Wow. Great restaurant. Love the whole vibe of this one. Our Waiter Ian was excellent. Their clam chowder is delicious. As well as their calamari, fried pickles and shrimp. Next time I'll will try some crab or lobster.

Angry Crab Shack - Grand Opening Review 7019 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX 79912 We checked out the grand opening of Angry Crab Shack on the Westside, hoping for seafood magic and some spice to match the summer heat. Spoiler alert: the only thing boiling was us. At this point, A.C. in Angry Crab might as well stand for Air Conditioning-less. --- The Good: Live Wing-Eating Competition: Shout-out to the firefighters who dominated! Super fun to watch and brought great energy to the event. Renovated Interior: The space looks completely different from when it was Weck's. Bright, lively, and a new seafood tank installed (more on that later). Friendly & Attentive Service: Our server (formerly of Lola Rose!) was fantastic. She handled everything with grace, including a kid-caused water spill, and gave great menu recs. Kid-Friendly Staff: Quick refills, fast reactions, and patience all around--big plus when dining with littles. Reasonable Prices: For a seafood-focused restaurant, the prices weren't bad at all. --- The Not-So-Great: Seafood Tank Situation: The tank was... questionable. It's a cool idea to show live seafood, but it was oddly dirty--especially for a grand opening. Kind of kills the "fresh" vibe. Stifling Heat: Our section was roasting. The AC couldn't keep up with the crowd, and it made the dining experience tough. We ate quickly, packed up the rest, and bolted after the wing competition. Food Quality (So Far): Wings: My husband said they were just "meh". Gumbo: This was the house special, made fresh daily--but flavor-wise, it fell flat. It was bland at the restaurant and still bland reheated the next day. The garlic bread was a nice touch, and the portion was big, but we expected more from a chain that should have its recipes dialed in. --- Final Thoughts: We really wanted to love this place--especially since it's so close to home. But the grand opening felt like a rough draft. Hopefully, it was just growing pains, and once the AC gets fixed and the kitchen finds its groove, the crab boils and entrees will be worth a return trip. We'll be back to try the actual boils once things cool down...literally and figuratively.

    Crab and shrimp boil

The best seafood boil in El Paso! Reasonably priced and great service. The vibes in the restaurant felt like you were close to the beach! Definitely will be coming back

I'm super excited we have a great crab spot off mesa! Everything from the ambiance, service, to the food was amazing! As soon as we walked in the staff quickly greeted us and made us feel welcomed! They made sure to ask if it was our first time there and made us feel comfortable and guided us the whole way. We ordered a couple of appetizers and everything was really good. The shrimp boil was so perfect, I'm picky when it comes to shrimp- but these were big juicy and tasty! The trifecta seasoning at level 2 spice was the perfect combination. Our server let us know which spice level had ghost pepper so we could avoid it being too spicy. Will definitely be coming back again!!

The claims were good. The lobster roll? Not so much. That's all I've tried so it's a limited review

The service was very helpful but not pushy, and the food was very good and a different style from what we might ordinarily enjoy in El Paso.

Had the chance to visit during their soft opening this past weekend with one of my friends who…read moreloves oysters just as much as me, and we both agreed that it is super refreshing to see an establishment like this come to town. Adjacent to the The Tiki Room, Pearl Divers features a rotating list of oysters from different regions at $3 a pop. We had the chance to try all three oysters that they were featuring for the day and we really enjoyed the palette. The oysters featured might've been limited but they had a major punch to them with flavor. My favorite were the ones that were a bit more briny, truly small but mighty. Your oysters are brought out with the traditional crackers, hot sauce, mignonette sauce, horseradish, and lemons. It was nice for them to all folks the chance to order in any quantity as I'm sure a few folks might be trying oysters for the very first time in a landlocked city. The had a finessed menu featuring carpaccio, tartare, and about ten to fifteen dishes encompassing appetizers to main entrees. We had ordered the carpaccio but it never came out (no biggie, again it was soft opening so we came in with an open mind). Since we got there a bit later in the day, they were out of frites and I am a loyal fan of oysters, frites, and bubbles (wine at the minimum). This just means we'll have to be back. What was most important to me though was the service and how friendly the staff was. We opted to sit at the bar (as one should at an Oyster bar) and be as close to the oyster display as possible. I used to live in New Orleans for a few years so sometimes when it's busier and you're chatting away they'll shuck an extra one to you every so often to try. I'm pretty stoked to see the dining scene continuously elevating and Pearl Divers is a nice rendition. I'll be certain to come back and can't wait to see what a five-star experience is out of their soft opening phase. *** If there is one piece of feedback I'd provide is to have smaller spoons for the mignonette and forks for the oysters. The current sizes are a bit too large and can easily ruin the integrity of the oyster when making sure it's been properly separated and not intact, as well as, not being able to have the right ratio of mignonette sauce for each oyster. The spoon was constantly hitting the mouth of the condiment cup.

The establishment was clean, great customer service and attentiveness, and the food was fresh. The martini that I had was awesome. I really love the touch of the blue cheese olives, the little gem Caesar was tasty and filling while the fish and chips were amazing and crisp and a mixed seafood. The mediterranean crudo was so flavorful, my wife and I really loved the scallop and salmon that was a part of the dish. We also thoroughly enjoyed the oyster Rockefeller as well. We would definitely visit again as the price to quality of food level was perfect.

A lot of shrimp, diced cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, and cilantro in a secret red sauce. It's lite and her consistent go to here. This visit I went with shrimp Oaxaca... which is a bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with marlin over black mole sauce. It was generously portioned, and the mole sauce was really good. The kids stuck with safe carne asada tacos. For drinks I tried their grapefruit margarita, which was tasty. I also had a Golden Hour, which is a scotch, lime honey, ginger, and passion fruit juice. It was good, but a bit sweet for my taste. Liz enjoyed her jamaica (hibiscus) margarita. We've eaten inside, and outside, and it really ain't too special on the inside, and the outside is probably most bearable after sunset. Close parking is tricky... there are maybe four spots in front, some street parking on the side, but if you don't mind a short walk you can find something somewhere in Cimarron Market. This time around Mario M. did a great job of serving us. Anything we needed, we got. He was courteous and got our order out quickly. Recommended.
