Today, all three of our children (ages 4.5, 2.5, and 1.5) attend Goddard, and we've experienced every classroom from Infant through PS2. We initially chose Goddard because of its outstanding reputation in the community. Families consistently described it as clean, safe, educational, fun, and trustworthy, and our experience has absolutely lived up to those expectations. What stands out most is the genuine care the teachers have for the children. My kids are excited to go to school every day, which speaks volumes. The school is constantly creating fun and engaging experiences, from Kona Ice visits and special guests to themed weeks, festivals, scooter races, and enrichment opportunities like dance and soccer during the school day. While we've had countless positive experiences, Ms. Amy deserves special recognition. She has built incredible relationships with our children and has become such an important part of their lives. She lovingly created nicknames that are still used years later, helped fully potty train our oldest and is now helping our second child, and even asked to FaceTime when he celebrated his first success on the potty. She has cared for our children when they were sick, kept us informed about important deadlines and events, and always takes time to share the little stories that make our days brighter. Goddard should do everything they can to keep her. The teaching staff as a whole is exceptional. There is a wonderful mix of long-tenured teachers who mentor those newer to the profession. Every teacher brings a different style--warm, structured, silly, nurturing, or traditional--but all have earned our trust. Communication is also strong. We receive regular updates regarding supplies, incidents, and classroom activities. While there have been a few opportunities for more proactive communication, such as when a classroom staffing change occurred unexpectedly, those instances have been the exception rather than the rule. Academically, we've been incredibly impressed. Beyond reading at home, we rarely feel the need to supplement their learning. Our children frequently come home talking about topics that surprise us with their depth and detail. Most recently, we had a lively family discussion about nocturnal animals inspired by what they learned at school. The school is exceptionally clean, organized, and well-managed. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on life skills and personal responsibility. My children routinely clear their dishes, clean up after themselves, and take pride in helping at home--habits that were reinforced at Goddard. Finally, we have tremendous appreciation for Ms. Emily and Ms. Didi. Together they provide the perfect balance of hands-on leadership and strong administrative organization, helping create the positive culture and consistency that make the school so successful. As parents, there is nothing more valuable than knowing your children are safe, loved, learning, and excited to be where they are each day. Goddard has given our family that peace of mind, and for that we are incredibly grateful.

I knew we chose the right daycare facility when my son had his first febrile seizure on a Sunday. I…read morenotified the school after my son missed several days of school of his diagnosis. Juliana called me the first day he was back. She implemented a protocol that if he ever had a fever, they would give him Tylenol (with a doctor's note) and that a parent would have to pick him up right away. This past Friday, my son's teacher Ms. Didi noticed his fever right away (even though it was only 99.5) and the school notified me. I arrived to pick him up within about 20 minutes. As I was putting him in his car seat he had another febrile seizure and started to turn blue. I ran him back inside and Gabbi very calmly called 911. The paramedics arrived within minutes. Meanwhile several teachers came to help apply ice and comfort the both of us. Gabbi offered to come with us to the hospital and without my insisting we were fine, would have. Gabbi even texted us to check in with our family later that night. I cannot thank the staff at Goddard Ft. Mitchell enough for their compassion and help in such a difficult moment.

When we toured the…read morebuilding, we could tell it was a little run down, but the staff seemed positive and they told us she would be in a classroom environment and that the children were separated by age groups. On her first day, when my girlfriend went to pick her up, no one knew where she was. My girlfriend asked to speak to her teacher, and was informed that the teachers leave at 3pm and that from then on, the children are left with school-age teen girls, one of which in another classroom (5 year olds) yelling at a child to "put that down NOW". My girlfriend finally had to go out to the playground to locate our daughter, and found her in the play-structure, with kids that were older than her, not separated by age as we were told, not able to get down, scared and asking for help down. No one on staff knew where her change of clothes or back-pack were. When I left work to go and speak to the owner, he had conveniently just left, even though my girlfriend had spoken with him 20 minutes before then and told him I was on my way down. When I spoke with the director, she told me that "There were a few different stories about what happened." That's not something you want to hear as a parent who just put their child into daycare for the first time and has a first day like that. She tried telling me the "girls" had said that my daughter was on the playground and having a good time. I later learned that the other kids were hitting and kicking her trying to get her to get off the play structure. When we got her home, she started eating all the food in the house that she could find and eating like she hadn't been fed. Later that night, she was so upset and crying that she almost threw up. I know my daughter, and I know when something really bothers her. We were worried about the quality of care she received from this place IN JUST ONE DAY! Parent to parent, I would not waist the time it takes to pick up the phone and call these people. I even came in the day after to speak with the owner and get our money back, and again the owner wasn't there, or at least wouldn't talk to me. After asking some people at work, I found out that the owner has a reputation for ripping people off and not being on the level. Just wanted to share my experience.

When we showed up for this appointment, it had not been communicated that we were coming and would be touring. But- the manager, Kim, happily showed us around, despite being a bit surprised we were there. As we walked through, she spoke to the children by name, in a loving way, all the way explaining to us their Christian ethics and how they teach through play. Sign language is used in the baby room & a Spanish teacher comes in twice a week to work with the toddlers and young children. Since we were bringing in a small baby, she explained baby room rules and how the staff operates. After the tour, we were taken into the office and she went over the handbook with us, to make sure we understood the operation's management. We were given a packet specifically about the baby room. Both my husband and I left with a really good feeling that they had been upfront with us and explained many things that other daycares had glossed over. When enrolling, we brought our daughter into meet the staff. As a tiny girl, she garnered lots of attention, as all the employees love babies. They all stopped and cooed at her, making promises they were going to hold her and love her as much as they could. Every morning, when I take her to daycare- the employees greet her by name. Often times, they stop me and tell me how they held her during their lunch break and gave her a bottle. They tell me what a sweet girl she is. I receive pictures from the lead teacher in the infant room with text updates. I can call anytime I want during the day to check on her & find out what she's up to. I find the staff extremely personable and helpful. One day they contacted me about "an incident". Another child had scratched her & I was informed of the situation it had happened under and how they had remedied it. Upon picking her up, we had to sign the incident report, acknowledging that we know/understand. The funniest part: we never did see the scratch on her! I never would have known- if they hadn't gone through all the steps. I feel so much affection and appreciation of this daycare. They try to give as much love and attention to all the children, no matter what room they are in or who the teacher is. I'm glad they're helping to raise my girl!!! Even though I felt like I had to scramble to find daycare at the last minute- I think we ended up exactly where we need to be!

My oldest attended full time for pre-school and entered kindergarten fully prepared. My baby started full time there when he was 2 months and will be there through pre-school. As for the 'anonymous' review below, I witnessed the so called 'argument' between mom and the staff person. The mom was totally out of line and the staff handled it well. Clearly a first time mom that has unrealistic expectations.

They really care about the students! I also love that each year they have a Dad's Night and a Mom's Night. These nights are so special. I get to visit her school and she gets to show me everything and introduce me to everyone. They have a lot of games that center around the two of us working together. A really great bonding time for parent and child. I also appreciate that they will play outside as long as there isn't inclement weather. This means that they still get some playground time in the winter. And, as all parents know, you need to get outdoors as much as possible in the winter time to blow off some of that excess energy. The pickup and drop-off traffic can be pretty crazy, so I usually just park across the street in the overflow lot and walk over. Much easier than waiting in line. This preschool has a lottery to enroll. I have no idea if that is really common these days, but I was surprised. Luckily we made it in. As long as one sibling is enrolled then other siblings can enroll too and bypass the lottery. They offer 2-day and 3-day with morning or afternoon start times. The 2-day is Monday and Friday. The 3-day is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Class is in session from September to May. Trust me, you and your child will love this preschool.
