I ordered oysters and the first batch did not look good so they made a new order. And everything is good

My family and I decided to choose this restaurant for Father's Day and were very sadly disappointed. I am going to start with the good aspects, because there were some bright spots of the evening. The food was really good. I had a Strawberry Smash cocktail that had perfect balance. There was sweetness from the strawberry, balanced by the floral note of the basil and enough vodka to know it was present, but not get overwhelmed by it. For appetizers, we got the hush puppies, the calamari, and the fried oysters. All of it was fried well, all was well seasoned, and the cocktail sauce that came with them actually had a nice bite to it with the horseradish. The hush puppies were especially good. There was the traditional hush puppy texture with some nice jalapeno flavor that was present, but did not overwhelm it. For an entrée, I got the soft shell crab basket. The crab was decent - not the best one I have had, but not bad. The Cajun fries were seasoned well and had a nice crunch on the outside of them. The potato salad was very standard... it looked store-bought, it tasted store-bought, but it wasn't a bad store-bought potato salad. My fiancé got the shrimp and grits which he loved, I tried a shrimp and personally thought there was too much garlic. Now the reason for such a low rating, the service was really bad. So bad that the good quality of the food could not save the evening. When we came in, the restaurant was decently busy, but not overwhelming busy. The hostess informed us that it would be a 5-10 minute wait. We thought that was perfectly fine and told her we would go a get a drink in the bar while waiting for a table. About 20 minutes pass and I get worried that she misunderstood us and went to let her know that we were still interested in a table. The hostess was polite and informed me that she understood and was just waiting for a tabletop to open. Perfectly fine... I went back to the bar and we continued to wait patiently. It was about another 40 minutes when the bartender, who knew that we were waiting for a table, asked us if they have called us. I checked my phone and saw I received no text message. Even he said that he would go and check the status because it did not make sense that we were still waiting. As soon as he went to check, we received a text message saying our table is ready. I really liked the bartender. Once we were sat at a table, it took about another 5 minutes for the waiter to come and tell us he would be with us shortly. Then about another 10 minutes he came back to the table. He asked us if we wanted any more drinks, which my father did because he was purposefully waiting to sit at the table before he ordered another beer and I ordered a soda, because I was driving and would not be drinking more. He also asked what kind of soda my brother had since he was almost empty. He immediately brought out my soda, but not one for my brother, and my dad's beer took a minute to come. When the waiter took our orders, my dad was in the mood for catfish, but specifically asked the waiter if it had a cornmeal breading. The waiter admitted that he did not know, but said he knew that it was a batter, not a breading. My dad told him that if it was a batter, that is what he would want, but if it was a cornmeal breading, he would send it back immediately. The waiter said that he would check first. The appetizers came out fairly quickly, then the clam chowder that my brother ordered (which the soup itself looked fine, but the bowl had soup all over the sides of the bowl and was a mess), then the baskets came out. Sure enough, the catfish had a cornmeal breading, and just as he said, my dad sent it back immediately. They offered to get him something else, but he was already tired and just wanted to leave. On top of it, my fiancé's meal took about another 10 minutes to come out (the shrimp and grits). If the food came from different parts of the kitchen, you did not receive them at the same time. Beyond that, the waiter did not even come to the table to address my dad's meal until after my fiancé's meal was served. When he did come back, he admitted that he forgot to ask the kitchen what type of breading was on the catfish, which he should have confirmed it before the order ever came near the kitchen. When they offered to replace his meal again, he did not want to wait any longer and just wanted to leave. We did not see a manager at all, but I have a feeling the manager was never told about it, to be fair. All of the service issues are training issues and not necessarily the individuals themselves. Every employee was nice and respectful. I really do not think they were trained well. It is sad, because this place has such high potential, but as much of a train wreck that meal was, made it very difficult for me to think well of this restaurant. Good value. Very casual place. Only place in town to serve this kind of meal. The mussels were very good. We would go back .

The lack of service and attitude displayed at the place was astonishing. If over priced sea food and bad service are what your looking for this is the place for you. Food was brought out to wife first and my food never came out. As she finished they miraculously brought my food out without any explanation. It's ok we were done and gone and we left without me eating dinner. As usual nobody's gonna care but I'll make it my mission to let all of my Vet friends and coworkers know about this wonderful experience I had on Fathers Day. read more

Ordered to go for Delivery, asked me for if I wanted to put in any notes specific instructions, I put plastic ware, napkins ... my food got delivered to me and literally the bag was the seafood boil bag you know how messy this food is, inside the bag how in the world do they expect someone to eat the food without plastic ware and not one single napkin or bib.. I called spoke to the manager and all she did was blame the dasher made excuses I said the person who bags a to go meal in the bag how do you not take accountability expect a customer to eat the food like this. So recently I visited this new location I usually go to the Grant location but since the built this one closer to me I decided to give it a try well unfortunately this will be my last visit due to the fact I got food poisoning later that night I told my waiter my eggs where rubbery and my snow crab was extremely cold hr just seemed frustrated and there was nothing he could do. This wasn't the 1st time I received rubbery eggs I very disappointed because this is one of the only sea food boil places out here and I spent well over 150$ on my last visit just to be very sick. read more

I can only address takeout from this place as I haven't eaten inside. I will say that they do takeout very well. The order was correct and ready at the promised time. The employee that I picked up from was friendly and went through the entire bag in front of me to make sure everything was there and properly packed. My party ordered the shrimp and oyster po boy and it was quite tasty. The only thing I would do differently would be to omit the lettuce, pickle and tomato and top with coleslaw instead. Where I come from that's just how po boys are made. They do have coleslaw on the menu though so you can always do it yourself. The shrimp and oysters were cooked perfectly and the roll was nicely toasted We also ordered the gumbo and it was yummy. It's a little spicy but not overly so. It was perfect. The hush puppies are quite good too with a nice jalapeño bite to them. The calamari was also good. The only thing I was totally unimpressed with was the onion rings. I like beer battered onion rings but I don't want the beer to overpower the onion. These did. Overall this was a good takeout experience and we will order from here again. read more

Food was ok. I had fish and chips. Fish was 3 stars, chips 4 stars. My wife had shrimp and rice, sides of potato salad and Cole slaw. Potato salad was 4 stars, Cole slaw 2 stars because it was flavorless. My wife's shrimp was 5 stars, rice was ok. Give it 4 stars. Restaurant was not clean but typical for a beach style fish house. Servers were ok but could have been better. Asked 4 times for the Cole slaw to 3 separate waiters. One finally responded. But I was done eating by then. 3.5 stars overall but that may be too generous. read more

Cajun restaurants have a hard time breaking into mainstream culinary communities because of the spices - and sometimes the stigma. This is so unfortunate, because it's the best in the country when it sticks to its original gameplan. Angry Crab Shack is great, but it's holding back. Red beans and rice need a little black pepper, a cumin kick, and more simmering time. Catfish breading needs more seasoning. Blackened boudain (not on the menu) would be a great item to draw a crowd (after they learn what boudain is because nobody around here has a clue). I give this place 4 stars for what it is, and 5+ for what it could be if it would stay true to its Cajun roots and spirit. And I knew Floyd Landry. read more

We were seated it took 26 minutes to get water. Was told we could order but the kitchen was behind. So we have another 30minutes before they can submit our oders to the kitchen. Angry Crab has just the right size menu. Went there for date night and we were immediately seated and taken care of. The beer is nice and cold. We ordered a seafood boil trifecta with a pound of snow crab with corn on the cob and red potatoes. We also ordered hot wings, cajun fries, and hush puppies. It was all delicious and we were very satisfied. This place is awesome!!! read more

We were very disappointed!! We were looking forward to this evening ..Party of 3 seated by hostess in bar ! Me , my husband and our 18 year old daughter..drinks given by hostess told enjoy .. last we seen or heard from anyone who worked here for 20 mins!! They were not busy at all but, as we were walking out we were approached by someone cleaning the booth behind us asking if we were leaving.. ??!?!??? Really!!! Yes we are leaving!!! If someone would have approached and simply said I am your server , we are short staffed I will be with you in a moment it may have been different but no! That was not the case at all!!!! When I got there it was a bit awkward because I guess there wasn't hardly anyone there . But I just wanted to go and eat ,. Idk if I gave off a negative energy but the vibe changed after I was eating. One of the male servers told me after I was done eating, it was better if I had put my crawfish shells in the bucket insead of leaving it on the table ,which had a big piece of paper . The seafood was subpar! The lobster tails were mushy, the taste made my husband and I gag. The potatoes were rubbery and the corn was mush as well. The atmosphere was that of a cheap gang bar. But the food was simply the worst experience of this evening's meal for us. Brace yourself for the tartar sauce, it has a lot of yucky mustard in it! I have never experienced this in any restaurant!

On a busy Friday night we saw the staff working very hard. They did a good job of waiting on everybody. We found out quite soon into our dinner that one of the particularly rude people sitting at the bar was one of the owners. He demanded constant attention and affirmation from his staff. He was drinking and did nothing to help with dinner service. If the staff hadn't had to devote a large amount of attention to him they would've been able to better serve real patrons. As an owner he should have been helping his staff, getting ice for the bar, asking if anyone needed help, keeping quality control. Instead of drinking and demanding attention he could have taught his cooks that garlic, when overcooked, becomes bitter, that lobster, when cooked properly, isn't tough and stringy. We need east side long term establishments, not flash in the pan , novelties. It would be a shame to lose another Tucson eatery due to mismanagement. Please Sir, get off the barstool, stop drinking during work and manage your business. The staff was very pleasant and the bartender was funny and did a good job. As you walk in the place is super bright. The lobster roll is horrible. I think I can only taste celery the bread was stale, kind of pricey.

I've been to this location a few times and it seems like service and quality of food just keeps going down. Super disappointed tonight. Food was okay; calamari was super dry and over cooked, fried oysters were not that great one oyster was really gross! service was super slow for it not being packed took about 20 min for someone to just get our drink order but staff was polite! read more

Drinks were decent, but took forever. Food was very bland. The beans and rice had no flavor at all. The potato salad was a good texture but needed more flavor.
