We came here based on a recommendation from our hotel manager, it's a casual rustic type place with lots of great menu options and fresh house made desserts. We don't eat fried food very often, but this was definitely a great time to make an exception. My wife and I each chose different options on the Half & Half Seafood Dinner and shared our meals so we could enjoy a wider variety of seafood. We started with a fresh salad and homemade dinner rolls, and our entrées arrived shortly after we finished. The fried scallops were outstanding--probably the best I've ever had. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the clams were incredibly fresh and tender, and the calamari was also very tender, although I personally would have preferred the breading to be a little crispier. The portions were generous. There was so much seafood that we barely touched our fries and still couldn't finish everything on our plates. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. Many thanks to Margaret!! Two of us got the fried half and half with different selections. The third got the garlic shrimp Alfredo bake, which we all tried!! The garlic Alfredo sauce on the bake was yummy. I really enjoyed my calamari and fantail shrimp. The dinner rolls were on the sweet side - which made them extra delicious in my opinion! The Ceasar salad and coleslaw were pretty typical as far as diner sides are concerned. My son was visiting from Utah. Angler's was highly recommended to us: why, I haven't any idea. We each had broiled sea scallops and haddock fillet. The haddock was a pancake shaped, came pre-frozen wrapped in plastic and tasteless. If it was truly haddock, I feel sorry for the fish giving up his life to be unidentifiable and mistreated. My son was food poisoned by the rotted scallops, still covered in blue liquid fridge preservative. The baked potato was rubbery and preheated. The salad was fresh and good. We loved this place! Wow! What a treat! The ambiance was perfect. Just right for a seafood restaurant. Our server, who never introduced herself, was great and efficient. She brought me Diet Coke instead of Coke. Twice. But probably better for me. The clam chowder is a bit thin and light on the clams, but delicious. My lobster and side salad were truly excellent. My wife said her fish and chips might be the best she's ever had and she gets that frequently. We intend to return to Anglers soon. read more

They only had one lobster when there was three of us wanting the lobster meal. The waitress kinda shrugged it off like oh well, it's 3:30 on a Monday and you expect us to have what you want? we were charged for unlimited drinks but sat with empty glasses until we left. No offers of refills. They could have offered a free appetizer or dessert to share for the lobster debacle. As usual it was chilly and not welcoming. very disappointing to say the least. Anglers service is fantastic - the waiters/waitresses there are so friendly and nice! The problem is.... It's the food. Everything that is fried needs one. little. thing. Salt! They don't put any seasoning in their fried food! It is very bland, and you find yourself pouring out half a salt shaker on it before you can eat it. But their spicy mussels are delicious and I would definitely recommend those. All in all it's a decent place to eat, but I wouldn't necessarily highly recommend it either. read more

I would just suggest if eating there to make sure to read reviews to see what and what not to order. And check your receipt.
