this individual, the stakes are to high to ignore... I have attempted to be fair, and just report the facts. But I did have to comment on "the vibe", and it's not good. Shame on you! Shame! read more
