Trying to understand after being hung up on. 80 dollars for sns, chrome, special shape, French, and design. When I eliminate special shape and design and chrome, still 70$. The baseline is 55 sns one color. What is the actual price. I'm very upset. Went here for YEARS in the 2000's and things were straightforward. Sent my daughter and had a hysterical man just tell me over and over that she could have only the plain nails for 55 or the 80 dollar option and did not help me to work out a different plan or give us options that might work better. Now i never want to go back and my daughter is disappointed on her birthday. Not to mention his first move was to loudly announce to the entire place "your mother says it's too much money so you just get a color that's it" why would you humiliate a child that way when all I wanted was to understand what extras I could eliminate without losing the quality. My lashes also got stuck when being done, when I asked why my eyes wouldn't open they said "the glue was drying" but had no fan to dry them. This place has been around for many years and was never gorgeous, but WOW, it gone downhill to disgusting. It's hard to think of a surface that was not worn and/or dirty, from floor to walls to even ceilings. Many of the little plastic baskets holding tools were cracked and broken. There was duct tape on the nail dryers. This is a place that obviously does not care anymore. The worst had to be that the bottle of polish they were using on me was so old that the technician kept sneaking drops of acetone into it to thin it out. The pedicure itself was average at best; I was looking forward to having a callus remover gel for the dry skin on my heels, but they didn't use it at all. Just a quick soak and quick scrub. My feet pretty much looked the same when they were done, and my nails were not even cut straight. The icing on the cake? Unfriendly technicians who barely speak to their clients. I have been coming here even before it was Angel Tips and expanded. It has been years since I visited here as well. My mother gets her nails done here regularly since she resides down the block. Angel Tips has been pretty consistent for the last ten years, which is rare. I had planned to take my mother for a manicure for her birthday. My mother has not been doing her nails for a year due to their crazy puppy who has ruined a manicure here and there. We went on a Saturday evening and it was a packed house but we were taken care of right away. My mother does regular manicures and I get shellac/gel manicures. I chose black and my mom chose a weird purple color lol. What I miss about NY nail salons are the massages during your manicure. I was given a quickie and then asked if I would like 30 minutes extra, to which I said yes of course! He did an amazing job and my muscles felt so much less tense. It really saddens me to leave this review. I have been coming here for a few years on and off being that I lived around the neighborhood. I left the state, 2 hours away and still traveled to them every two weeks. I went this past Friday to get a gel pedicure and reg manicure. The lady started doing sns on me out of nowhere so I just let it be. $90 for both. Cool. Three days later all my nails cracked (picture attached) I reached out to them and the wife told me to come in today before 3pm for them to fix the job. After I went in and they redid my nails they were trying to charge me $45 again. I told the owner that was unacceptable being that all of my nails cracked within 3 days of me getting them done. He tried to tell me that I was the one who told his employee to make the sns thin lol. I just laughed and After telling him I had the text messages and receipt including pictures of my nails he told me to lower my voice but since I didn't let him take my money he told me to leave and not come back which I was not planning to do so anyways. He is very disrespectful and unprofessional. You're a business owner. You're not supposed to be arguing and disrespecting your customers. Just got the basic mani/pedi and it was good. They are super organized and I didn't have any wait time.

I've only ever gone there to get my pedicure done and I've always left happy. But today I got a gel pedi and acrylic tips...big mistake. The pedicure was only okay, not great. The acrylic tips were not what I wanted at all. The application was uneven, thick, and the nails came out rounded on the nail bed, not straight like I asked 10 times before. I had one of the massagers pounce on me and ask me only after a few minutes into the very aggressive massage if I actually wanted it. This happened twice. I always leave a good tip for my pedicure. I've left $15 just for the feet alone, but today I was not happy with the service and I left a tip according to what I received. Mind you I would have left a little more but they charged me $5 dollars to use my card. The owner accosted and embarrassed me on the amount of the tip and when I showed him why I was unhappy he insisted that the work was fine. I reminded him that I was the customer and this is not what I wanted and he told me that I did not have to return. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. I get my lashes done by Jenny all the time because she's the best in my book. However, she wasn't in this day so another person did my lashes. I told her to do double lashes, but didn't realize it was single until a few days later when I saw the actual lashes falling and how thin they were. I came back to kindly ask if I can redo my lashes since I paid for double or if I can get refunded the difference, which would only be $10. The owner Leo humiliated me in front of everyone. He tried gaslighting me into thinking the set I had on was double lashes. When I asked for the difference he raised his voice and said "No! you can call the police and sue me if you want". I've never been so disrespected in an establishment. It's clear why no one has anything positive to say about him. He's rude over the phone as well and will hang up on you mid conversation. It hurts me to write a bad review, but this salon was recommended to me and unfortunately i had a bad experience. I went to get lash extensions and the girl did not understand english, which had a toll on my experience. I asked her for 11 & 12 length mixed, natural and wispy style and she put on 13 & 14 doubles. I came out looking like a bratz doll from 2001. She kept poking my eyelids, i had to tell her to stop because it was getting painful, she stopped and asked me what do i mean. She didnt understand english and she wasnt even working with a light! Of course she was poking me when she couldnt see! They still charged me full price ($75) after i told them i dont like it and wanted it removed, i had it fully removed immediately afterwards. I basically sat there for 2 hours for nothing. They didn't offer a partial refund or anything at all, they told if i come back tomorrow they'll re-do it for $15. Horrendous service, they should have even charged me full price to begin with. Then I paid for the whole bill plus I tipped my usual 2 that do my nails and pedicure always good genourous tip because they do a good job.So then I walk out the door and I realize I forgot my water bottle, as I go back in and get my bottle and start to walk out the door, kim yells and says hey.You tip.. If I could rate this star 0 stars I would. My nail tech, JENNY, was rude and talked sh*t about me the entire time because she thought I couldn't speak Chinese. From the moment I sat down, she cursed about my natural nails, the almond shape I picked out, and insulted me calling me a "brat" and "crazy". She thought it was okay to say those things and give me attitude because she thought I couldn't understand her. Beyond the attitude and constant bad mouthing, she rushed my nails the entire time. She told me to pick my own nail colors out of the bin but needed both of my hands to be on the table, and was annoyed I couldn't do both?? She rushed and was so rough that she made my cuticles bleed. I was bleeding on her gloves and she didn't apologize or try to clean the wound. Then she messed up my color arrangement and only fixed it after my friend intervened, but not before cursing about my mom (in Chinese). Another nail tech in conversation with JENNY said to make sure I "had the money to pay" and said I might ditch without paying. The whole environment was so toxic. After I exposed that I understood what she was saying, she did a whole 180 and started faking nice to me (the entire salon, actually). My dip powder tips came out to be $49 and I tipped her $12 (I know). I definitely overpaid considering how chunky my nails came out and how badly I was treated. I wish I had walked out of there as soon as I saw how run down and packed the place was, or even after JENNY started opening her mouth. As a paying customer who was respectful til the end, even with the horrific treatment towards me, I don't understand how this business exists. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade now and it is truly disappointing I finally have to write this review. The workers are excellent and the quality is exceptional, however the owner Leo is truly the most disrespectful man and business owner I have ever met. I have seen him countless times raise his voice and take his anger out on many loyal customers over the years including myself and some of my family members. I normally would not go back to a place where I was meant to feel so mistreated but the people who do my nails and feet are truly exceptional at their craft and so I tolerated Leo for the two of the them. However, Leo has truly crossed the line with his actions this past time I was there as he yelled and berated me in front of everyone. I told him to walk away calmly, but he continued on with his actions. I do not need this kind of stress while getting my nails done as it is supposed to a stress reliever. I have tipped very well and am always polite to Leo and his workers despite his actions over the years. For the sake of keeping myself anonymous to him I will not be providing the details of this instance or any others. I've been coming here for almost 10 years.. I've gotten gel manicures, eyelash extensions and pedicures. The service is quick, cheap, and mediocre. The employees are always seeking tips and will ask for tips if you don't give them more. It was convenient for me because there is a parking lot and multiple employees so wait time isn't terrible. I went in today for a refill and of course my nail tech wasn't ready at my appointment time. The owner, Leo decided to fill off my nail polish with a drill to save time. He kept getting up to answer the phone and do other things while holding a drill to my nails. He ended up cutting my index finger deep with the drill and I started bleeding profusely. All he said was "sorry". I continued to bleed and he still kept attending to customers - a little sympathy and attentive care would have been nice. I love this place but sometimes I just feel a bit off. Some of the nail techs do a great job, Sherley and Lina always make my nails look the best. Other times I've had to ask nail techs if they were gonna do a basic step that others usually do (i.e filing down the powder gel before they top it off and finish it which one guy just didn't do). The last time I came I saw a woman and her daughter and the daughter complained about the fact that she saw the pedicurist take a pair of flip flops that a customer had been wearing and just give them to her without cleaning them. The mother was very upset and the pedicurist just took some grapeseed oil spray (what they use on your nails once they're done) and just wipe it with a paper towel. I'm also concerned I'm getting nail fungus from the powder gel I've been getting. Don't get me wrong they do a great job with manicures and pedicures (although it's their job as sales people to try and sell you more like spa pedicures, massages etc.) but they're probably not the most sanitary. I've seen other places pull out fresh tools each time and I haven't seen that here. I come here because I know they'll do a good job and my nails are great and last super long, I've had powder gel for 3 weeks that didn't crack and just started lifting at the bottom. I have been coming here since the summer and I love the work they do. Mike does a fantastic job on my nails every time and he's a nice person to converse with. I would go back just for him! It's a big salon so not much wait time and they have a parking lot as well as chase bank in the shopping center. I believe they charge tax if you put it on a card. Powder gel is $30 and does not come off or become damaged. Ombré was additional $10. Only reason i do my nails each time I go is because they have grown out but no problem with the powder gel itself. Pedicures are $15 but they have more expensive pedicure packages to choose from. I usually go to bing and he does a great job. They will accommodate you when scheduling appointments or if you run late for your appointment. I don't know why they have such low ratings. I never have a problem with them! Given that this place has reviews that are less than 3 stars why is it sooooo packed? I think the loyal customers can't get enough of this place. The staff gets the job done. Maybe it isn't the spa that has the people around talk about their days and family/friend events and happenings, but it looks like the salon does make an effort to make it clean disposable file and buffer, disposable pedicure tub liners) and functional (tables with fans embedded on the side and in the table). I come here often to get my nails done and tried to give there lashes a try. originally I wanted to work with jessica because I had seen a review of her work & really liked it; she no longer works there & was directed to sophie. I got double, I wanted cat eye & got 11-13; and it took approximately about and hour and a half. The lashes looked great the first day... about 3 days later my lashes began to hurt and it felt like a heavy weight on my eyes. After 10 days I couldn't take it anymore, I was able to take off almost every eyelash because they were not glued on to my lashes, but to my waterline under my lashes. I paid $90 for the lashes, and it was a rip off, the lashes lasted 10 days. I usually go to YUMI lashes in flushing, I literally get the same thing & my lashes last up to 3 months; with proper care. personally I had a terrible experience with my lashes and will stick to just doing my nails. read more
