The sauce suffered slightly from a snotty texture, misfortune at the hand of cornflour. The sauce flavor was good though. Palak Paneer: LOADS of cheese! And good cheese too. Texture of the curry wasn't great and it could use more spice, but otherwise good. These guys could be a serious contender(may have been an off night) I think the phone system here is on its way out. Next were the garlic naans, which were soft and chewy in all the right proportions. The waiter was adorable. He seemed shy and nervous, while being very attentive and helpful at the same time. He noticed that my date had not ordered any raita with his rice (for he is unschooled in the ways of Indian dining), and offered him some mint chutney for free. Which my date greedily downed, of course, extolling its virtues the whole way through. The chicken was excellent, it was moist, and yielding, and scrumptious. The naans were delicious, and the service was good. The only downside; the rice was a little clumpy. That was a bit of a disappointment, but it wasn't overly unpleasant. From the moment we arrived, the service was chaotic and disrespectful. The restaurant had no bottled water available, and despite repeatedly asking for Coke for our daughter because she was thirsty, the staff ignored us multiple times. At one point, when my daughter politely approached the counter, one of the staff members rudely told her, "Go back to your seat." She waited patiently, then approached another stewardess and politely said, "Could you please serve me Coke as I'm thirsty?" The response she received was simply, "It's fine." We then had to ask three different staff members before the Coke was finally served. Meanwhile, the cashier/in-charge for the coke to be served, loudly said to another steward, "De toh rahi hu," in an irritated tone, which was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. We had ordered Banquet #3 for three people ($52.99 per person). The snacks that arrived were completely tasteless. Things became worse during the main course. One of the stewardesses came to place cutlery on the table and while I was on my phone, she handled the plate so carelessly and aggressively that my husband had to take it from her hand to avoid it hitting me. The behaviour felt condescending and disrespectful. I chose to remain quiet at the time because I did not want to ruin the celebration. The Goan fish smelled so bad that it completely put us off our meal. After that, we could barely eat. Throughout the evening, only one staff member bothered to ask whether we needed anything else. Despite leaving a large amount of food unfinished because of the terrible experience, none of the staff cared to ask if something was wrong or even offered dessert before we left as it was a part of the the order , Banquet#3. We ended up paying $176 for what was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences we have had. The Beef massaman is the best I have ever had. Pad Prik, Rice noodle, argh, nearly every dish is superb but it doesn't stop there. Such curteous, generous staff. They refill your water, always see when your done or if you need more rice (which you could help yourself but they will smile/take over if you do, which I find top quality service). The venue is so tranquil, with its beautiful canary yellow over shade and blossom tree's, no wonder its the locals favourite in Pennant Hills, because the manager there listens to feedback, and follow through. I just wish this place could win awards, because it really is an amazing place. It's been here longer than other thai places, and despite competition they are still there unlike most restaraunts in that area who come and go. There was a police sergeant of some description eating lunch here - always a good sign as the local coppers always eat well no matter where you are! It's also BYO with no corkage.
