We were walking through Viktualienmarkt when we passed by this stand and the wonderful aroma…read moreimmediately caught our attention. After looking at the menu, we noticed they offered some interesting meats at reasonable prices. The line moved quickly, and the food was handed to us right after ordering.
We ordered the Hirschbratwurst sandwich (€5), which is made with half deer and half pork. It comes simply with the sausage and mustard on a bun. The bun was quite thick, which felt like too much bread, so we ended up tossing one side. With just one bun, the sandwich felt more balanced and tasted better overall.
The sausage itself was fairly large, juicy enough, and flavorful. However, there wasn't a very distinct deer flavor and tasted similar to a pork sausage.
