I had to get my I9 verification for work. I signed up via a website that my employer provided and didn't have any issues. When I went in the day of my appointment, something happened to their computer so the lady had to start over and I had to provide my information twice. Overall, I think I spent less than 10 mins there. It was simple and easy. It would have probably taken only 5 mins if there were technical issues. They also wore gloves while handling my passport and ID. I was actually surprised when she asked for my ID. I thought my passport was sufficient for I9. read more

I made an appointment to have my fingerprinting done since they're associated with Fieldprint. When I showed up to the appointment, their office was closed. There was also another gentlemen there with me who also had an appointment after me and we had to end up rescheduling our services to another Fieldprint location. I left Angels Tax Services a voicemail about their office being closed and still no call or follow up from them a day later. Fortunately Fieldprint was able to reschedule me to another location, but this wasted my time. It is unprofessional for a service to have their offices closed when they have customers making appointments with them. There's also no notification or sign in front of their office explaining why they're closed when their office hours online say they're open from 9 am - 3 pm. Will be avoiding this place in the future. read more

There was also plenty of hand sanitizer available which I appreciated. I also appreciated the woman's discretion considering she was copying my passport. When I called to make an appointment, I explained that the only reason I was using a tax 'professional' this year was because I had purchased an investment property in 2021. For this reason, I was scheduled to meet with Mr. Angel. When I arrived, I waited 30 minutes before a young lady took me into her office to enter my information in the computer. This took not more than 5 minutes. I actually had my 3:00 appointment with Mr. Angel at approximately 3:45. At that point, I spent more time waiting than they spent completing my tax return in its entirety. I was handed a bill of $250. before I realized the job was done and Mr. Angel had not addressed my purchase of an income property. I told Mr. Angel that I could have and would have done the job he just did by myself had I known that there was nothing my property purchase documents would be used for. He apologized and said he wasn't aware that that is what I was there for - even though it had been mentioned when the appointment was made, when I was meeting with the data entry woman, and again when I was talking to Mr. Angel. He basically did a 1040EZ for $250.00. Then, I guess he figured he should give me something for my money since I complained a bit and he proceeded to tell me how that property and its expenses would be handled with a future return. Being that I have never hired a tax professional - this is my 'first impression' with the process and I have to say, first impressions do make a difference. Maybe this is normal, par for the course but I feel that they took advantage of my inexperience and, quite frankly came away feeling fleeced. The documents I was given have a disclaimer which basically removes all culpability from the tax preparer and a few other disclaimers. I didn't even know this was something I was supposed to acknowledge and sign until after I was home and looking over the documents. I will most likely not be back next year, and will probably be looking for other opinions on how this should have been handled. Like Comment read more

I needed to get fingerprinted as part of the background check for a new job. Angels was the location closest to my home so I made an appointment for the next day (they're open on Saturdays!) Once I got to the building there were several signs directing me to the office suite. I was running a little late but Angel welcomed me in and we got started. I am a bit late and feeing guilty in writing this review, but finally coming up for some air. Duuring the 3rd week of the Covid shutdown, I was in dire need of a notary public in Chicago. I called the usual big box places and they either could not do it because they were all closed, or they gave me some ignorant remarks on why they could not notarize something that involved powers of attorney. One genius said that the elderly relative I have POA needs to come with me to a UPS center and I was like...well.."Mr. PHD, if I have official documents, why would that person need to be in your presence?". Anyway, I was googling left and right for "best chicago notary public" and was lucky enough to find Angel and that her business was open. I arrived at her office and was greeted by the coolest of the cool. She sat me down and I was expecting some 3 minute currency exchange-esque drive through like service. Instead, Angel went above and beyond in notarizing the document I needed and took her time in explaining a few things. Also, I forgot to bring a copy of another document and she was nice enough to print them for me. There was never a rush and I felt a true caring and diligent human being level of service. She then also shared with me all her tax preparer services she does which I would highly recommend. She is conveniently located right off the Peterson Ave exit and its super easy parking. read more
