My husband Shaunt and I were looking for a package deal on an engagement session and our wedding day. We arranged to meet with Jaclyn to discuss our vision, her pricing and learned about each other. After meeting with Jaclyn, Shaunt and I knew she was the perfect fit as our photographer. Her relaxed attitude, artistry and portfolio really captured us. My husband proposed in Maui by the beach at sunset so Jaclyn acknowledged that our engagement session had to be near the beach and towards sunset as it was very symbolic and meaningful to our story. Jaclyn even climbed a rock to find the perfect angle for one of the beach sand photos. The results were absolutely breathtaking. When it came to our wedding day, she brought an assistant to help cover 250 guests and other special moments. We told her what to keep an eye on during our Armenian Christian wedding ceremony and the traditions that take place at the reception. During a busy wedding season, she provided an extensive preview a couple weeks after our wedding in August. A few weeks later she provided the final link to all of our photos and they were jaw dropping. Jaclyn's work is so beautiful! She was easy to work with and very responsive when it came down to any questions via email/text. We are pleased and thrilled with all of our wedding photos as we know these will last a lifetime. The best advice I can give any bride to be's is clearly define what you're looking for in a photographer and your vision; this will lead you to the perfect fit.

I found Jaclyn on Yelp and really liked her work and reasonable pricing so I decided to give her a call to meet up for coffee. She was over 30 minutes late (although she did text me to tell me so) but I wanted to give her a second chance and look at her work. I really liked her personality and her portfolio was nice given she's only been doing this for about 4 years. She promised that she would not be late if we did use her for our wedding. I did mention to her that she had to be approved through the resort that we are getting married at since she lives out of town and she was okay with that. The wedding coordinator emailed Jaclyn to get her insurance but didn't get an email back. After several days passed, I emailed Jaclyn and didn't get a response email from her until a few days later. She indicated that she was busy all weekend and would call back the coordinator that same afternoon. Well, she never called! Since she was late for our first meeting, I feel that she should have been prompt with her follow through with me and the coordinator. Totally unacceptable. Perhaps it's her youth or lack of professional experience.. I expected more from a photographer that is trying to build her business. Your wedding is a very special day and all vendors that you use should make it a great experience. So, if you want a photographer that is tardy and lacks quick response but is cheap and does fairly good work then you found your gal.

From the initial consultation to the wedding night, we were absolutely ecstatic with the whole process of working with them. It's difficult to discuss everything they did right since there were no complaints on our end. Bottom line, planning for a wedding is a process and can be stressful, but picking them will help eliminate any worry of that portion of stress. They provide great work, they're great to work with and they're affordable for the quality you are getting. They also have great turnaround time for photos. Cate is a wonderful person! We immediately booked her on our first meeting. We looked at her…read moreportfolio online days before we set an appointment to meet her. She was within our price range even her top package was reasonable (but now she raised her prices, so sorry to those who are about to book her) and her photography style is what we're looking for - photojournalistic. We interviewed more than 15 photographers and was about to hire another one (to make a long story short, we're glad we didn't get him). When that didn't turn out well, we kept looking for weeks for another photographer until we came across Cate's website. We saw, we loved and we immediately booked a meeting with her. We were a little disappointed that she didn't bring any albums or pictures of her work. She did answer all our questions and concerns. We also asked if she accepted credit card and she said "yes, thru paypal". Not sure if she set up Paypal yet or if she accepts credit card now but we ended up having to pay her via check for her services. So came the time we had to take our engagement pictures (part of the package), we mentioned that we wanted some garden and beach scenes. She was ok with that and suggested San Francisco. It was fine with us because we know there's alot of great places there. We went to the Japanese Friendship Garden in SF but ended up spending most of our time there. We didn't have enough time for the beach pictures because we were an hour late for her photo shoot so I guess we couldn't blame her for wanting to go home. We would have wanted some beach shots. But she was truly easy and fun to work with and always has great ideas for our shots. July 2008 - Wedding day came and Cate was there on time. She started taking pictures and got alot of great shots of me in my room. I didn't get alot of pictures with my girls because my girls weren't where they're suppose to be. But throughout the wedding, Cate got alot of great shots that told the story of our wedding day. She has a great eye for photography and captures alot of the silliest and best moments of our wedding day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Months later after the wedding: Cate sent us a sneak peak of our wedding pictures a few days after the wedding. After a couple of weeks, I emailed her to provide us something from our wedding. She immediately sent us a link to our pictures including a slideshow of our wedding. I was ecstatic because I finally have a link to send to my family (who's been bugging me for weeks). After a few weeks, we finally picked out 100 out of 1000 pictures for our album. Sent that to Cate and got a preview of the album. A few weeks later she was able to send us the DVD of our pictures and wedding album. I had to email her several times for issues with our pictures and finally she was able to complete everything in our package by January '09. We didn't get the hard bound, flush-mount album with nice, thick, vibrant pages and pictures we thought was a part of the package. Instead, we got one of those albums that was ordered from Apple. She did give us additional albums to compensate the wait on our album and photo-DVD but it would be nice if Cate shows her clients the album type and photos she took. It would also be nice if Cate offers the coffee-table style album.
