I debated posting a review for quite a while (months!) and I feel I have to. To preface this, let me say that I am a mortgage professional myself. I was in the process of getting a loan through the bank I was working at, and due to some requirements there, I couldn't get financed. I was referred to Amy Bonis through my Realtor. I needed an FHA loan because I had commission income for less than two years. I know this income is allowed - as I said, I am a mortgage professional. FHA requires one year of commission income, not two! First things first - the assistant I spoke with was fairly rude. I couldn't tell if she was just having a bad day, or if that was her personality, so I didn't think too much of it. But then Amy called. We talked for a minutes and it became apparent she really didn't want my business. She was arguing with me about the FHA guidelines, was EXTREMELY condescending, and unbelievably arrogant. I honestly couldn't believe she would talk to ANYONE this way, let alone someone who was referred to her. She insinuated I didn't know what I was talking about. We then got off the phone. I immediately emailed my agent the FHA guidelines so at least he was aware that I was correct. Oddly, Amy Bonis called me again, argued with me AGAIN, and even read the following guideline out loud to me in an incredibly rude voice: "Definition: Commission Income refers to income that is paid contingent upon the conducting of a business transaction or the performance of a service. The Mortgagee may use Commission Income as Effective Income if the Borrower earned the income for at least one year in the same or similar line of work and it is reasonably likely to continue." When she finished, I simply said 'Okay, does it say one year or two.' She stumbled and said, 'Well, one.. but...' Look, there is no 'but'. Guidelines are guidelines and it was not my responsibility to educate her or put up with her attitude. I told her that I would not be using her services. In short, if you want someone who appreciates your business, will treat you with respect, will educate you and will in turn take in new knowledge - use anyone else. I'm sure she means well but, her personality being what it is, I would not recommend her to anyone. In fact, I can say with certainty that I will never consider referring a client. read more

I will give you the only reasons why I didn't use Amy Bonis' for my lender. 1) when she called me I could hear that she was typing on her computer rather than listening to what I was saying. You could also tell she didn't listen to me and she explained things while she was obviously reading something. Bad first impression! 2) when she finished her email and she actually started talking to me she was very condescending and at one point actually insulted me by saying "well you know everything". Started working with Amy's team last year. Amy is good but her coworker doesn't have good customer service. She treated my husband and I as if we couldn't afford a large mortgage. We realized Prime mortgage was the issue, they couldn't loan us a large amount without fitting all the pieces in their box...we realized they aren't a depositor like a large bank so I guess they must be selective in their clients. Treating customers as if they are less than due to their limitations isn't acceptable. As soon as you apply they follow up with you, email, phone call, texts, good communication before you actually meet this lady Amy. We got into an office which clearly is not her office, is like everyone's office, very small room with a very big tv/monitor where she reviews your paper work while she is speaking with you, first of all, a professional would had reviewed everything before they make you come. I'm a first time home buyer and of course I know nothing. We had tons of questions. This Amy gets mad easily and you can tell she was getting irritated by the questions we had. She even asked me if I had mental problems. When she was speaking with my realtor in front of me with the speaker on she whispered me that I needed to get a new realtor that my realtor was not good and that she could referred me to a good one. I literally left the office crying because of her. I felt discriminated. She could have been on the news but she is not the best. I am a first time home buyer and was introduced to the Amy Bonis Team through my current listing agency Remax. I had some concerns and questions I wanted to go over with Amy one evening. The conversation was a total disaster. Not only did she talk over me and not let me finish a sentence, she was also aggressive and patronizing. At one point in the conversation, she stated she was doing me a favor by calling me at 10:00 pm on a Friday night to give advise about a property I was ready to put an offer on. She also mentioned if it wasn't for her the seller would have never accepted the offer. At this point in the conversation I became emotionally upset. Before ending the call, Amy said if I found myself on the edge of a cliff to give her a call to talk me out of it. She also had her personal maintenance man (not a licensed contractor) take a look at the property for an estimate that was needed. I do not think that is even legal. The approach and delivery of the conversation was inept and very unprofessional. I ended the contract with the Amy Bonis team and would not recommend her to anyone. read more
