One of my good friends who is an avid Yelper took me here and this place didn't disappoint. The menu was family style and for our group of four, we ordered 6 items off the menu and it was the perfect amount of food. Everything was seriously so good but if I had to pick my top two favorites, it would be the Ricotta pasta and the salad. If you're on the fence about getting the salad, just trust me and get it. It was so tasty, even for an item that could feel unexciting to order. The service was also incredible. It's clear that the servers are very knowledgeable, and they're trained to very high standards as they kept up on water refills, were on top of it about changing silverware and plates between the dishes that came out, and were so polite. This place is located inside of the Stanley Hall, and has been on our want to try list for a while This is a fine dining, setting with cute interior and demon intimate vibe for date night and dinners. Service was very friendly. To start, we ordered a salad and a potato gnocchi. We loved the salad dressing and the feeling and flavorful gnocchi. Will definitely order the gnocchi again. I ordered muscles and Frits for entree. I love the white sauce with the muscles however, there was quite an amount of sand in the muscles and though I enjoy the flavor, I wish it was cleaned better. Frits were awesome too and I ended up asking for more bread to dip in the muscle soup I was disappointed in the beef tongue because even though the toppings were special and flavorful, the beef tongue itself was over cooked and kind of hard. It was further overwhelmed with toast served. They don't really go well together, and the toast was very greasy and heavy. Bone marrow was not that prominent on top of the toast The other on tree that we ordered was pork loin. It came with pickled cabbage, and overall it was a great portion and balanced flavor. Delightful experience. The place was small, quaint and the food was spectacular. Service was very attentive and polite. I'd rate it higher if they didn't tack on a hidden service fee on the bill. So glad to finally enjoy a meal at Annette. With the same name as my older sister I knew this restaurant would be great and it was. Everything from the decor to Antonios fantastic service to the delicious drinks and food options was top notch. They have happy hour till 5:30 on Sunday so took advantage of an old fashioned that is not part of the normal The deviled eggs is more of an egg as it is two halves on a plate. The filling was very tasty and garnished with chives or green onions. The cocktails are well thought out and balanced. My wife had the tip of the spear & fully enjoyed it. The sangria is made with rose & aperol so more bubbly & lighter than other red wine based sangrias. The chicken liver pate was our favorite with cherry mostarda. The grilled bread is the perfect vessel for the pate & topping. It's something that I will get every time if available. The oysters were great with fresh horseradish and onion mignonette. The Annette burger is messy in the best of ways with house made pickles, sauce and beef cooked medium rare (chefs suggestion) with a mess of perfectly salted French fries. The pork was our last dish and so flavorful, juicy and tender. It can definitely serve 4 people as it's a large portion. Will be coming back to Annette again soon. read more

With all the articles about how this place should be Michelin-rated, my expectations were high, unfortunately, it was overhyped. First, it's in a food hall mall setting, so that alone kills the ambiance and uniqueness of a restaurant for me. The inside is nice, cozy, and bit noisy. I liked the plants in the main dining area to break up the room. The service was OK, but it lacked the care and interest in food. There was no explanation of the dishes or checking in, it was just food being served. The food: The apple crisp salad was basically all apples. Not sure what the idea was here, but we sent it back. The butter lettuce salad was nice, but too much cheese. I think it could have used some seasonal ingredients to spice it up or make it memorable. It didn't feel like it took any special skills to put this together. The beef tongue was nicely cooked. I would have preferred some horse radish with it to add some spice and contrast. The bread with bone marrow didn't really compliment this dish. It was too rich and overwhelming. The fantasy eggplant was a nice dish, but again it didn't blow us away. It was nicely cooked, but forgettable. The dish that disappointed the most was the burger. It was overcooked, dry and the patty was a bit small and just didn't really look like an amazing burger. The sea of fries on the plate also looked messy and amateurish. It would have been nice to have thick-cut fries in a nice cone or something more elegant. I was born in Denver though I grew up in Southern California. As a result, I have travelled to Denver many, many times to visit friends and family. I have not historically had the best luck finding truly remarkable cuisine in Denver, however. This trip, I performed some due diligence in advance and found Annette, which was truly remarkable. Me and four friends arrived for our reservations and were promptly seated. The waitress was an absolute gem and made the night memorable with her kind demeanor and witty humor. Per her recommendation, we ordered and split a variety of items. Among our favorites were the fries, spiced nuts, chicken pate, and spaghetti. All of the food was bursting with indulgent flavors and the pate, above all, had a semi-sweet topping that I was not expecting but adored. The gratin was a modern take on a classic and was rich, but not offensively so. For drinks, we mostly had beers, which were tasty local fare. Aww, memories. I came to Annette for a dinner date because he wanted to show off the incredible customer service and delectable cuisine. Well he wasn't wrong. I really enjoyed the experience, and it's impressive that the majority of Yelp reviews mention how great the staff is. Parking was easy in the Stanley Marketplace lot as always. Love any excuse to come here. We were seated right away because of our reservation and how empty the restaurant was 4pm on a Wednesday. I started with a refreshing Dirty Martini and felt classy (slightly underdressed) in the bright and airy ambiance. Cute plants and light fixtures. We had a wonderful conversation with our waitress, who wasn't in any rush and took the time to explain any menu items we asked questions about. Between the two of us, we ordered a seemingly obscene amount of food. Fortunately most of the dishes were on the small side. Or if you're one person, it might be possible to get half orders. My favorites were the Egg Salad Toast, Pork Tenderloin, and Beef Tongue. I've never had those textures and flavors before... so good! Wasn't as big of a fan of the Chicken Liver Paté, Leeks, and Chicken Schnitzel. My date really came back to this place to get the latter. We had an amazing dinner here tonight! Our server, Molly was warm, engaging and very helpful with suggestions. We started with the Annette martini and the caviar potato. The cocktail was perfect with their version of a tatertot with caviar, crème fraiche and chives. The tot was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Next course the butter lettuce salad (generous portion) with radishes and crispy shallots and the beef tongue, pickled beet relish and parsley. Both incredible. We had a nice bottle of white Burgandy with the pork medallions, cilantro jalapeno aioli and marcona almond, pickled cabbage slaw. Dessert was crème puffs with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel. Went here with my partner for Valentine's Day. The service was super friendly. The food was phenomenal. We got the beef tongue, chive salad, chicken and steak frites. I've heard raves about Annette for a few years but had only eaten there once, when we were outside in a little greenhouse and had a server who was so intrusive that I don't remember anything about the meal except that I couldn't enjoy it because of the server. Last night was totally different. We went in at 7:30 on a Friday with a reservation and were seated immediately and treated to cordial service throughout. The decor is lovely -- a bit industrial but also cozy with a woodland theme, which fits their wood-fired food. Our server helped us a select a bottle of wine that would suit us both and recommended how to order (about 2 plates per person). We had the tahini grilled carrots (excellent), orecchiette with peas (tasty, although we wished there were more peas), spring onion gratin (only meh--we didn't even finish it) ... and the beef tongue and marrow toast, which was absolutely the star of the show. They have a very small dessert menu so we didn't order dessert. We'll look forward to returning soon. read more

Annette has made our list of favorite restaurants during the pandemic! We first came here to celebrate my husband's birthday earlier this year because we were tired of not eating out and were too wary to dine indoors with strangers at the next table. Alas, Annette has these cute and cozy greenhouses for an interesting take on "outdoor" dining. They're about the perfect size for an intimate, romantic dinner. We've been here a few times so far for both brunch and dinner, and there isn't anything on the menu I wouldn't recommend. As for recommendations...where do I even begin?! For breakfast, their baked goods/ biscuits are buttery and satisfying. For dinner, the salads we've tried are done extremely well and a tried-and-true favorite is the whole roasted European sea bass. What a wonderful experience! The restaurant itself is situated inside of Stanley Marketplace, which is essentially a large food/shopping hall. Reminds me of Chelsea Market in NYC a bit. The space is open, airy, minimalist, earthy, and beautiful. The service was fantastic and the food matched. While the menu is small, everything I ate and drank was delicious. I'm dining for one, so my ordering was limited by my stomach unfortunately. I ordered the fries with garlic aioli and the pumpkin waffle because, Halloween. I got a glass of sparkling chenin blanc (crisp, apple, pear notes) and a glass of cold brew. The fries were delicious--shoestring style, crispy, and salted out of the fryer. The aioli was acidic and garlicky. Overall, delicious. The waffle was of pumpkin sourdough variety. It came with a Dulce de leche whipped cream, pecans, and maldon flake salt. The edges were crispy and the cream softened the center. It came with a side of maple syrup, but no need for butter because of the velvet texture of the whipped cream. About halfway through my meal, Daniel brought me a complimentary second glass of sparkling chenin b. It was such a wonderful surprise! He was extremely kind, as was my primary server. She was very attentive and helpful with menu recommendations. When the check arrived, it had a 25¢ zero carbon offset fee--amazing! I'm thrilled to see that. We were in Denver checking out universities and read about Stanley Aircraft shopping mall. An old airplane manufacturing site turned into a mall featuring local merchants. It was pretty cool that so much space was given to local businesses without corporate chains. Several restaurants occupied spaces here, but we decided on Annette because that is my wife's name. A beautiful dining area filled with plants and big windows to let light in. The service here was outstanding. I felt like we had 3 people looking after us the whole time. Overall, I would give this place a 4.5/5 stars Annette is a fancy restaurant located inside Stanley Marketplace. We made a reservation online, and the restaurant was nice enough to give us a 15 minute grace period to arrive (since we were running late). We were seated outside in a greenhouse, which had a heater, so it wasn't too cold. The greenhouse was a super cute set up, but definitely a little small. Our waiter was very nice and explained the menu to us. Most of the dishes are for sharing, and the plates are pretty small. Some of the plates are larger entrees and can also be shared. We ordered the following items to share amongst 4 people, which was enough food to satisfy our tummies for a light dinner: Pork tonnato: 5/5 - this is thinly sliced pork with a creamy tuna sauce. The flavor was delicious. This dish is super light. Beef tongue with marrow toast: 5/5 - The beef tongue was phenomenally smooth and tender Spring tagliatelle: 5/5 - Delicious and flavorful pasta! The dish is really small and can probably be eaten in about 6 bites. Leek gratin: 3/5 - I think there was some flavor missing here since it was pretty plain. Texture was yummy though. Sea bass: 4/5 - Tender fish that was cut so that we could more easily separate the meat from the bones. Beautiful presentation. Skin was way too salty though Chicken liver pâté - I can't really rate this one since the other members of my party ordered it, and I just ate a little since I'm not a fan of pâté. This dish is quite large because they gave us 8 pieces of toast. Overall, this place has a beautiful ambience with excellent service. Food quality is spectacular for the most part, and definitely on the higher price range. Plates are quite small, so many dishes are needed to fill you up! I was here with a group of 5 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy but we had reservations and were seated outside without much wait. They had heaters and blankets which we used as the night got progressively chillier. Each dish we ordered was exceptionally delicious. Happy Hour at Annette requires a reservation. I tried walking in one time and was told they were all booked. Today the place is about a third full. I ordered the egg salad on toast and Manhattan. The egg salad was served on a crispy rustic toast with chives and oil. It was delicious except for too much salt on the bread. Otherwise, the egg salad was flavored just right. The Manhattan was served in a coupe. It was delicious, smooth, a bit sweet, and strong. Taryn B was my server and she knew how to prepare the drink. I sat at the bar and could see them prepare the egg toast. The dinner menu items are prepared in the back kitchen. I checked out the food ordered by fellow diners. I want to order steak frites next time for happy hour. It comes with sliced steak on a heaping mound of fries. A big plus was their reservation system; while I didn't personally make the reservation for our party, my friend credited how simple and easy it was, and that it allowed for you to select indoor/greenhouse/yurt. We were sat promptly during our reservation time, at 12 pm on a busy spring Saturday- so another big plus for their team for recognizing reservations in the busy period. Food-wise, I was a little underwhelmed with their brunch menu. Fairly simple and short- and actually fewer options than I'd expected. I ended up ordering the earl grey yogurt with granola and fresh fruit ($12); a light a tasty meal.... but not really sure it was worth the $12? My friend ordered black tea, and was a bit surprised by the full apparatus and French press contraction that came to our table (see photo). When it comes to restaurants that are doing/did COVID season right, Annette is truly at the top of the list. Not only is their food consistently pleasing to the eye and mouth, their outdoor greenhouses during the era of corona were truly as good as it gets for adapting to ever-changing rules. They were also a godsend to anyone who was looking for a place to safely dine out that took reservations. We normally go to Annette for brunch. We always get great service and love our food. Our favorite brunch items are the hash and the waffle, but it's tough to go wrong (except the breakfast burger, which isn't amazing). While the prices are higher than Ye Olde Pancake House around the corner, the quality of the food is great and much needed in the Denver metro area. COVID or no COVID, Annette is truly one of the gems and reasons to visit Stanley Marketplace. It's reminiscent of a really good NYC restaurant brought to our own city. The flavors are on point and interesting. The prices are higher than you're used to. But the experience is a step up from the better than ordinary. read more

I have sat on writing this review because it goes against the weight of the publicity that Annette has received. I was so excited to try it after reading the rave food reviews, both professional and amateur, and of course after learning that they received a James Beard award. Our experience just didn't live up to the hype. We had reservations but the hostess still seemed somewhat annoyed by our presence. We had requested to be outside but nothing was mentioned about resealing the pavement earlier that day. It took a bit to get moved somewhere with less fumes, but they were cordial about it. The wait staff was fine, nothing rude or inattentive to report, but it also wasn't the warmest or most descriptive service. For what I expected to be a fine dining experience, it felt a bit more standard. Again, the service was not bad, it just didn't go above and beyond. The menu was very limited, which I understand happens when the focus is on local ingredients, but it would have been nice to have a few more things to choose from. Two of our dishes had the same charred toast, which was good, but I didn't need to eat that much toast for dinner. My favorite dish was the pate, which was very tasty and delicate. The lemongrass clams were also very flavorful. Beyond that, the remaining dishes were fine. The cocktails were likewise fine, but pretty small and plain. All in all, I was expecting to really be "wowed" given the hype Annette has received. I thought the food was good, but not particularly remarkable. I was a bit disappointed overall. The fresh horseradish really makes a difference and brings out so much sweetness in the oyster. For our mains, we shared the steak frites and the skate cheek bouillabaisse. If you like fish, the bouillabaisse is a must. The fish was poached perfectly, super fresh, and tender. It's served with charred bread so you can soak up every last drop of the stew. They give you a spoon, but you literally don't need it. I ate the entire thing using bread as my scoop. The steak frites were also good, but the standout was the salad served with the dish. I've had a lot of salads in my life and never in my life has a side of dressed greens tasted so good. Please bottle up that pickled shallot vinaigrette and sell it.
