Another thing that I love is that my insurance pays them directly, whereas the old clinic i went to I would have to pay out of pocked and then be reimbursed. Shortly thereafter he moved to his current W. Broadway location and I followed him there even though it's not very convenient for me but a good dentist is worth the trip. He's always been personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He keeps up on what's current in the dental industry. His office seems to run pretty much like clock work and it is rare to be kept waiting more than 5 minutes past the appointment time. The front office staff is the best - friendly and nice every single time I've visited the office. One staff in particular, Antonella, has been with him for eons and that says a lot about how Dr. Okamura must be as an employer. His dental assistant has also been with him for years too, but the hygienists always seem to come and go. Years ago when extensive work was required with not much dental covererage, Dr. Okamura even accepted postdated cheques. I've never forgotten that and think it shows the epitome of his character. If you're looking for a great friendly Dentist then Dr. Wayne Okamura fits the bill to a tee.

A childhood trauma with an ahole dentist still makes me nervous, but Dr. Mehio and the team were so kind and so knowledgeable, I can hardly wait to go back. I will be getting my first tooth extraction in a couple of days (for braces) and Dr. Karkanis clearly outlined what would happen and put my mind at ease. A shout out to Kaitlyn as well for being super nice and making me feel comfortable. One memorable experience: After I experienced some jaw pain, I came to see her to check things out. My teeth were all fine, so nothing she could do, but she suggested I go to a RMT who specializes in intra-oral massage. I had NEVER heard of this before, but I went to the specific RMT she mentioned and it was life changing. Seriously. After just one session, my jaw pain was gone. I was so relieved and grateful! Everyone must bill 3.5 unit of scaling along with other procedures as a must.. is it legal? Or over billing? Shouldn't be it as work and time needed? It's about making more money

Our family works with 2 hygienists for cleanings, Viktoriya and Kelly, both are top notch and work with extreme attention to detail! I have recently completed phase 1 of a tooth implant process. It happens to be one of my very front teeth and you can imagine how vulnerable that might make you feel. Dr. Kwong is the dental surgeon that did the procedure and I was nothing less than blown away at how easy and painless it all was. I experienced virtually no pain during or after the procedure. There was very little swelling and absolutely no bruising. At the moment I am fitted with a temporary tooth as the grafting takes place, I will get my permanent implant in July. I'd say he is extremely good at what he does. And I would also have to mention the women who run administration, Michelle and Karolina. Awesomely competent and well organized, super friendly too. I've had bad experiences as a kid/teenager. For weeks, and hours leading up to the appointment, I was getting anxiety and my husband reassured me I was in good hands. My first experience was with the front desk, and the young ladies were lovely and genuine. They had my insurance set up; I didn't need to lift a finger. In LESS THAN 12 hours I got my return from Sunlife (benefits company). It was so simple and quick! The actual office is state of the art, quick, and effective. Everything including X-rays are shown up on LCD TVs in front of you so you know what the dentists plan on fixing or improving. I had Kelly as my dental hygenist. She was kind, relatable, understanding, and empathetic. Did I mention she has a great sense of humour? She was professional and made me feel super comfortable. She demonstrates a true passion for her role and her attention to detail was impeccable. She also explained what plaque and tartar was and how it could impact teeth and gums. During the cleaning process I was fighting to stay awake! I was so relaxed I could have taken a nap! She gave me the remote to the TV and I watched TV and relaxed while she did her thing. Normally I would be gripping the edge of the chair in fear. Dr. Ma is very friendly and understanding. She has a great sense of humour and does her best to make her patients feel welcome. You can also see the openness she has with the hygienists and the sense of partnership they share. The experience from beginning to end has really reduced my fear of dentists and have already booked future appointments with anticipation. I am young and wanting to protect my teeth for decades to come. They have really changed my view of someone putting hands and loud gadgets in my face.
