My boyfriend got the spicy shrimp plate! He ate every shrimp and rice, was up to his standard on the spicy level! Excellent food, service and cute area to sit and eat!

I stopped by Amy Shrimp and Poke Shake for a late dinner after a full day of exploring the city, and it hit the spot perfectly. The poke was incredibly fresh. you could taste the quality in every bite. The fish was clean, tender, and well-prepared, but what really stood out was the spicy soy sauce. It had a great kick without being overpowering, adding just the right amount of heat and flavor to elevate the entire dish. Portion-wise, it was exactly what I needed not too heavy, but satisfying enough to recharge after a long day. It's the kind of meal that leaves you full but not weighed down. If you're looking for something fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced for a late-night bite, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

Famous Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp plate $19.95 that came with a side of salads and rice. We got our order with heads-on shrimps. There were 6 pieces of medium sized shrimps with white rice underneath the shrimps. This dish tasted like the ones from the boiling crab from CA. A lot of garlic pieces in the sauce with shrimps. This place was in the area with other food trucks. Parking was difficult around this area. There were few tables to eat there. If you cannot find empty tables then you will most likely be eating in the car after buying your foods.

The food was delicious. Shrimp were huge and flavorful. The dressing on the salad was top tier. I would like the shrimp to be a bit more seasoned given that it's essentially seasoning on the shell which you peel off. The workers were friendly and helpful. Affordable pricing.

Ordered the poke and garlic shrimp plate. Poke- 2.75/5 pretty decent and portion is good for price. I couldn't taste the fish taste too much which is why I rated it lower. But the sauce was good and still pretty fresh. Garlic shrimp- 4/5 my only wish was it should have a bit more sauce but that just may be my preference. The sauce was super tasty and portion was great!

It is very tasty and fresh and you can have the heads on or ask them to remove the heads. The owner was very nice to us and explained to us how we are supposed to clean the shrimps and gave us special gloves!

The shrimp were perfectly cooked: juicy, tender, and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce that was bold without being overpowering. You can tell they know exactly when to pull shrimp off the heat. The salad was a great surprise: crisp, fresh, and light, which helped balance out the richness from the buttered shrimp really well. Simple, well-executed, and very satisfying. Service: The cashier was super friendly and genuinely happy to help. They took the time to walk me through the menu, answered questions without rushing, and made the ordering experience feel welcoming rather than transactional. You could tell they cared about the food and the guest experience. Ambiance: Cozy and inviting. It's the kind of spot that feels relaxed and authentic, perfect for grabbing something delicious without overthinking it. Great for a laid-back meal after a long day.

Amy's Shrimp and Poke Shack is located in Honolulu about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the place we were staying at - Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. It is located on the corner of Kalakaua Ave surrounded by other food trucks and shacks. One of the foods we wanted to try while vacationing in Honolulu was garlic shrimp so we were excited to see Amy's. We ordered the Spicy Shrimp Plate and it was very flavorful. My only complaint was how hard the shrimp were to peel (I have a thing about getting my hands dirty when eating) - they also still had their poop line still intact. The rice that came with was cooked nice, it also came with a side salad which I did not try. Since this is just a shack, you order at the front, they call your name and then they offer picnic tables to sit at which helped with the Hawaiian vibes. Overall, it was a big plate of food that easily fed 2-3 people and we left fairly satisfied and full. Staff was also very nice and personable!

Really really enjoyed their shrimp plates, $20. The prawns are served head on, they fry them up slowly so the 'shrimp oil' drizzles onto the rice sooo tasty! Took awhile for the food to be ready, we highly recommend this food truck:-)

My family found Amy's after landing and immediately craving some garlic shrimp! It's located in a cool little food truck park, a short walk from Waikiki beach. Plenty of seating available, and on this particular evening, we even saw a beautiful rainbow after a brief shower. Our family of 5 each ordered the spicy garlic shrimp platter, with heads included. Service was fast and friendly! The first few shrimp I ate the shell to get the complete flavor. The shells are fried enough to eat, in my opinion, and it pairs great with a bite of rice drizzled in the garlic sauce. I tried a few with the shells cracked apart, and this was also a great experience! The shrimp are an incredible size and the home made garlic sauce is 10/10!

Expect to have your fingers greasy, stomach happy, and a clean plate when you arrive!!! the famous shrimp plate is no joke- it was the perfect match of fresh veggies and perfectly seasoned shrimp. Staff did well with such a overwhelming line, and we ate at these cute tables next to other food trucks!! highly recommend the spicy level, if you want a mild kick to your meal. the salmon shoyu limu was so smooth and buttery!!!

The service was decent. We waited while the cashier made 3 blue cream sodas. Then she helped us and was kind. We ordered the poke nachos. There was no description on the nachos but we got TORTILLA CHIPS. we were expecting wonton chips. Every other place around here and even the mainland has wonton chips. So that was already not a great impression. Then the fish was just on top. It was just 80% tortilla chips and 20% fish plus the extra toppings we got. Sub par. Tortilla chips were a disappointment. I've never had had poke nachos served to me with tortilla chips. Left disappointed. Would not order. Maybe I should have just ordered something else.

Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and want the "food truck" experience. I got the garlic "headless" spicy shrimp with rice which came with a salad, and was surprised at how filling it would be. Portions were great, and well-seasoned. Mixing the rice with the sauce from the shrimp was so yummy! My only gripe, not specific to this place, is the outdoor area is very prone to flies and so that was a bit annoying to deal with.

It was ~$30 and easily shareable with 2-3 people. Everything tasted great and I loved the smokey flavor and bbq sauce. Beef brisket and short rib were kinda tough and chewy. It came with three sides so I got cole slaw, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Cole slaw and Mac and cheese were solid; Potato salad was just alright. They also gave one warm bun too. The reason I gave 3 stars was because service was extremely slow. It seemed like they were short staff and had one person at the cash register AND getting the food. He would take a few orders, and then grab the food. When I arrived, he was grabbing food for multiple folks so then I stood there waiting like 15 just to place my order. Then when he restarted and took my order, he took like 5 more orders before grabbing the food so then I waited even longer for another 15 min. That's 30 min of waiting! Also he wasn't serving food in the order that orders were received so it felt actually felt even longer. There needs to be a better system! Surprisingly he did a employee discount on my order. Not sure if it's because it was close to closing time. Btw they charge extra if you order to-go because of the supplies for packaging. I think food is alright but wouldn't return and wait that long for bbq.

It was love at first bite for me with musubi and onigiri, so when I saw a spot dedicated to this deliciousness you better believe I made a point to go there! I ran even faster when StaciLei, Yelp Hawaii's amazing Community Manager, told me it's a must and gave me her list of greatest hits and must not miss items as a guide! Now I've had a lot of these in my life, and I must say, Iyasume are easily the best. See musubi and onigiri have humble origins as a quickly made homespun snack or on the go lunch, and when you spot them in the convenience environment they're often a giant ball of rice with a tinge of protein or seasoning for flavor. At Iyasume, these are culinary adventures, stacked with ingredients, all in handheld form, and the variety they offer is IMPRESSIVE! Of course musubi starts with the classic, SPAM. I had to order the kimchi + spam, shiso + spam, and unagi + tamago + spam, all of which were awesome (even the next day!). Onigiri here are actually layered with ingredients, so you get them in every bite, unlike the convenience store versions! They have a HUGE menu, and I went with spicy mentaiko and salmon, spicy mentaiko and ikura, ikura and salmon, and tuna mayo curry, all of which were great. I LOVE that they make these to order. You can see the line in the back hard at work, and they're very fast. You're sure to encounter a line when you arrive, but don't be scared, it moves quickly. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for mine to come up! Well worth it. Reasonably priced. Very filling. A taste of Hawaii and Japan in one place that'll have everyone smiling!

However, after having to abandon our original dinner plans, we were no less intrigued after randomly stumbling across this place. While they may not have been our first choice for dinner, coming here was far more appealing than eating fast food or at the nearby IHOP! Although seeing so many folks at this mini food truck park may have been what caught our attention, it was the boxes of fried chicken on nearly every table that swayed us to try Waikiki Chicken in Paradise in particular. After skimming the menu, it wasn't hard to see why they were such a popular choice - everything on it sounded great. Granted, that's not overly difficult when there are only eight items to choose from, but tough to argue with the likes of fried chicken loco moco, fried chicken curry rice, fried chicken sandwiches, chicken & croffle, and fish & chips! Since we saw how big the portion were and didn't want anything too heavy (read: sadly, no loco moco or Japanese curry), we opted to split a FRIED CHICKEN RICE PLATE ($16.95) which came with a Fried Chicken Cutlet over White Rice with Mac Salad & Green Salad. Funny enough, despite already having a sense of how much food they give, I was still surprised by the generous portion size. As for how it all tasted, this was great. The breading on the chicken reminded me of Popeye's (though, without the spice), the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was rather moist. As for the sides, the mac salad was pretty good, but the salad was a little heavy on dressing. If there was one thing I could change about our order, I think I'd want to see how it would taste with a sauce or glaze. At the very least, I'd definitely go with a different dipping sauce, like their Pineapple Ginger, Lilikoi Mayo, or Guava BBQ, as the Honey Mustard we went with tasted a bit generic. Of course, we could've solved both problems if we had gone with the Fried Chicken Loco Moco or Fried Chicken Curry Rice instead! I guess I'll just have to wait until the next time I'm in Waikiki!
