Fine, even though she kept me waiting for 15 mins so clearly being on time isn't a priority. I asked if she could remove the acrylic nails and if she knew of a place that did acrylics in the area (I don't live in this area and really needed a mani for the wedding I'm in on Saturday.) She said "I can fit you in in 3-4 weeks or you could try a strip mall." She removed the acrylics then took me to ring me up. Acrylic removal only. No cutting or shaping my real nails. No cuticle trim. No hand lotion. Nothing. I was charged $51.75!!! I have a pedi scheduled with them tomorrow (which I will be canceling) I would rather cut off my own feet then give them another penny.

The lady doing my treatment was very knowledgeable about it, she was kind and able to provide me with a lot of information about the treatment before and during. She let me relax and didn't speak too much, just enough that I knew what she was doing. Everything was super clean, the rooms were a little small but you aren't in there too long. To top it official they even applied make up on you after! It was the little things that went above my expectations! I would love to go back and definitely recommend it.

We visited New Year's weekend. I arrived to make an appointment for Dec. 31 (my birthday). They said that they would be closed on the 31st because it was a Sunday and would also not open Jan 1st. (As an aside, the resort is only open weekends in the winter, I would think you'd want to stay open on the one of the busiest event nights of the year...). I asked to make an appointment for that day. They had one 30 minute appointment available. I took it and returned 90 minutes later. The receptionist said that she canceled my appointment because her massage therapist realized that she already had an appointment for one of her "regulars" but hadn't written it in the book. I asked if they could reschedule me and the receptionist said, "No." I said, "Is that all you're going to do? Just cancel on me?" She replied yes. I left annoyed that my appointment was canceled and they refused to reschedule for what had been their mistake. A few hours later I spoke with Guest Services at the Algonquin. The rep explained that they do not manage the Spa but she would still speak with them on my behalf. I heard back from the Guest Services representative and she said that the receptionist said I never made an appointment with them. I absolutely hate it when people are dishonest. I luckily had an appointment card that she had written out for me which contradicted what she said. Unfortunately, there was really no decent resolution. If someone had been contrite, I wouldn't have been so annoyed but I find it infuriating when someone is dishonest.
