I've had Anaya on my list for some time now but always ended up choosing something else in the past. Tonight I learned what a mistake that was! I've been to most of the "best seafood in Dallas" spots at all price points. At least food-wise, what I had tonight could compete with if not surpass most. The Ruby Red trout was not only delicious but very good size for the reasonable price ($21.95). The service was friendly and welcoming with solid suggestions. The "soup flight" offered to first time visitors was a nice touch and made me realize I'll be ordering the gumbo on my next visit! The clam chowder was great, too! The ambiance is more than acceptable and probably the thing that prevented me from coming here in the past. Reality ended up far surpassing my expectations. Similar to Amberjax Fish Market that used to be in Trinity Grove. I assume the other three locations are equally impressive given their similar Yelp scores, so get yourself to one of their locations fast! You won't regret it! read more

Wow! Came here on a Friday evening for the first time and it did not disappoint. Was greeted and seated promptly; Chef brought out a plate of soup samples as he greeted me. They asked if it was my first time , and brought since it was. The gumbo and clam chowder were the best , will return to try more of the menu. The food was delicious , full of flavor and the oysters were fresh but a bit over priced at $17.95 for six char grilled oysters. The oysters was covered with cheddar cheese rather than the Parmesan cheese im use to. The smoked peach old fashion was one of the best I've had in a long time. Very nice and attentive staff too. Honestly, everything is alright, but this is not standout seafood. And the service. This guy obviously did not want to be there. We sat for 15 minutes before he came to take our order and we were in a virtually empty restaurant. He dropped our food off without a word or a look in the eyes. When we asked for to go boxes at the end of the meal, he took a couple of our empty plates to the kitchen, came back out, and walked to the door to chat with another waiter... like he immediately forgot about the to go boxes? Let's start off with the customer service was phenomenal! Happy Hour let's say keep them coming... All premium drinks were on the menu and they were really really good! I ordered the honey mango garlic salmon 10 out 10 I totally forgot pictures due to I was super excited with how pleasant the server was and once I got my food it was an immediate dive in. All day happy hour Saturday and Sunday had me sold on trying this place out. Now I will say the happy hour margarita could of been better had to much sour mix in it. So next time will have to just settle with a beer. Now to the food! When it's your first time they provide you soup samples my absolute favorite was the poblano soup it was so refreshing and tasty. I opted for the shrimp Alfredo it was delicious yall. My daughter however got there shrimp dynamite tacos and the sauce was overly dressed and the Mayo taste was so overpowering and we didn't get any spice from it so that was the only disappointment regarding food. I stumbled on this restaurant searching through yelp. It was quite a find. The seafood is excellent. They have a chalkboard with daily featured menu items and a wonderful menu consisting of all types of seafood. I have enjoyed the poblano soup that was absolutely spectacular. I initially came for the crabcakes, but it took me two visits before I ever ordered it, it was well worth my weight very good portion size and taste. The service is personable and friendly without being over attentive. There are a couple of new people but older people who keep an eye on them and make sure that all of the tables get good service. It's not a very large restaurant, but it should be considered for family dinners or just neighborhood get together. They can seat anywhere from one to 14 people without any problem whatsoever. They feature a lot of Cajun spicing. They tout it from New Orleans but my mother says the gumbo was not of the New Orleans variety. I had the crab bisque soup and hushpuppies for my appetizers. For my entree, I got the shrimp fettuccine but I added crab meat to it. Omg so good. I also had some of my friend's wood plank salmon sooooo good! 10/10 and will definitely be back! The service could've been better. It took our server a while to bring checks and close us out. Until this week, I had only ordered from Anaya's via DoorDash with a fantastic meal always delivered. I had the pleasure of dining in the Addison location and from start to finish, I continue to give this establishment high marks. The staff are very pleasant, with management checking on us regularly to ensure our experience was pleasant. The food & desserts....Oh My Gosh! I have never eaten at a restaurant where EVERYTHING is good!! And this is true at any of their locations, as my DoorDash orders have come from all three. My wife and I visited Dallas for the eclipse and decided to try Anaya's Seafood our first night in the area. The website is very easy to use and the menu was easy to read. There looked to be lots of options that a normally picky eater such as myself would consider, so it seemed like a great place to try. Upon entering, we chose to sit in a booth and were greeted immediately for drink orders. Anaya's has a small selection of Pepsi products and a reasonable drink menu, so my wife got some kind of drink with a spice around the rim. She liked her drink. I got a Pepsi. After a day of traveling to get there, my wife and I weren't starving and opted to share a couple things. We got the coconut shrimp appetizer and split a fish and chips. The coconut shrimp weren't bad, but seemed overcooked. The breading on them was a little too crunchy. They sauces provided with it were great and were on the side -- which is a good thing because one of the items was a wasabi aioli. Apparently, I don't like wasabi as I tried it and it isn't good. Probably great for someone that likes it. The other two sauces combined with the shrimp were very good, though. The fish and chips was pretty standard fare. There wasn't anything about the fries or the fish itself that really sticks out. We did get a large portion however, and the price point for it was very reasonable. I was expecting a smaller portion for the price, actually, there is a great value for the buck with it. It even comes with a couple hush puppies and my wife really enjoyed those. For me, this location is a solid 4.5. Parts of the food experience were great and others were average. However, our waitress was very nice, checked on us regularly, and the atmosphere is reasonably laid back. If I was in the area, I would go here again and try some other things on the menu as they had a lot of items I would have been interested in trying. read more

I dont throw 5 stars out often but this place gets 4.5! I ordered an assortment of entre's for my team luncheon that I picked up. Tommie took my order over the phone and was very patient with my poor cell phone signal. I ordered Anaya's Chicken; Shrimp & Chicken Fettuccine; Baja Tacos; Gumbo; and Blackened Catfish. Upon arrival the dining room was filled with aromatics from the kitchen, which is exactly what you want to smell when you walk into a food establishment. The only food I sampled was the gumbo and the fettuccine. The gumbo was flavorful and seasoned well but was mixed with more rice than I like and the shrimp were mushy. I still enjoyed it but deducted 1/2 star. It also contained okra, which was fine for me since I enjoy okra. The fettuccine was in a rich heavy creme sauce w/sun dried tomatoes, chopped asparagus, chicken, and large shrimp garnished on top. It was a perfect melody of balanced flavors and texture. read more

On Monday evening, September 1st - Labor Day - we dined with friends around 6:30pm. On the large chalkboard the restaurant lists specials of the day. We sat in the second booth away from the chalkboard. Because my back was to tit, I asked my friend who was facing it about the pricing of one of the specials, as I wasn't certain.. Both she and her husband confirmed the price as $17.95. I ordered it when the waiter came around and after a leisurely meal and cocktails we received our bill. The special was charged at $27.95. I questioned the waiter, and he returned the bill as printed. The manager went to the chalkboard and washed the price off and rewrote it as $27.95. Does that seem to you like an admission of unclear writing? Wouldn't you think that he would agree to adjust the meal? ( And at least wait until we were gone before washing and rewriting the price?) At most, there were less than 10 other people in the restaurant for the 2 plus hours we were there. We will not return. read more

I highly recommend checking out Anaya's Seafood Scratch Kitchen. Staff were friendly and attentive, our waitress took great care of us. Loved the decor as well. Felt like home with a touch of upscale. Apparently they also have brunch on the weekends. Ordered the margarita flight my favorite was the mango. For starters we chose the crab cakes, Mac and cheese w/ crab, hush puppies, and dynamite shrimp. As a MD native these crab cakes are 10/10, straight crab and flavor. Entrees were the Alabama fish and shrimp, fettuccine, dynamite shrimp tacos, and cedar plank salmon. Really enjoyed all of the dishes. Great presentation and delicious taste. First time visit to Anaya's. They offer fantastic fresh seafood which is beautifully presented. After starting with the crab bisque, the manager brought by a trio of soups to sample. He said this is offered to all first timers. The gumbo was my fav, followed by clam chowder, crab bisque, and poblano cream soup. I thought this was a nice touch. My blackened trout was so lovely. Definitely a special dish. The lemon caper sauce was a bit mild in flavor for me, so I topped it with a few spoonfuls of the crab bisque. Delish! I heard another patron mention that the Mac n cheese crab cakes should be offered at the State Fair. So you must try them for me. The decor is yacht club/beach with Spanish /Mexican folk songs playing. So my only suggestion might be for them to tighten up the theme. Not sure if meant to be creole, Mexican gulf shores or seafood house vibe but the food is great. read more

Anaya's easily gets 5 stars because the food is great and it's an amazing value! The service here is friendly and welcoming. It's set in a strip mall on Knoll Trail and Arapaho. The decor is plain. But what Anaya's lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for with flavor and value. It is a seafood restaurant with a Latin/ Carribean/ Cajun/ Creole twist. We had the crab cakes, which were terrific! Then, I was undecided as to what soup I wanted to get and they were kind enough to provide me with a sampler of all the soups. It was a tough choice because they were all soooo good, but I ultimately went with the Crab Bisque. An excellent soup with lots of crab meat- definitely a fine-dining caliber soup! My husband had the Ruby Red Trout, which looked amazing and he said tasted great! We finished up the meal with a Vanilla Flan. It was a little on the dry side, but still very good. The food here was an incredible value and there was no wait to be seated on a Sunday evening. This is one of those great family owned, neighborhood establishments that you hope never goes away. The location in Plano is the best. Great food and great service. The fish is very fresh . Their salads are delicious with grilled chicken. The housemaid dressing is a light white balsamic dressing. The lettuce is always super fresh. I think the one I get is called the house salad.. The tables are not too close together and like I said, the hosts and the bartender and servers are really good . Nice seating with booths and tables . They do a lot of business with large families. We go at least three times a month. read more

We like the neighbourhood restaurant. Food and service are always good and they are great at modifying the menu item to your individual tastes. Very diverse menu and specials change regularly, especially like when they have snapper or grouper on the menu, being inland it is hard to get fresh seafood, Drinks from the bar are generous and very good, at a fair price. Visiting from out of town and relied on YELP reviews. I'm so glad we did. First, the atmosphere. The entire staff welcomes you as though you are family. Our waiter, Guillermo, could not have been nicer. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. Being a rookie to Anaya's, we were given a sample of all 4 soups. Very nice touch and very good soups. I had blackened redfish and the wife had a chicken dish. Both excellent. We split a Flan and it too was excellent. The cocktails, superb. Best margarita I've ever had, as was the Old Fashioned. I wish we could have this restaurant in Memphis. I'm really jealous of North Dallas. So me & my friend and her family decided to try this seafood spot. The ambiance was nice as the Restuarant was really nice and super busy. When we first sat down it too almost 10-15 mins before a waiter came to greet us. We then kept getting three different waiters. But after a while it was ok as it seemed as if all of them were in sync. For Drinks I had the Old Fashion, and my friend had a virgin Anaya's Coco Cabana and her man had the Coco Cabana with alcohol. Everyone enjoyed their drinks as they were made just right. The icing on the cake is that this Restuarant has an all day happy hour on Sat & Sun. All cocktails are only 7.95. For appetizers we had the calamari, dynamite shrimp, crab cakes, hush puppies & char grilled oysters. The calamari, hush puppies & shrimp were all amazing. Very flavorful. The oyster were not bad but nothing to write home about. Being from Louisiana, I was expecting more from the char grilled oysters but I was not impressed. I think they should def add fresh parsley, garlic & butter along with the cheese to their oysters. That would make them WAY better instead of only adding cheese and throwing on the grill. The crab cakes were decent but I have honestly had better. I think they should add a better sauce something reminiscent of the remoulade sauce. The crab & shrimp stuffed salmon was very good. I was not a fan of the crusted herb cod but my friend said that it was decent, he enjoyed it. The winner of the night was the bourbon red snapper . The flavor and the cornbread was to die for. Honestly the best dish that was on the table! The crawfish sauce was amazing over the fish. The Mac & cheese and fries were for the child. I did not taste the Mac but the fries were just simply fries. I would say adding some salt & pepper to the fries would be great! All & All the Restuarant was really good. Absolutely the best crab bisque I have had in Dallas. Because I was a first time guest they brought a flight of soup samples on the house. It consisted of crab bisque, clam chowder, gumbo, and roasted poblano cream soup. All were totally excellent. When I say 10/10 I wish our hotel had a microwave so I could warm up my leftovers because it was that good! The waitress was so patient and we ordered a few different things since typically when we visit Dallas we aren't on this side of town. It wasn't super fancy but the music reminded me somewhat of some of our local taquerias back home so that was very nice and welcoming as well. The good: Food was hot and pretty good for the most part. The bad: We ordered to go & the plating of the food didn't make sense. Why would you put my grilled fish on TOP of my cornbread? Not to mention there was a bed of spinach as well also soaking the cornbread from the bottom. No one wants wet cornbread. We came here to eat twice after several people recommended it and it did not disappoint. Both times we ordered the same thing but no regrets were made. I love fish tacos and their baja fish taco, which is more of a wrap, made me so incredibly happy. I have this fond memory of when I was a kid and eating this giant seafood burrito thing at Long John Silvers. Of course they stopped making it soon after but this wrap reminded me of it! It's full of fried fish, pico and salad mixture with incredible rice and beans on the side. Everything here is so bright and fresh and looks amazing, including the drinks. This has become our favorite restaurant for fish. We went again tonight with two guests. We all shared the shrimp and crab queso which was rich and had plenty of shrimp and crabmeat. Hubby had the tuna which was done perfectly along with a generous amount of asparagus and mashed potatoes. I had the ruby red trout with spinach and substituted veggies for potatoes. The fish was so fresh and the veggies were still a bit crisp just the way I like them. One guest had the cedar plank salmon, she said it was outstanding. Our other guest has to eat gluten free. The staff were very good about substituting potatoes for the cornbread and a different "soup" with the redfish. The mixed drinks were very reasonable. B was our waitperson.
