The southern cannoli had good quality chocolate chips, smooth paste, and crunchy shell but was lacking an extra oomph that could have been provided with some citron in the recipe. The Boston cream bombolini was good. It was fresh tasting, filled amply with good quality chantilly cream. The pistachio croissant was freshly baked, light, delicately buttery and crispy infused with lots of decadent pistachio nut cream. There was no line on a Thursday after 5pm. Saul helped us pick out pastries. He was great to talk to. We had a few pastries there and a bunch of various flavored mini croissants to bring back to the Big Island. The best drink has to be the nutella latte. I was expecting it to be too sweet, but it wasn't. We stopped by here multiple times and it can get very busy. The seating downstairs is tight, but there is more upstairs. They also serve gelato, pizza, and savory pastries. I wouldn't recommend the chocolate croissant because there was hardly any chocolate in it. read more

The food at Angelina's bakeries are absolutely incredible and so delicious! The service and employees at Angelina's bakeries or at least this location are despicable! I came in. I asked for an apricot croissant, and a chocolate croissant. The guy looks at me and looks at all the croissants in front of him and then says we don't have any apricot. Mind you there is a full tray of apricot croissants, staring at him in the face.! He then walks away and he's looking in the back for apricot croissants comes back Wi-up to me and says we don't have any. I said turn around and look right there and he goes oh and starts laughing. I take my 2 croissants. I go to the register. I'm waiting a minimal 3 minutes by myself as I'm being ignored. then a guy comes up rings my order and on the pad it said do you want to leave a tip? I said no thanks. he walks away. I get my receipt. 2 croissants were $16. He rang up 1 croissant correct and the other one was not a croissant I ordered and a tip of $2.70 was added. So then a guy named Jackson comes up, a little on the defense stating that they could not have added the tip that I did it. Ummm OK no I didn't and he said well. The croissant that's added is the same price I said well that's not the point. That's not the croissant I ordered ! And it's not about a $2.70 tip it's the Principal I want the correct item I paid for and a correct receipt. he said my refund which he said will take 2 to 5 days to receive which I've never really heard of on something like this it usually nowadays goes through right away. I was charged a new price and for some odd reason it's not on my bill of my credit card. And it's half the price. I'm extremely disappointed! To say the least. Everyone needs to look at their receipts when they shop at this location because these people ringing up items are not ringing them up correctly and it's all in their favor. I'm giving three stars because the food is so good. And taking off only two stars for this ridiculous situation that could've been avoided with better customer service all around.. We popped into Angelina Bakery while walking through the city. We paused here to enjoy some pastries and a cappuccino. I ordered an almond croissant and it was the best one I had on the trip. The cafe is lovely and extremely clean. They had a beautiful patio but it was unfortunately locked. The restroom was also clean and the dining area was spacious. My friends from out of town had been to Angelina's but I was not aware of it's existence until I ran across it on 8th Avenue. However, I ran into a friend and she told me of a newer Angelina's on Btoadway in the theater district. I went in and I believe it is on two levels. I sat downstairs and since I had already had lunch, I stopped in with a friend for a quick espresso. They had run out of paper cups for the espresso and I got it in a real cup, which was a treat. They have all sorts of baked goods which I will try the next time I stop in there. There is also a gelato counter and an area selling Italian donuts [bombolini] with fillings such as jelly or Nutella. It is a long thin space with a counter on one side and seating opposite this. A family of four were next to me and we're enjoying their pizzas. It has a nice vibe and you order at the counter and then get yourself a table. I would recommend and return. read more

So happy we finally got to try this adorable place! I've seen it on past trips but we were always in a hurry. Such a vast array of pastries, sweet and treats it's hard to choose! We went with a sweet pistachio filled croissant and a savory breakfast pastry. Both were so good but the breakfast pastry with egg and spinach was so flakey and buttery it was definitely our winner! The food was amazing. So much so that we went back in to get a chanlilly croissant for in the morning. Hands down the best bakery we experienced in the city during our visit. The pastry mostly is like a bready filled doughnut. Every single one was great and they had mini sizes too. My husband and I tried every variety. The chanlilly was the favorite. OMG! Had I found this incredible Italian pastry shop on day one of our 5-day NYC trip, I would have eaten breakfast here every single day. They have serious goodies! Unfortunately, we didn't make it there until day 3. I was obsessed with the Egg and Spinach Focaccia, ordering it two days straight. It's a game-changer: a fluffy, savory pastry that incorporates cheese, spinach, and whole baked eggs--a complete, flavor-packed breakfast. On another day, I grabbed a Too Good To Go bag and scored a chocolate donut, pistachio croissant, and Nutella croissant. The croissants were super flaky, and the pistachio cream was amazing. My friends and I were looking for a place to grab and snack and catch up so we decided to check out Angelina's Bakery. There are multiple bakery locations in NYC and we ended up at the location closest to Times Square. When I initially walked in the bakery felt super cramped because of how busy it was, however, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was a second floor of just seating! Overall, it's a great place to catch up with friends, get work done, or grab a quick bite. They have an assortment of pastries, pizza and sandwiches. I tried the standard cheese pizza and the pistachio bombolone and my other friends got the cheese danishes and got beverages. The pistachio bombolone was definitely my favorite of all the things we tried. It tasting basically like a filled donut except more dense and the filling was so yummy!! What is seemingly becoming more of a sweet treat institution by the day, Angelina's is serving (or baking) some very high quality desserts in the Midtown area. We stopped by their Times Square location and here's what we experienced: the store is clean and there are a lot of options there, a lot of seating indoor and outdoor as well. Staff seems a bit out of it, not as attentive as you'd hope but they deal with tourists for a living so fair enough. Here they do a bit of everything from gelato to coffee to baked goods so you can truly pick your poison there. We opted to go all in on their pastries and ordered about half a dozen of them including their Nutella, pistachio, chantilly cream, and strawberry bombolones plus a cannoli for good measure. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for our bathroom scales, we only had the Nutella and pistachio bombolones and the cannoli as the others were for family. Good thing we can still rate those though so here was what we got out of it: The bombolones are great; fluffy, sweet, and packed with filling. Be careful how aggressively you bite into it because the filling almost explodes, that's how packed they are. They are also a decent size, definitely not a skimpy bakery by any means. The Nutella and pistachio fillings were sweet and thick, a great contrast to how light and airy the pastry itself was. We were very pleased with those two, unfortunately less so with the cannoli. The shell was a bit soft and the cream, while sweet, just isn't as good as other cannoli you can get in the city, plus the chocolate chips on it tasted a bit stale. Could've been a bad batch of them but that's what we got unfortunately. By the end of our gluttony we felt bad, not bad enough though cause we'd go again and that should make you want to go too. read more

I wandered by Angelina after seeing a show, and noted how cute the place would and how popular it was. There was a huge line, and the treats looked good so I decided to check it out. Despite the long line, things moved quickly and I was ordering before I knew it. I ordered a fruit tart as the berries looked fresh and delicious and a cannoli as I believe it's illegal to not order one at an Italian bakery. Because I just ordered pastries, I was checking out before I knew it and able to avoid the mass of people waiting for their food to be prepared. It was gorgeous out and I opted to sit at one of the many tables outside. Luckily, Angelina is large enough to offer a lot of seating, which is helpful given the long line of customers! I dug into the tart and while it was good it wasn't incredible. The crust was perhaps a touch too baked and was difficult to eat with the to go plastic cutlery provided. There was also a stem on a couple of my blueberries. I wish there had been more raspberries, but that's just a personal preference. Similarly, the cannoli was lovely but nothing extraordinary. I'm giving Angelina three stars because it wasn't super special; at least what I expected given the long line. read more

Clean and cute interior with helpful staff. I ordered a coffee, hot chocolate and an Angelina crossiant with scrambled eggs, cream and crispy bacon. The hot chocolate was too rich and chocolatey for my liking. I liked it better when I added milk to it and added it to my drip coffee. 6/10 The Angelina crossiant with scrambled eggs, cream and crispy bacon was to die for! I saw Angelina across the street from my hotel and got excited. Unfortunately nothing to do with Angelina Paris and far from it . Lol While Angelina Paris has 2 boutiques in NYC this is not one of them You wont find their famous Mont blanc here but they do have a Mont Blanc donut ! This Angelina calls itself an Italian bakery . The regular breakfast croissants are not good ( they look the part but don't taste great ).However their ham & cheese croissant sandwich was good.. The pastries are expensive but do look good also. If you want great coffee, this is not the place. Obviously they don't train their baristas and don't know how to make a cappuccino. There are not many real coffee shops nearby unfortunately .This is a tourist area and chains prevail . Coffee lovers may have to walk a few blocks into Hell's kitchen. Angelina provides outdoor seating , unnecessarily tight indoor seating with some additional seats upstairs . Convenient to various tourist hotels. read more

It's a really nicely done store inside, bright and airy. They have a lot of different kinds of baked goods along with a limited selection of sandwiches, then gelatos and of course, coffee. The food we tried here was always good. The pistachio croissant was awesome. I kinda regret not trying the nutella version as it too looked divine. The coffee was solid.
