I've been a regular at Ananas for about a year, and reading some of the recent reviews honestly surprised me. Karin has taken care of us countless times, whether it's a quiet Monday or an absolutely packed one due to the events at the town hall across the street, and they have always been warm, patient, and accommodating. I actually celebrated my birthday here because it's one of my favorite spots. I am part of the large group that one of the recent negative reviews is referring to. It happened immediately after the USA FIFA match, and the restaurant was the busiest I've ever seen it. Despite that, Karin still went out of their way to accommodate our requests that normally wouldn't be possible due to the rush, including trying to help with separate tabs when they'd already explained that large groups would likely need to stay on one check. As for things like grabbing water, silverware, plates, or chili flakes...our table had already gotten those before a majority of the group arrived. It's a casual pizzeria, on one of their busiest days ever. Setting and cleaning up the table (especially when seated outside) is not a problem for our group as we do it every week. Which is why it's upsetting that we opened our spot to someone that left such a nasty review. What stood out to me wasn't poor service. It's that despite how overwhelming it must have been to work post-FIFA, Karin was able to take orders, bartend, serve food, and close out checks with professionalism. Sometimes no matter how much effort someone puts in, not everyone leaves happy. The pizza is fantastic! I love showing up every week and trying what new slice they have come up with (in the year that I've been coming here there legit hasn't been a repeat). Have been going to this neighborhood spot every week for a year with friends, such a great spot for a casual bite. The reason my friends and I keep coming back is the main bartender Karin, who's always so adept at managing large parties w folks coming/going, including being honest with us about if there is time to split checks or order as a table, a pretty common thing at a smaller spot. We just left, hungry, disappointed and appalled at the rude behavior. We went because we had come in before late night on a different day and we loved their food. We stood in line for 5 mins and we had no problem with that because it was when the world cup game had ended. We got asked, "how many?" We said, "two, please." she then scans the room and says, "are you both over 21? because there's seating at the bar and in that corner over there." The corner seating was this stool seating behind a big pilar but honestly you can't really see it. I saw a spot and told my boyfriend to ask if we could take it. He did and immediately she snapped back at him, "I'd rather save that for a bigger party but you can sit that the bar." and he said, "I'd rather not. Can we just have a table?" and then she said "Okay go ahead." while rolling her eyes and turning around and walking away. I knew from that moment that she wasn't gonna serve us well or was going to do something with the food. Another lady asked us while we were deciding, "how many you guys?!" I said "two, can we sit here please?" She was a bit nicer and explained that she wanted to have it for a party of 4. We just said okay and talked amongst ourselves still deciding. I told him yeah I don't feel comfortable here. I tried to tough it out and we went to sit at the bar. The first lady with no eyebrows and face piercings then asked us, "What? You're not gonna sit over there? What did she tell you? That you can't sit there right." I got upset with her tone and said, "yeah you guys just told us that we can't sit there, so we're gonna sit here." She then was like, "well shes the big boss if she says no then thats it." I was very shocked by her attitude and responses. I wasn't the only one because a couple that was sitting two feet away from us were shaking their heads and rolling their eyes like they were in shock to. We stared at each other for a bit because we all couldn't believe how rude and the tone they were having with us. I finally said "Should we just go? Yeah, let's just go." I got me and my boyfriend up and left. I wasn't going to sit there and feel uncomfortable and unwanted in a place where I am choosing to dine in and get served with shitty service. I really hope this reaches the management team or the owner because this cannot be happening in a food industry service. read more

I've been here a few times now and wanted to leave an honest review based on my overall experiences, especially tonight. The pizza itself is actually pretty good, which is why I kept coming back and really wanted to support this small business. Unfortunately, the customer service and wait times have consistently been disappointing. Tonight, I stood at the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged or greeted me. The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. This is my favorite NY style pizza in Seattle! The crust is thin and crispy on the bottom but has just the right amount of chew. What differentiates this place from other pizzerias is the interesting topping combinations. They used to have a Lao sausage pizza that was my favorite but they recently got rid of it. My usual order here is the half and half pizza with Magic Mario and the weekly special. I love a white pizza and the Magic Mario is packed with cheesy mushroomy goodness. The mushrooms are super meaty and earthy and packed with umami which complements the cheese and truffle oil really well. I usually like getting the weekly special because it's always interesting and different. Despite the name of this place being ananas (meaning pineapple), I cannot recommend getting the pineapple pizza. I already don't like pineapple on pizza but this was a whole new level of bad. It was like they poured a whole can of pineapple juice on the pizza. It was soupy and the crust was soggy. Everything else is really good though. read more

If you're not a non-meat pizza believer you have to try the greenhouse pizza! Ultimate flavor bomb. The herby pesto drizzle pairs so well with the tangy red sauce along with the creamy ricotta. I also tried the garden of eatin' pizza; this one was alright as it reminded me a lot of a typical supreme pizza (very flavorful cremini mushrooms though). A little overpriced for what it is, but would say it's for those who want to "stick to what they know." Decent pizza crust; fluffy but borderline overly floppy. Wished the garlic knots had more of a garlic, vampire-defying, punch to them like the knots at NYC pizzerias. Much more pizza-crust-taste-forward; would say order these if you just want extra carbs for your pints of beer. :p Great service! Cool vibes! We came here last Tuesday and the building was tucked away in between two tall buildings! We also came at a good time, closer to 5. There were only 2 ppl and by the time we left, it was packed! The place has that red mood lighting and the decors are pretty out of this world. We got slices off the happy hour menu and tried a twisted tea along with a strawberry rhubarb margarita! The garlic Parmesan chicken wings were the HIT! Along with their made-in-house, dill ranch! Pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza was! I'm not normally a fan of pineapple on my pizza but I figured I had to give the Ananas pizza a try. So glad I did. Found this neighborhood classic on Yelp after arriving downtown at 10:30pm and about 12 hours since my last meal. This is one of those places you walk in and it feels right. The Manager Josh had a room full and welcomed me and had an epic Hood River Oregon Japanese style lager from pFreim that is epic. I had a salad and several slices. Pizza is spot on. Their pizzas are massive so great to share with a group, and between the 6 of us we got 2 pizzas which was pretty much the perfect amount. We chose the birds eye honey and greenhouse, both of which were so delicious! They were loaded with toppings, and the crust was thin yet sturdy. Great pizza but at a slightly higher price! We decided to finally check out the spot that is located in the first hill neighborhood. It is tucked away between Seneca and Spring Street on its own, I'm surprised I never walked by this spot before as it is a slightly more residential area tucked between condos. It was a busy Friday night, and the place was packed, though thankfully not too much of a line or a wait. The staff was very friendly despite being overwhelmed by all the people. We got two pizzas, which were plenty of food. We tried the cheese pizza and the Green pizza with chicken. They were both very good! The cheese pizza had multiple types of cheese and was delicious! The other had a great addition with the ricotta cheese and basil and artichokes. The only thing was that each pizza was over $30 and so this meal was over $75 after tip. Service was a little on the slower side because it was a full house due to the World Cup but the two girls who were working crushed it. For the comments complaining how slow the service is, where do you have to be? You're in a rush to go to a job you hate or home to sit in front of a television and do absolutely nothing. Early Friday dinner with a coworker and we got in before the crowd arrived. The vaulted ceiling gives the room depth, character, and the lighting reminded me of the Venetian in Las Vegas. Had a slice of Ananas signature pie: yes it has pineapple and it's a good crunchy thin slice. Tried the hot honey wings with ranch. Loved the honey glaze: not overly sweet and the carmelized bits provided a nice crunch at the end of each wing/drummette. Would have enjoyed them a little spicier but that's personal preference. Not a typical/fast food ranch, maybe house made? Distinctive taste but it doesn't pair with the honey. Garlic bites with marinara were yummy! Cheese evenly distributed and not super heavy on garlic. Visited there on the afternoon of 5/31/26. The pizza was outstanding but unfortunately the service took away from the experience. The only server working made us feel as if we were not wanted and there were only two other patrons there so it wasn't as if she was busy. As soon as we sat down I immediately mentioned to my family that I wanted to leave just by how we were greeted. We had been walking all day so decided to stay. It was some of the worst service I've experienced. If we lived here we would never eat there but rather order out. If you don't want to be in the service industry then find something else. The Lao Pizza has Khao soi pork, Lao lardons, bamboo shoot, red onion, dill, provolone,mozzarella, and red sauce. Those are definitely not typical pizza toppings you would find at your local Dominos, instead they're flavorful and full umami. If you're unfamiliar with Lao Food, it is a cuisine that definitely packs a punch of amazing flavors. That's what the Lao pizza gave off! My group also got the Bird's Eye Honey and Ananas Pizza. Both of they were as great as the Lao Pizza but probably was a bit greasy. Other than that, Ananas Pizzeria is a great environment for hanging out with a group of friends and for having a good time. A Caesar salad for $6. The drinks are all around $10 and you can get a decent slice of pizza for a few dollars. Lots of hard liquor options. A very small but decent beer selection.
