My first four star review... the server attending me was great, helpful and attentive. This is a new pizza place that opened near my home and decided to give it a shot. I ordered a chicken sandwich, nothing too special, seemed like something you'd expect to receive at a baseball game. The owners were sitting at a table behind me and weren't exactly having an appropriate conversation while customers were still in the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and well kept. In order to have a stuffed-pizza feast, I would have to fast the entire day. Well, options at my mall food court are very limited. However, the beauty of living in Chicago is that food is abundant, both north and south sides. After work, I made a phone call to Angelo's, on S. Pulaski in the Archer Heights neighborhood, reserving our spinach & mushroom stuffed pizza. Luckily, Groupon saved us a few bucks. Almost one (1) hour after the courtesy call, we have arrived at the destination with no difficulty with street parking near S. Pulaski and 49th. Oh by the way, friends. Don't expect Angelo's to be a luxurious, commercial place like Lo* Mal*ati's. There's no high-end leather seats, high thread-counts tablecloths, and extensive wine-lists. If you're a street-tough Chicagoan like myself, you won't mind seeing some Chicago city flags, Chicago Bulls autograph featuring the famous #23, and Chicago Bears memorabilia. On a side note, would you mind keeping a secret that I'm actually a Green Bay's fan? Please don't "stone" me with my stuffed pizza if some kind of animosity is present. The Groupon deal called for an appetizer and one (1) large two (2)-topping stuffed pizza. Our appetizer, jalapeño poppers, were decent. As we were munching these bad boys, the young man informed us that our pizza was ready. Ok, please bring it on! The funny thing was their stuffed pizza wasn't that delicious after the first bite. There was a "baker's yeast" after-taste. For some reason, I was used to it and finished two (2) pieces in the end. Hubby and I prefer our usual place (The Art of Pizza) on the north side, but we both agree that Angelo's stuffed pizza is affordable and portioned generously! Post-Groupon cost turned out to be $7 and some change, with a appetizer, a large two (2) toppings stuffed pizza, and one (1) bottle of pineapple Jarritos. I believe the presence of Angelo's serves the neighborhood well. Hubby and I had a pleasant experience dining in here, and Angelo will give me a morning call with their pizza tomorrow morning as well (the power of leftovers)! read more

My friend told me about this place, so I decided to check it out. I got 2 cheeseburgers with 2 cups of cheese. Came out to $35. The only flavor I got from the burger was ketchup and mustard. Beside that, it was bland. The cheese we got was spicy, which I'm not a big fan of, it would of been nice if they would of told me. Doubt I'll ever go back. read more

As a loyal customer of Angelos Pizza I was very disappointed at the service, food, and over all lack of customer service. My wife and I ordered pizza on Sunday evening and we both got extremely sick, vomiting, headache, and body chills and aches. We both had not eaten anything out of the ordinary and were not sick after any of our regular meals. after we ate the pizza about 2 hours later we got to sick to where we both called off of work and were suffering through the whole night. I called the next day hoping to get an answer as to why, but instead was greeted with no accountability, lack of explanation, no reimbursement, but a 50% discount on my next purchase. why a coupon was given to me after we fell ill is beyond me as it should imply I would no longer be ordering from there. As I proceeded to ask to speak to the owner I was told by the manager "Joe Jones" that there was no owner and they were a corporation(not sure if this true) and said there was no one else I could speak to. I was so disappointed as my family and I have always supported there business and all this situation has shown is their lack of respect and well being of their customers. I am all about supporting local business hence why I chose to order from them. I would advise not to order from this restaurant. Pizza was undercooked, stale, or flat out old and reheated with dry grease. if you look at the most recent reviews this a reoccurring issue and the quality of the food has gone down. Purchased a cesar salad, veggie and a cheese pizza, both pizzas lacked flavor. I mean BLAND central. Have you ever heard of seasoning before? My Cesar salad was drenched in dressing that was suppose to come on the side, and the chicken was hot making it all very soggy (not a crunch to be found). When I called about the salad (because I was gonna just chalk up the pizza as a loss) I was met with very rude and unprofessional customer service! While they did write my name down to receive a credit, I will not be going back, because I don't trust the service or the food. They can keep the credit, it's not even worth my time. Taylor Made pizza was apparently featured on "Chicago's Best". Had I known that before going to Angelo's, I wouldn't have been in any hurry to come here, because Taylor Made was awful and "Chicago's Best" cannot be trusted. Angelo's showed up on Groupon shortly after we heard of them, so we bought one because it was a really great deal and we knew we'd come back if we liked it. They were really nice when we called to place the order, but after using ours and my mom giving us half of their pizza, I'm in no rush to go back. Their stuffed pizza is bready. I don't mind this, because I actually like it, but there is no flavor. I can see why I was the only one who didn't mind it and subsequently was given leftover crust, as I'll eat any crust that isn't burnt. Their sauce was plain. I'm usually left with pizza regret because the sauce upsets me and theirs didn't. I'd much rather have the regret with a side of Tums than bland sauce though. My mom and step-dad had a thin crust pizza, which I didn't find any better, though I suppose I'd prefer it over their stuffed. If someone ordered this, I'd eat it, but having had it 3x, it's safe to say we're not coming out of our way again. read more

I knew it was great the moment I walked in. The design of the inside is incredible, it gives off a positive and warming feeling. The server was incredibly kind and when things weren't busy for him he would chat with the customers and be extremely friendly. And they knocked the food out of the ballpark. Worst experience possible. I was denied entry because my nephew didn't have an ID. We provided the vaccination card and they insisted he needed a school ID at least when my nephews school doesn't provide picture on the ID so it would defeat the purpose. Drove all the way from the northwest side of Chicago for this. Chicago website states only 16 and older need ID so not sure what policy they where enforcing. read more

When we got there we saw a coupon for dine in or carry out which was for a 16in. XL stuffed pizza w/ one topping and a 2 Lt. pop bottle for $19.99. That deal was a no-brainer for us. The pizza was delicious. Their was plenty of sauce and cheese on it. We had it w/ garlic and they were big pieces of it in the pizza. I did dine here and I'm glad I didn't. Instead, I ordered through UberEats and I was looking forward to trying it, but once I started eating I was completely turned off by the taste. I ordered an XL stuffed pizza, onion rings, and the breaded mushrooms and all three items were so bland that I couldn't even continue eating. At first glance the pizza looks amazing but has no flavor to it. I Always order or cater from Angelos, I love their party/catering menu. The food is always hot and good. My guests always ask me where I got my food from. Their baked mostaccioli is yummy. I've yet to try everything on the menu, but their pasta is yummy. read more
