We received the itinerary for each trip before we left home and were able to check and make sure our trips were exactly what we had hoped for. After losing my husband, suffering injuries in a car accident, and the tragic death of my brother in the war, I needed a peaceful healing vacation at the hot springs in Costa Rica. I clearly told the travel agent, Pat, that I ONLY wanted hot springs and that I was NOT interested in any beach vacation. What I received was the exact opposite. Out of all the days, only ONE visit to the hot springs was scheduled. The next day I was sent on a full-day mountain hike with hanging bridges and steep trails. I am 68 years old and was physically exhausted -- I ended up with severe back and foot pain and spent the entire third day lying in bed. The travel agent never warned me about this level of physical activity. Then, without explanation, I was transported across the entire country to the ocean, even though I specifically said I did NOT want a beach vacation. An entire day was wasted on travel. I then spent four days at a beach where swimming was impossible due to rocks and strong waves -- nothing like what I asked or paid for. And the "final straw": the agency booked me a seat directly in front of the airplane bathroom, with a door that wouldn't close automatically. I had to ask passengers to close it or get up and close it myself, even though about 20% of the cabin seats were empty. This travel agency completely ruined my trip -- a trip that was extremely important to me and extremely expensive. This was the worst travel experience of my life. I rate it one star and do not recommend this agency.
