It's amazing and helpful staff with useful information letting me know what they are doing for the community

My first visit to Animal Humane New Mexico (AHNM) was the day they had a special event for Cats. "Caturday" - a Cat Cafe and Cat Craft Market all for the benefit of the kitties in their care. The front desk seemed to be a little uninformed about this special event, even though crafters were setting up on the patio. I toured the cat condos and the group rooms for multiple cats & kittens. I was totally surprised at how few cats & kittens they had. Where are all the stray cats that other cities have in their Humane Shelters? Just seemed very strange. The few kittens and 1/2 a dozen grown cats all seemed well taken care of - well fed and clean. Was I missing something? Were there cats that were being nursed back to health that were in seclusion and not available for adoption? Adoption fees were reduced to $10 for grown cats and $25 for kittens. A good introduction to Animal Humane New Mexico, but just an intro. I will go back and see the puppies and dogs before I make a final judgement.

I adopted my beautiful kitty here and it was the best decision. The adoption process was easy, he was healthy thanks to the team there and has been the best buddy for my son.

So I cannot speak to the adoption center or process, as I have not adopted an animal here. However their training staff has been excellent. We just enrolled Roxie Lasagna in puppy classes and she is having a blast and we cannot wait till the next class. Unlike some other training centers in the city Animal Humane actually encourages bringing the kids and whole family and having them all participate. This is a welcome change as it feels like more training the people not the doggos. I highly recommend signing up for a class (like the Perfect Pub Pet at Boxing Bear or Tractor)

After searching multiple shelters and rescues for a puppy I decided to go with animal humane for my first time adopting and the experience was A+! They were well organized, helpful, and very friendly. I thought the adoption fees were well worth giving our little guy a new home. We love our pup!

#28 for 2019 *NM DONUT KWEEN ADVENTURES* A day in the life.... i wanted to make some Red Velvet Donuts today but decided to pay a visit to @animalhumanenm My duckie#2 wants a kitty kat! Our search began here! We loved spending time with #Quincy the cat! Meow! He is adorable and loving! Our animal tech was awesome! It was a busy day at the Animal Humane Society but she she still had time to give us a rundown of Quincy's loving attributes! While we spent time in the bonding room we were able to ask questions about the cats and the process of adoption! We also toured the canine area and about saw 15+dogs. All adorable! The facility is neat and clean and it has a retail store that sells items for newly adopted pets. Items such as collars and toys for your pet. When you first walk into the canine Department there's a sign in sheet. Once you sign in your basic info the person at the desk will explain to you where the areas are for the dogs and cats. Its a fairly easy process and well worth it if you're looking to adopt a new pet! #nmdonutkweenadventures #kittykat #adoptapet #nokill #adoptacat #adayinthelifeofthenmdonutkween #payitforward #adoptadog #nmtrue #lovingcats #lovingdogs

This is a gem of a place. I insist all my friends who have dogs go through this training course…read more I've had all my dogs go through Acoma and can credit what I have learned in my class to saving the lives of my dogs time and again. These people KNOW DOGS and can help with difficult cases. Their main focus for the obedience training is safety first, and always. Trish and the gang always do an outstanding job training, and making sure you understand the process. They totally understand dogs and I would say they are Albuquerque's Dog Whisperers. The methods are tried and true and I have seen totally outstanding results from them time and again. The reason for obedience is to teach the owner how to work with the dog and together the owner and dog can learn to have a happy and safe life together. Trish and her ladies will have you and your dog well on their way to a long, happy life. The snake training for life is a superb idea and I will always go back for more. :) VERY HAPPY CAMPER. For those that gave a review citing 'fear and intimidation' system was used, did you go to the same place I did? I can hardly believe that. You need to learn to be fully integrated with your dog, which at some point will include discipline, not to be confused with fear and intimidation. For those that coddle their dogs, that method will hardly do the trick for ensuring a safe and happy life together. This is a very good training place, bar non, BEST IN THE CITY. That's a fact, Jack! :D

Great trainers. The class schedule is a bit limited. Mostly evenings. They also do agility training.read more

Staff are super attentive and nice, know my dogs Luna and Moody, take great care of them, they're always happy to go in, just waltz right in. Also good seeing consistent staff, same faces which was not the case at the previous place we used. It's all indoor, separated by weight which is also one of the best parts of Aries. Currently only open Tuesday through Friday likely due to staffing. Wish they were open more days! They are a little more expensive than the previous place we used, but worth it. Kong meal/snack is extra or included however you wanna look at it. They do have packages to bring the cost down, pay more up front for multiple days. I think comes out to about $27 a day with the package. They do have an extensive weeding out process which is good because it ensures only quality dogs are there, make sure they get along with other dogs, do ok in the kennel for a period of time. They also require vaccinations and tick/flea prevention. Notes I took when considering them v. Others: * Fecal exam giardia, parasites and coccidia within last 6-8 months * Flea and tick treatment, natural essential oils too ok * Intro 15 min then 1 hr later day free, T-F 830-1030 or 130-330 * hours: 7-1115, crate till 1245, back out till 415 then crated until end of day 6 * $1 per meal regardless if bring food or not * All indoor * No vet on call but has set up with vet nearby * No overnight * Grooming $45-55 * Walk in daycare * $30 full day * Buy 9 get 1 free or buy 17 get 3 free non-refundable Hope this helps other neurotic pet parents like me! We love Aries and am glad they exist for our pups! Especially love the staff! Thank you!
