I have needed them twice and they have been efficient and helpful. The appointments seem to be more or less on time. I rarely waited more than 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment. You have to book in advance but they do give you an option to be seen on the day if urgent. I actually find the level of service at this surgery to be quite good.

Covid has exacerbated the downfall…read moreand over capacity of residents in new build in area..really disappointed with response times and no face to face appts anymore..months to get blood tests..constant prompting to receive email response..can't get through on phone..surgery changed hands and management and since then not good..not staff fault..needs more funding..more staff..larger capacity of staff and rooms to cope with huge influx of new residents. A new surgery needs to be provided on peninsula and surgery should advise patients what local peninsula pharmacies can offer under nhs..blood tests??

I have had to resort to going to the A&E for trivial matter because of over a week's waiting period to see a doctor. Getting access to see the doctor is becoming an issue! And I get a different gp with every appointment I go to. Now I hear that this is fairly standard and I normally wouldn't be bothered by this cause Im not normally sick. But with my Crohn's I need to do follow up appointments with them instead of going to my specialist in Harrow. And so they make life difficult and frustrating. And some of the doctors are smart asses who know nothing of IBD's. Grrrr.

For one thing, it's open 'til 8 pm on weeknights and it opens on saturday mornings, meaning you don't have to take time off work to consult a doctor. They also have a service which allows you to book your appointment online, which is handy as the phone is often engaged. Since moving into the area in June, I've always found it easy to get an appointment within a couple of days. The first time, I wanted advice on vaccinations I would need to travel to China and got an appointment that afternoon. I was seen by a lovely nurse who advised me on the vaccines I'd need, worked out the cheapest way for me to get them, and administered them there and then! When I went to consult a doctor, I found him attentive and friendly, which put me at my ease immediately. There's a chemist right next door too, making it easy to get your prescriptions. If you need a doctor in Wandsworth, this is the place to go!

But if you still want to, by all means read on. The physicians are concerned for you yet hurried and therefore get you in and out of the office in ten minutes. They strike an unusual and slightly unnerving balance between making you feel as if you're just another blip on the radar of the appointment day and as if you're a real person with potentially real medical problems. The front-office staff work efficiently. Since the office is in a primarily student-populated area, the waiting room is full of pamphlets that run the gamut from warnings against chlamydia (you whore) to instructions on how to cook healthily for yourself to stave off the obesity epidemic (booga booga). It's also full of students and the odd pensioner. Conveniently, the office runs walk-in clinics every day for those people who seem to be personally opposed to setting doctor's appointments. Although, if this applies to you, be prepared to wait for a long time. And then to use the toilet during your wait because of the four cups of coffee you had before arriving. And then promptly cut the flesh of your hand open and rip your fingernail off on the toilet lock because it's fidgety and gets stuck while you're trying to lock it whilst fidgeting yourself. And then need to book yourself in to go see the nurse on top of seeing the doctor to get your wound cleaned and bandaged. This is all hypothetical, of course. I can't say I've ever got a same-day appointment like another reviewer, but the option of going to the walk-in clinic is always there. The nurse also conducts walk-in clinic hours for the prescription of contraceptives and the performance of smear tests. But of course the one time I went specifically to get my cervix swabbed she was too busy and made me set an appointment for the following week. I'm not gonna lie; I was pretty pissed about that. Not only did I reserve time in my day to make a special trip to get my vagina probed, but I was turned away-- My vagina, rebuffed; its pride, wounded.

Just been again to DocTap this time for a problem with my throat…read more I was prescribed antibiotics for what the doc thinks is throwt infection. I'm going to hold off taking them for a couple of days to see if I really need them but nice to have I guess. My dr this time was Mike. Friendly and chatty like my last one. I think he had quite a tricky patient before me so he was a few minutes (like 5) late for my appointment but I guess that's fine. I'm still a fan of doctap - does anyone out there know of there's anything similar in London?
