We had DeLeers come out to look at a small remodeling project. At the appointment, we discussed…read morebudget and ballpark estimates, and Brian felt confident we'd land roughly in the $20k range. He used phrases like "on the high side" and I can't imagine it being more than that," and made us feel assured that our budgeting was appropriate. Given that, we agreed to a deposit of $250 for him to go ahead with a formal quote, per company policy. When the proposal came back, it was $45K, which is more than double what we had discussed. While I understand that quality work and materials are costly, I don't understand how his verbal estimates were so grossly inaccurate, especially when he said he's been working there for 18 years. While I understand the deposit was intended to cover his time in gathering the estimates, and that he "doesn't work for free," a large part of his job is properly estimating potential costs for potential clients, and he did not do that. We agreed to the $250 deposit based on incredibly inaccurate numbers, and when I requested our deposit back, we were denied (twice.) While I don't think it was his intention to be deceptive, we felt swindled out of $250. I was very disappointed that they weren't willing to refund us.

I tried contacting Cody twice after the work was done and never received a response. I contacted him a third time and let him know I expected a response before submitting final payment. I finally received an email response but was told that it wasn't their responsibility because the customer ok's the spray lines. Be warned, they do not measure or make sure things are even unless you specifically ask for it! My husband ok'd the start and end spray lines, which was all that was provided for review, and assumed the semi-circle would be asymmetric. According to Cody, we were supposed to ask them to measure!! This company was totally unwilling to come out and look at the issue or discuss any options outside of offering to redo the job for the cost of what it took to put it in. Very impressed!!…read more Phil of the Remodel Shop did a super job on building our home. To start off we got into a snag regarding the zoning of our lot. Phil went out of his way to resolve this problem, which saved us the stress of either doing it ourselves or finding another lot. He gave us some great ideas that saved us money without sacrificing quality. The workmanship of Phil and subcontractors were super. They were easy to communicate with and very courteous. Our home was completed on time as scheduled. Really impressed when we saw the completed job. Upon finishing the job our house was ready to move in. No litter left behind.

The work him and his flunky did was very low quality. Phil is a con artist and a scam. The people he used for subs were a joke. He cut corners every way he could. Within 4 years almost everything had to be re done. I find out on CCAP that he had been in my house 16 times before and got sued every time. Lots of other lawsuits against him. Look it up for yourself. All these court cases are before I bought the house. When he came here he acted like he didn't know where anything was. Asked me where the bathroom was and he already knew! What a con man and a pice of shit!!!
