If you know me, or read my reviews, you know I love snow crab legs. This is the closest location to my house to get my fix, so I stopped in with my boyfriend previously. I had been here a few times since it first opened, but it had been a while since the last visit. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted and sat. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Even offered a recommendation for a seasonal drink that was pretty refreshing. What We Ordered: ~ Angry Edamame: Always love edamame, and add some seasoning with a little spice - perfection! ~ Snow Crab (trifecta, spice level 3) + corn: My usual go to, but wish I did Level 4 though the server talked me out of it saying it's a big jump between the two levels. Next time, I'm going for it! Pretty decent flavor, though I've preferred other crab boils in the valley recently. ~ Fried Oyster Po Boy: My boyfriend said he wasn't a big fan of this comparative to the ones he has had growing up in Florida. Definitely a pass for next time. ~ Hot Honey Blueberry Lemonade: Very refreshing and perfect for the Arizona heat. Definitely love to see this drink on the menu or seasonally. Overall, a great experience with a low key atmosphere that you'd expect for a crab shack. Love the sinks to wash your hands! Ambiance is rustic but clean and they provide bibs, gloves and wet wipes which is a nice touch. Service was good. She had a bigger group to attend to so was a little slow but understandable. Food was okay but for the price... Crab: 3/5. For $85 bucks they should provide scissors bc the crackers did not work on the soft shells so was a PITA to get out the crab. And the seasoning doesn't get on the crab so if you like it you have to dip back into the bag. Lobster Roll: 4/5. For $20 bucks it was small but it came with a good portion of tender lobster and melted butter for dipping. The cajun fries were also good. This was out second time at this location bc our kids and grandkids love it but we wouldn't go back of our own accord as we expect more at that price point. read more

I had such a lovely evening at this place! The server was simply wonderful. Since it was my first time visiting, they were very patient and explained the whole menu so thoroughly. They even offered to put all my seafood into a metal tray for me, which was a very kind and helpful touch. I didn't have to ask for a thing the whole evening! I also want to thank James , the host. I'm sure I was bugging him over the phone being the old fart I am, but he was so polite and told me exactly when they usually get busy. Because of his help, we didn't have to wait long at all! Went with friends for dinner this evening & I tried this place for the very first time. Nate was our server & he was awesome! He checked on us a lot, was very helpful in helping me decide what to order, & even made sure no citrus ingredients were put in my order...allergies you know! I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Bowl with noodles & garlic butter sauce. My friends each got a lobster & shrimp bag with corn on the cob & potatoes & we all split an order of hush puppies. Very good dinner! The ambiance was casual & very enjoyable as we dined & shared laughs & conversation. The manager, Mike, even came to our table & talked to us. Seafood boils are one of my favorite foods of all time, and it's extremely hard to mess it up. However, I was very underwhelmed with the food here tonight. Some of the items were very overcooked and lacked adequate seasoning, plus not to mention, but our waitress got a few items in the order wrong. We've been going to angry crab for many years now, but this was our first time at this location. I think we have been spoiled with the Mesa location, which is always consistent. It's nice to see that they are expanding, but hopefully they can keep their quality more consistent. read more

This angry crab location was great right in the middle of the week not super busy not super empty. Food was spot on just what I expected. All of our food at the table was good. I had the half shrimp, half crab loyal, which was very delicious Cajun style with medium heat perfect for me. We did have an appetizer of hush puppies, which was delicious as well. Best hush puppies. I've had in a while. The server always made sure we were good to go. Had everything we need even brought a little extra sauce for one of us in the party that needed a little extra sauce the ambience on the places good little music in the background TV is over at the bar. They do get a little loud on birthdays, but that's not a constant thing as every now and then so kind of shock you which is awesome. Food was decent. Rice and beans did not have much flavor. Also it was very weird that rice and beans was considered one of the sides but it was crammed into a small to-go condiment container. How is that considered an adequate portion side? Fried catfish was good and flavorful. The disappointment and reason for low rating was the customer service and the overall vibe/atmosphere. Everyone looked sad or angry. I thought the only thing angry should have been the crab...Angry Crab Shack, but I guess not. The hostess seemed like she didn't want to be there and when I asked "how are you doing today" she awkwardly didn't answer initially and then just said "meh it's ok I guess." Wow! I was not expecting that. Maybe it was an off day for everyone because it was raining??? It just seemed very depressing. First time here as a business visitor from out of town and I hope this was just a one off. I thought prices were fine, location was in shopping center off the freeway, ample parking, vibe of a sports bar meets fast food seafood restaurant. Everything was delicious, I have been to this location many times and have been helped by wonderful people - but I'm writing a review today because Cristal ( my server ) was wonderful and even helped me open the lobster tail I ordered - I've never had one and it was wonderful. We went to the other location the last time we were is Arizona and were very disappointed because items were missing. This time we decided to try again but at this location. Night and day! We ordered online and went to pick it up. The women at the counter read off everything in our bags and showed us where they were without us even asking! It was my son's first seafood boil and he is absolutely hooked. He got the snow crab with sausage, corn, egg, noodles and soppin bread. I got the shrimp boil with all the same. 100% worth the price and will probably go back before we leave. read more

Great fish and chips! Crispy beer battered with not a lot of excess batter! Cooked perfectly! The fish came hot and was perfectly flaky! Our server, Kayla, was very attentive and knowledgeable! The Manager also came around to check on us! We came at lunch so it wasn't too loud yet. But it was busy. They have a very nice atmosphere and the music was a nice selection. So this is a love hate relationship for many years... I wana call Jon Taffer as this would make Bar Rescue in a heartbeat. I have watched this location thimble down from a family friendly sports hang out in 2017 to a bar fly hole fumagated by a rotting grease trap. Drink have fun watch sports laugh, but bar staff doesnt need to be in on it; unprofessional. This is solely a seafood boil place with alcohol, leave the Cajun cuisine be. Wife ordered a bag of shrimp. Why is it another $3.00 for two potatoes and a $3.50 quarter cut of sausage? But Ill repeat seafood boil is bread n butter seasonings bring people in, theres a positive. My catfish basket came out 16 minutes after my wifes food only thanks to the waiter checking in. The catfish filet was excellent size... but it was too cold and wet when battered... nothing stuck, fell apart, had afterbite. Spent $60 on a meal for just 2 people. The soda,water cups, paper boats and plating is getting much worse. Remember when you use to get a cool plastic cup with the logo on it? Abandon ship with this location. read more

We had the BEST TIME! We came because we heard about their lunch specials. We had the sweetest server Jess, she was quick with everything we needed! She gave us great recommendations on what to order for lunch! It was such a great deal, we spent 39$ and got one lunch shrimp special $10 and then a crab legs and shrimp special $18 we added rice 2$, cornbread 2$ and a boiled egg 1$. It was such a great experience! For my wife's birthday they even sounded an alarm and got her a cheesecake with a candle!! Went during their lunch special and got their 1/2 pound shrimp with 1 corn and 1 potato for $10 with the trifecta sauce. It was honestly so yummy. However, the shrimps were quite small compared to other seafood boil places I went, but the food was still good. I ate it with rice and that sauce was delicious. Our server was also super nice and gave us a complimentary dessert for my friend's birthday. We got the brownie with vanilla ice cream and man oh man, it hit the spot. Hot warm brownie with sweet cold ice cream. We didn't have to wait long at all. Service was so quick and efficient. Inside the restaurant there were plenty of tables and the walls were cool bc it was free art wall drawn from customers. They also take card which is always a plus. I have very big eyes, so I ordered a mixed bag of seafood boil. It had adorable little lobster tails, 2 kinds of mussels, headless shrimp, corn, potatoes. So much food that I had to take it home for another dinner, which was just as good if not better! My receipt did not print well so I can't fill you in on other menu items. The fried shrimp was descent, the coleslaw was fresh but could use some zip, the boil bag I had was not a thing to brag about and I would not revisit. Originally from a seaside city and raised on seafood, this was not a winner. AND to top the meal off... WHAT WAS THAT DISH, that was called grits?!! Okay I have come back since covid happened and let's just say this location has improved a ton, therefore I had to update my review! The manager on duty is always super nice and friendly towards my kids when we come in, he'll also grab a lobster out and show my kiddos, they definitely enjoy it every time. We came in for lunch recently, didn't realize they had lunch options and went with a catfish basket and their half crab and half shrimp combo. Our catfish basket was off to me so I had question it. My wife and I brought our three little boys here yesterday, and I have to say -- this visit was a game-changer. I truly believe Angry Crab Shack must be under new management, because the service we received was hands down the BEST we've had in years. All three gentlemen working the floor were outstanding -- friendly, professional, smiling the entire time, and incredibly attentive. Very casual style seafood place where you eat from a bag and get messy. Have never been here without a long wait. Often so long that we just left and went elsewhere. When we do get to actually eat at the joint, it's pleasant and satisfying. The prices are a bit steep for such a casual place but I guess that's the price to get fish in Arizona. She was very friendly, fun, and more importantly, super attentive to my dairy allergy. She even double-checked the calamari that looked like it was a different recipe since my last visit (it's not dairy free). The water-based version of the Trifecta seemed a little bland from what I remembered, but it was still good. It almost needed a couple more tablespoons of the seasoning for more depth of flavor, but there was definitely no shortage of garlic in my bag! Everyone I am in AZ... I NEED Angry Crab! I crave the mussels in trifecta sauce! My hubby has only heard the stories but hasn't gotten to try it yet. He is obsessed now too! Appetizers- Onion rings: super good! We didn't need these as we ordered a ton of food but dang were they tasty! Dunk in the sauce ... almost like a blooming onion! We always do the seafood boil per pound and have tried everything but enjoy the mussels in trifecta the most. Trifecta is a combination of Cajun, lemon pepper and garlic butter. We do a level 1 so we get a hint of heat and taste all the delicious sauce. Get some bread for sopping up all that sauce! This time we got to try both the blue and green mussels. The blue were smaller and we would get them again... the green were larger and had a little more mussel flavor. To each their own. We also tried the shrimp and should have gotten more mussels! Not that they were bad... I like how the mussels soak in all the flavor of the trifecta and the shrimp doesn't as much. Our teen got a burger and said it was "so good"... it had onion rings on it and she scarfed it up. My mother in law can't handle spice and she got the lemon pepper shrimp. She tried our trifecta and said she would get that next time. She was worried it would have given her heart burn or been too spicy. Cocktails- they had some interesting cocktails on the menu. We had a "Love Shack" and a Blueberry Mojito. Our server wasn't the greatest as she was difficult when it came to splitting the tab. She actually was pretty rude. We also ordered a side of grits and they shouldn't have sold them to us as they weren't cooked and were uncooked grit soup. (We grew up on grits and they should be thicker than water and creamy). We wouldn't recommend them. This sadly brought our experience from a 5 to a 4. Will be back for more Trifecta mussels! Crave worthy and I want them now! read more
