Fashion Friend absolutely swears by her big AP knickers (I think they're the 'Love' full brief £55 for a luscious pair of lacy shorties that make you feel like Marylin Monroe) for feeling sexy and confident, even under her work clothes. AP isn't about dressing as a saucy soldier and flashing your nylon gusset, it's about feeling like a woman, and being all the sexier for it. As well as an awesome range of naughty and nice pants, AP ramps up the raunch with a fantabulous range of stockings, including the Europa hold up in a variety of colours (bagsy blue!) for £18, and the positively heart-attack-inducing latex stockings for £75. The former, you can wear to the office or on a night out with the ladies. The latter, well if latex is your thing and you've got the pins, go for it. They actually manage to come off classy! My favourite nightwear item was a sort of 'boyfriend shirt' type night dress, which looked like it would be both comfy and sexy in that very casual kind of way. Situated dangerously close to The Plant Shop, do make oneself heard when shopping for either pants or plants. Any unfortunate confusion could result in a rather interesting display for the house. This is a rather tiny shop and it uses the height of the walls to display its wares...anyone with claustrophobia may find themselves in the somewhat amusing nightmare scenario of being menacingly loomed at by slowly encroaching walls of granny knickers!...Actually to be fair the knickers aren't all that 'granny', most of a reasonably pleasant design, some with spots and florals. They also sell a range of Y-fronts, one pair bizarrely emblazoned with 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'! Also for men are some thermal undergarments...a pretty good idea in the recent weather! (Or if you want to save on heating bills or save the planet!...Or both!) Aimed presumably at a younger customer are a wide range of brightly coloured leg warmers and stripey socks and some neon fishnet fingerless gloves, adding a sense of fun and a splash of colour to a generally practical and understated shop.

I was fitted by Karine, who was friendly, but the fitting itself crossed clear boundaries. A professional bra fitter should always ask for consent before touching breast tissue. That did not happen. There was no explanation of what she was about to do, and at one point she lifted my breast very close to an intimate area without asking and made a strange "popping" noise. I haven't had a fitting in years, but the lack of communication made the whole thing feel inappropriate and uncomfortable. I also felt pressured into buying a bra for £145, and on top of that, they tried to sell me a £500 bra scheme. Only afterwards did I discover the exact same bra was cheaper on the PrimaDonna website and available for around £70 from another online retailer. When I returned to discuss this, Sally refused to give me a refund. She also made it clear she doesn't like when people come in for the free fittings the shop advertises, and even told me she wanted to get me out of the shop quickly. Her attitude was extremely rude. She didn't seem to know how to use the card machine, and the way she spoke to me was unfriendly and dismissive -- I genuinely felt judged and looked down on. Between the uncomfortable fitting, the pressure to buy, the inflated pricing, and the unprofessional customer service, this was an awful experience. I would strongly advise others to approach with caution. I will not be returning.

There's a posh health food store, there's a high end cake shop, there's umpteen posh gift stores and there's this place - Fit to Bust. Now, as far as I'm concerned, all of the above can stay. There is absolutely nothing wrong with paying that little bit extra for quality, and I mean quality not branding! In here, that is exactly what you'd be paying for - quality. I nipped in here to have a nosy having been amused by their window signage - there is a list of bra sizes with some funny little phrases to accompany them, such as 'A - almost boobs' and 'B - barely there' etc. I went in and was greeted by a lovely lady who asked me if I wanted anything in particular. I said I just wanted to have a look, and that was fine. She told me a little bit about the place and said that they were professional, specialist fitters (with a specific phrase that has escaped me) and I asked her what that meant exactly. She said, "You know, like the royal specialist fitters, for the queen and such." I still had a blank face and she went on to explain that meant that they could tell your size simply by sight and there was no need for any touching - pretty impressive if you ask me! Inside there are hoards of beautiful lingerie items to choose from, all displayed exquisitely in vintage style wardrobes lit by a delightful chandelier style light fixture. I think I went up 20% in class simply by entering the shop, that's how beautifully detailed and wonderfully arranged it is! As well as lingerie they had some gorgeous hosiery, nightwear and even men's pyjamas were on the sale rack. The prices ranged quite high, I imagine that you'd need at least £100 to get you started, but then it's the quality that you are paying for. More than anything else, however, it is the service that I'd go back for - you are unlikely to find better advice and a more professional fit anywhere else.

You can expect the whole gamut when it comes to undies, including varieties of pants that I didn't even know required a name, and bras of virtually every conceivable colour, shape, and style. (That's perhaps hyperbole, but there is a massive range.) I've been to another branch in the states a few times, but never found anything that inspired me to spend the whole fifty quid on a bra. This time, it was different. If you're not au fait with the whole deal, the best thing to do is to actually speak to one of the assistants. The two ladies who helped me were not only super friendly, but excellent in helping me navigate the overwhelming mass of garments before me. As well as beautifully crafted smalls, the shop also has a number of perfumes, make up, night wear, and other bits. The whole shop smells amazing, actually. And if you're in any doubt as to sizing, get measured -- I discovered I'd been shopping for the wrong size my entire adult life. (Which is probably something tons of women do.) It's worth noting, however, that here you'll likely be a size bigger than you thought, since it's an American brand so the sizing works differently. A lovely shop, with fantastic staff, but worth saving up for since the price tag ain't shy.

I bought a new bikini this time which fits really well and is super pretty. Also treated myself to a gym top (they are made quite big so went for Xs and fits nicely), and a nightie from The main VS. This place is probably a bit more on the expensive side for underwear but it's so worth it. Maybe it is a good thing they don't have one in Scotland otherwise I would be there all the time!

Im afraid im not very confident as it is when buying underwear but seeing he couples in here buying the sexy things makes me blush more. They have a huge selection of underwear and 'love items' some in the budget range and some very pricey. The staff are lovely and very helpful and make you laugh and put you at ease. very nice store if you are confident enough to go in.

The knickers here are not, as I'd judgementally assumed, all large Bridget Jones style knickers or generally unattractive and unflattering...there's actually a selection of quite pretty French knickers with lace trim. There are also what appears to be girls' boxer shorts...or just fun, colourful boy's boxers. Some of the socks on sale really are wacky, with crazy neon patterns or neon lace and bows. Gloves are almost all blindingly bright shades of orange, yellow and green and only £1.00. They also sell thermal leggings and vests - brilliant at this time of year.
