I got a very rare disease called Sarcoidosis which is very debilitating. I felt I could no longer do the program due to its demanding schedule. I wanted my $4,500 back. Kessler said "he wasn't in the habit of taking money from people and not providing a service" in one conversation. However, he refused to give any of it back. The program was not full and he probably was hurting for money. Just be careful this guy. Make sure you've done your due diligence. He offered to hold the money and I could sign up in 3 years. No thank you. I'm out $4,500 and he's sitting pretty.

Tony Treston (affiliated with…read moreWaltz Time) was my instructor; he demonstrates the basics of waltzing in an easygoing manner. My first lesson was no pressure and I felt like I made a lot of progress. BTW, this is not Viennesse waltzing, which is a formalized style of waltzing. The kind of waltzing taught here is more of a "garden variety", and done by cultures all over the world. It's a 3-step candance (slow, quick quick), and anyone can do it, seriously. It might be the best $13 that I ever spent. That's the cost of admission, which includes a 45 minute lesson, followed by nearly 3 hours of dance time with a live band. The Spanish Ballroom, where the social dances are held, is a premier venue. The building itself is Art Deco architecture and considered to be one of the best ballrooms of its kind on the East Coast. The interior is decorated tastefully and lighted well. The expansive floor is made of a lovely maple wood. The live music is such a treat as the acoustics here are top notch. The social dances are a lot of fun, and waltzing isn't the only style offered--there's contra dancing; tango dancing; swing dancing; blues dancing, etc. The social dance calendar is quite extensive. We had an excellent afternoon painting pottery here! We stopped by around 3pm on a Saturday and…read morethey were busy! Make reservations if you're coming on the weekend! The very nice staff squeezed us in at a table in the back. After we sat, we had the difficult problem of picking what to paint! They do a bunch of stuff here- mosaics, sign painting, and of course pottery. They have tons and tons of items! We wanted to paint practical things but there are so many cute options- salt and pepper shakers, a disco ball cookie jar, Pokémon planters! But we did pick plates and bowls that we knew we would use frequently. Once we picked out what to paint, the staff explained the basics to us. We asked them for help a few times with different techniques, and their guidance made a huge difference! They can show you how to use stamps, silkscreens, and other techniques. They were super kind and patient too, even on such a busy day. Our results were really great! We'll be happy to pick them up in a week when they're ready. One last note- they offer free popcorn while you paint!

The Amazing Art Studio was celebrating their 22nd anniversary and my granddaughters and I attended…read more We each worked on a ceramics project. There were prizes being given out each hour to help celebrate the 22nd anniversary. We had been there for about 20 minutes and no one came by to give us a raffle ticket. So, I went up to ask about it and I was told they would be over soon. Well, they never made it over and the first round of prizes went by with my granddaughters not having their tickets in the basket. We did get in the second raffle drawing, but I was disappointed with the way it was handled. The Amazing Art Studio still has the best ceramics pieces to choose from. They also have a wide variety of paints to choose from. Unfortunately, it was so crowded and not all of the paint colors were available. Luckily, through the kindness of others, tables shared paints. There was also a little mix up with my reservation. I called and asked for an earlier time, since the girl's weren't in school that day. The owner told me to send her an email and she would take care of it. When, we got there she had not changed the time and I had to share with her the email I sent. They did work us in at a table in the studio. I had put a $30 dollar deposit for the event. We have been to The Amazing Art Studio about 9 times. We always had great service. The paint selection has always been plentiful. I just think they were not prepared for the amount of people at this special event. I did deduct one star for the reasons stated above. We will definitely go back and work on other ceramics pieces. I may have second thoughts about attending special events. The art pieces themselves came out great. My granddaughter's did such a great job and they enjoy it so very much.
