I knew the church emphasized modesty, and I was already embarrassed because I had come straight from work as a fitness instructor and was wearing leggings. I wished I had something else to change into, but I didn't. I almost didn't go inside, but I was struggling emotionally and reminded myself that Jesus accepts us as we are. Unfortunately, a woman approached me and told me not to come back to the church dressed like that. I went to my car and cried. I came looking for Jesus and community during a time when I desperately needed both, and instead I left feeling ashamed and unwelcome. That experience has stuck with me.

Choir and piano area to the left most of the space, which contributes to the good acoustics. Spacious parking lot with several entrances and exits, a definite plus during the beginning and end of each Mass service. Numerous other sacred spaces with religious statues. Great for quiet and solo contemplation or prayer. Interior has a very unusual structure - a large marquee style area above the altar- I've never seen that anywhere and I've been to cathedrals in Italy and Spain and the Holy Land. I was here for a friend's memorial service, the priest had a deacon celebrate with him. Deacon Joshua had very comforting words to say to the grieving family. Missals provided I. I was discipled by the woman at this church and have learned a lot from attending Sunday School as well. There are many helping hands who care for my spiritual well-being here. There are multiple ministries and groups to be plugged into. There are also a lot of resources for new believers and believers who want to be involved and connected. During the early worship the music sounds amazing because the church band uses the theater's sound system. I really enjoy that the sermons are easy for me to understand and always supported by scripture. You will leave with so much joy in your heart. Highly recommended! They are located at the Performing Arts Theater in Downtown Covina. They rent the theater for their church services every Sunday morning.

It been now 10 months at Efree and we are finally almost wrapping up our 10 week rooted program. It's been the most special experience in our faith and our 10+ years walk with Christ now. Had to find a church so that my knowledge would grow. My pastor cousin told me about this church and said if he wasn't a pastor at his church, this would be the church for him. Right off the bat, that got me intrested. So I went and was hooked. People were super friendly, but not in your face. Programs they have here are the best. Sermons really hit my soul and touched me with laughter and insight. Church was smaller than Calvary, which was a relief. Love coming here and actually being able to find a seat in the sanctuary. Major holidays like Easter is packed, so beware of parking!
