Our dog Riley had a mass on his eyelid that needed to be removed. He also has inflammatory bowel disease and acid reflux so we were concerned about the possibility of him having reflux and aspirating during surgery. We live on the peninsula and called an opthalmologist near us first. We got a really bad feeling about the place from the initial phone call and reviews, so decided to drive across the bay to see Dr Chen at Animal Eye Care. So very glad that we did! The staff is friendly, welcoming to both pets and pet parents and highly professional. I was able to go in with Riley to his pre surgery appointment and talk with Dr Chen. I found him to be compassionate, caring and knowledgeable. Riley had his surgery this morning and all is well. He's home and resting. They were great on every level. I highly recommend them.

I'm dog sitting for my son and I had the good fortune to have to bring his German Shepard Sage in for a check up after being diagnosed with Pannus in both eyes. The level of care for Sage and myself was nothing short of spectacular! They took their time, weren't afraid of Sage and Sage responded so well with them. I wish I could recall the technician that came to the car to get us but she was truly helpful every step of the way. Dr. Thomas Chen has an excellent demeanor for working with animals. So calm easy going, patient and THOROUGH! I came away feeling so much better in helping Sage battle this condition. Glad my son found such a great facility! I wish I was a canine, I'd make them my doctor that's how pleased I was with them. Thank you so much for helping us help Sage.

I brought my 15 yo Shihtzu, Bebeto, here for his corneal ulcer to be treated and Dr. Chen and the vet tech was amazing. They did a corneal debridement and we had a 2 week recheck which at that time he didn't heal so Dr. Chen offered to wait an additional 2 weeks to give him more time. His corneal ulcer was still present unfortunately at the time of the recheck. We talked about future options for what to do next. Dr. Chen was so kind and responded to all my questions via email in a timely manner and explained our options with surgery going forward. Fast forward to the day of surgery Dr examined his eye once more and called me saying his eye actually looks good and he doesn't see the need to go forward with the surgery since he is comfortable with no squinting! Best news I could have gotten!! Huge thanks to Animal eye care in Fremont!! We appreciate you so much!

We love Dr. Davis and all of the staff, can't express that enough! She is so kind and gentle that you just automatically feel at ease and know your pet is in good hands. They all love and treat pets like they would their own pet. Dr. Davis was very attentive, patient at answering questions and explaining everything. We're so grateful to have found her. Thank you Dr. Davis for everything!!! We would not trust our baby Xena with any other ophthalmologist.

My dog had corneal ulcer in both of his eyes (not at the same time). Our vet referred us to Animal Eye Care. Dr. Hamilton is so gentle, nice, patient and professional. She kept my dog calm and relaxed. Both eyes recovered perfectly after the debridement.

Nothing but great things to say about this place. Dr. Davis and Dr. Chen have been amazing to work with when our corgi had a sudden onset glaucoma/uveitis/and a detached retina. They saw us within 2 days (which was rare considering I called 6 other places in the area and everyone else was booked 2 weeks out). We live in Stockton and it was worth driving 2+ hours every few weeks to get the quality care they have provided for us. Their staff is friendly, prompt, and super helpful. Amy has been our main person of reference for 6 months and the entire staff has always gone above and beyond to respond and be helpful for anything we've ever needed like med refills, appointment accommodations, etc. The Center did not do the eye removal surgery that we eventually needed to have done, but they explained our biopsy results thoroughly and what to expect in the future for our follow up appointments. Thank you so much for going above and beyond for our sweet boy! ***The Center does require a prepayment to hold your appointment spot, and it is not cheap. This may seem silly and annoying but it saves your appointment and gives clients who really need services (like we did) an open spot. Like all animal medicine and care facilities, it can be expensive but you get what you pay for. This place is all about quality and unfortunately it does cost a bit. But it's no more expensive than other animal eye places from what I've researched. We were lucky and incredibly thankful to have pet insurance to pay the bulk of what we went through, but I would do it all over again if it meant my our corgi being happy and health.

    After survey! Healthy, happy eye!

Dr. Bruno saw them both for their whole lives. We credit them with helping Zoe & Mia live such long healthy lives, especially for giant breed dogs. Sending her off was maybe the most difficult experience of our lives, but Dr. Sharma was an angel in disguise in relieving the aches and pains that old age brought for Mia. I've had good experiences and not so great experiences here…read more I had to get follow up tests done for 2 of my pets after they ingested too many supplements and they were quick, responsive and able to get us in on time and handled it well. I got a phone call from the vet with the test results and recommendations and appreciated it a lot. My partner took our cat here when they were sick and not moving - they played a huge role in the care for them and suspected potential cancer after x -rays and helped direct us to the right tests we needed. After the fact they helped us get prescription medicine to keep our cat comfortable as they deteriorated. We also had to bring him back to be euthanized and when he was at his worst. The experience was professional and I appreciated what they did for us that day. It was one of the worst days of my life and I lost my first pet and had to go through this for the first time and they helped my baby get through the experience. Now coming back for appts for stray kittens - they took over an hour and 20 minutes with them when there was only one other dog that was there for general checkup - they got 2 tests, said they gave them the flea medication, vaccination and dewormer. We got asked to get a stool sample and got a quote for spay/neuter for about $1400 and $1500. The pricing was pretty expensive with a lot of extras but if I declined some of the optional work it would still be over $800 each. We later got a call from the vet tech that they forgot to give the flea meds to the kittens and I could pick it up when I dropped off the stool sample. I found that super frustrating and unprofessional - I didn't get to go inside with them since they're doing construction on the lobby so I'm assuming they were having too much fun and cuddling kittens. Just an assumption though - can't prove anything - I was just frustrated. I'm back again for my other dog for a general checkup and an allergy medicine shot - they told me I'm the first slot of the day at 9:30am but when I got here there were 2 other families here and they got taken in first. Then they forgot about me and didn't come out and to chat with me and the check in didn't get printed when I was on time. They didn't come out to me until 10:15am and finally took him in. Today was especially frustrating and I'm confused since they've taken care of my other pets before. They definitely have a lot more availability than other vets in the east bay and it's helpful to be able to come here still. I would say their pricing is a little more expensive - things like the 3 IDEXX tests here are all separate and cost more whereas the emergency vet had a 3 in 1 test that was more affordable. The internet says average pricing for spays and neuters are $300-$500 for cats and $400-$1200+ for dogs - so their estimate is much higher than both of these general range of pricing.
