We not only cannot recommend JPG, we would strongly caution against using them. In spite of planning together with the photographer and being clear about our intentions not to photograph the prep, we had to wait for them to set up after we were long ready. The 14 weeks from event to actual pictures were astonishing. Even more so after getting them and seeing just how little thought and effort went into their editing and "organization". Also - be prepared to be referred to your contract repeatedly. They will hold it up anytime you ask for something.

When the big day came, we felt very comfortable with him and he (along with 2 other photographers) did a great job managing our family and bridal party for group shots. Many guests commented that our photographers were awesome throughout the evening. This skill should not be overlooked when you are evaluating a wedding photographer! In the end, we were thrilled with the quality and variety of pictures. The photo journalistic style captured the true essence of the day and there were a lot of really fun shots. To top it off, all of JPG's wedding packages include a DVD or thumb drive of high-res images with personal use rights - which means you have full flexibility when it comes to albums and prints. Bottom line: JPG brought the style, quality, and personality we were looking for at a competitive price. I had avoided doing so because I understand how hard it can be for small businesses, especially in the wedding industry, and I do not leave negative reviews lightly. That said, the request brought the experience back, and I feel it is worth sharing for other couples. We originally booked J & J Studios during lockdown in 2020 for our April 2022 wedding. In January 2022, after I received a serious medical diagnosis, my husband and I had to postpone our wedding to October. Our venue and every other vendor worked with us, requested reasonable documentation, and did not require additional payment. J & J handled things differently. We were told we would need to pay a new deposit to hold the new date, plus an additional fee because they were unlikely to rebook our original date. We were told that if they did book it, the extra cost would be refunded. With significant medical bills at the time, that added cost was not feasible. For context, about two months after we postponed, I had a friend inquire about our original April date, and she was told it was booked. I wish the experience had been different. We were willing to meet them in the middle as far as the additional payment given the circumstances but they felt they could not at the time. I understand that businesses have policies, but during an already difficult and emotional time, we were left feeling unsupported.

I chose boudoir as I havent done it before and I was feeling not so great about my body recently. I am SO glad I did it! Since i dont live in Philly I booked a hotel nearby and made a weekend of it. I was the first shoot of the day so I arrived at the studio the same time as my photographer Shannon and she was so great! We got in and got settled quickly then talked through the "why" of why I chose boudoir then we went through the items i brought and some that they had to pick my outfits. I opted to have them do my makeup since i pretty much suck at it and it was much cheaper than going out to buy all the items I would need. Shannon did a great job at it and I kept "my face on" the rest of the day and got so many compliments. Then on to the actual photos. I felt so comfortable in the presence of a stranger dressing down to lingerie and this is mostly because Shannon has such a great personality. She makes you feel comfortable. The poses were fun and she demonstrated each one and answered questions as we went through. i get kinda awkward with my hands so it was nice to have someone re adjust them and make sure every piece of hair was in the right place. it really showed in the photos i received! I had given myself a limit ahead of time as to how many pictures i would purchase so that I wouldn't go crazy and it was easy to go crazy. they sent me about 90 photos both in color and black and white and I loved a lot of them. Those i didnt love wasnt anyone's fault but my own.. I didnt love the third outfit i chose for myself and I didnt work on my "sexy face" as the website suggest so i felt some looked a little awkward, kinda like me trying to hard to be sexy. Overall i have some great shots from the shoot and some awesome birthday memories! I got the digital prints (they send them in color and in black and white) so i cant wait to make canvases of them to display in my walk in closet. He was cool enough to play Rihanna's essential playlist per my request. I was definitely vibin' to my girl RiRi playing in the background while me and my man just kind of got into each other and Mike allowed (and helped guide) us to make some magic happen in front of the camera lens.
