The best goddamn soulfood I have had in my life. Open most days during the week at 1:30. Best to arrive EARLY even when making pickup orders expect to wait. Out of the few soulful spots I've tried in Suffolk County , this one is hands down my favorite. The food is consistently flavorful, and there are several dishes that really hit the spot. My absolute favorite is the seafood shrimp and lobster linguine always satisfying. I do recommend calling your order in ahead of time, as preparation can take a little while, but it's definitely worth the wait. I've had no complaints so far. I hate telling you about this place because I want to keep it all to myself. Food is excellent, staff is friendly and helpful. Portion sizes are large. It's nice to get good value for your money. You can call ahead, order via 3rd party or go in person and wait for your order to get cooked if it's not in the steam table. Cake prices are high but one slice here is actually 2 slices elsewhere. I waited 15 mins just to place an order and waited close to 2 hours to get my food which is ridiculous. I understand it's made to order but I think 2 hours is unreasonable. The service was pretty good considering how busy the place was. You need to get there early before opening to wait online or else you're gonna be stuck waiting for food for a while, it's super busy. Ox tail stew was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and balanced with a hint of spice. Juicy, fall off the bone. Generous portions. The sides were subpar. Mac n cheese tasted like noodles with cheap pre-shredded cheese, no sauce to it. Very stringy and was a really hard, big glob that was difficult to eat. Soul food here is hearty, flavorful dishes such as fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread, and candied yams. It's as traditional as tradition gets. For respect of the customers I refrained from taking pics inside. There were at least 10 people waiting online to enter before I got there and by the time the doors opened they had easily 30 people waiting inside alone and that doesn't include the line out the door. It's alright because the music playing gets you vibing. From tik-tok to Ig people came from near and as far as Brooklyn to try their eats. I've almost tried everything on this menu. My favorite's are the Jerk chicken, jerk salmon and the ribs(not ribettes). The greens and the yams are a hit or miss. Honestly, everything is a hit or miss. I most recently tried their stew chicken and the entire dish was very salty. I couldn't taste anything but salt. I was so disappointed because when I first tried this place I was blown away at the flavor of the food. You get a lot of food for what you pay for but as I said it's a hit or a miss. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes the food is not so good. The wait time is extremely long. I usually order food through Uber eats and just have it delivered but even then it takes over an hour for the food to even get to me. I live 5 minutes away from the restaurant for reference. This would all be fine if the food was hot when it reached me (which would tell me it's made to order) but it's often cold when it reaches me. The deserts are all very tasty so far. The food looked out of this world, so I came here to try it myself, and I was far from disappointed.
