We used Annie's Nannies for a family wedding in Charleston and were so pleased! My 16 month old was the ring bearer and both my husband and I in the bridal party, so the thought of trying to wrangle him through the events and dinner did not seem plausible. It was a stressful day coupled by him not feeling well and not on the greatest sleep schedule since traveling. The second our sitter walked in she immediately took over, changing him, keeping him occupied, etc so I could get ready. She walked him around the venue while we were doing pictures and brought him back when he needed to be in them. After the ceremony she whisked him off to the bridal suite and put him to sleep. It allowed us to enjoy the wedding while also having him still be a part of it. They also supplied the pack and play and toys as we had traveled from Boston and did not have those things with us. read more

We used Annie's Nannies for our summer vacation babysitting needs. They provided 3 caretakers to our rental home to watch and help with our 6 week old twins. They were a lifesaver. The care we received was top notch and we really enjoyed working with them. They allowed us to enjoy our beach vacation and really made feeding infant twins as smooth as possible. This is the first time I am writing a review on Yelp. Because we are dealing with childcare and the lives of babies and young children, I felt the need to inform other parents in the area about our horrible experience. I met with Annies daughter about our needs and was initially impressed. After paying a $150 fee (which I am now disputing), I was shocked and angered at the low level of professionalism this company operates on. I have three children, 3 and under. This is not an easy job to fill. I was assured that Annies had several candidates that would be able to handle the position. I had already had several very negative experiences with other services and expressed all my concerns to the owner. The first woman that came to my house was an absolute lunatic-unprofessional and all over the place. Thankfully I was home and able to keep an eye on what was going on. She left my kids unattended in the backyard with an inflatable pool (a big one-not that it matters). I looked out the window to find one of my children going head first into the water. She also was screaming at my kids so loudly, a neighbor actually heard and texted me to let me know. I had to ask this woman to leave my house-yet was still asked to pay her for her time. The owner has admitted herself, this person was not capable of caring for my children (yet I still had to pay her???). We then had a second person come who was supposed to be "amazing". She showed up late-only to tell me she had no childcare of her own and would have to leave after an hour. She spent the entire time on her phone texting and not watching my kids-again, I was thankfully home. I tried to end this business relationship, as it was crystal clear the people working for this company are totally incompetent, in a quick and simple way by asking for a refund and agreeing to part ways. I was initially told I would have a refund, only to receive a total BS email from the owner a week later as to why they would not issue me a refund, but I could get a $50 for future services. In addition, she refused to take any responsibility for the stress and horrible experiences we endured for the few days we tried their service. Horrible business. Do not use this company. Be warned. As I said to the owner in my email, I am so thankful for social media and online reviews. read more

I would've preferred my children to be put asleep at 9pm when I asked them to instead of the full-on chaos dance party at 857pm. But they made sure to point out that the laundry was folded (never asked them to do laundry) and the dishwasher was turned on. We used Annie's Nannies babysitting services on New Year's Eve, and it could not have gone better! We booked about 3 weeks in advance and received prompt email responses to our request - even on the weekend. We asked for a babysitter for 4 children (from 3 families) - ages 10 months to 10 years. The babysitter was on time, completely capable, and even brought a fun art project - the older kids made their own New Year's Eve ball and did their own countdown and ball drop! We were staying at the Belmond Charleston Hotel and needed a babysitter at the very last minute. it was late when we called, but Annie's Nannies returned our call promtply. Our babysitter arrived on time, was very accomodating and friendly. I felt very comfortable leaving my preccious cargo with her. I very much appreciate this company's ability to provide services on short notice. We came to Charleston with our 3 children for a wedding. This service (recommended to us by our hotel) made our weekend a completely different experience! We were able to have family time during the day and then leave our children at the hotel with the nanny while we went to dinner and the wedding. The kids had fun; we had fun! Rates were reasonable at $16/hr for 3 kids + $25 placement fee. We were able to request a sitter just a few hours before we needed one, no problem. I would definitely recommend this service to people with kids traveling from out of town who want to have some adult-only time. read more

I spoke with the sitter on the phone before our arrival and we texted asl well. She babysat for our 4 year old son at the hotel. She was amazing and our son had a great time with her. I have created an account to communicate our family's incredibly poor interaction with this company. After paying a $200 initiation fee, we arranged to meet with 4 different potential nanny/babysitters. 3 of these providers did not show up at the arranged time or called at the last moment to cancel, and the 4th essentially read a book on her iPad once we had to intercede to help our crying baby. We have now called 9 consecutive days to discuss a refund without any response from the company. This is a shameful way to treat people. read more

I contacted Annie's Nannies for back-up child care for two weeks for my son, and was told I would receive info by email on available sitters to choose from within a few days. Those days passed and I didn't receive anything, so I called and left a voicemail in case there was an issue sending through the email. Never received a response to my call either, very strange. I have used this service three times and had very good experiences each time. The sitters called to introduce themselves prior to the sitting occasion. The sitters were professional, prompt, and followed instructions given to them regarding child care. The owner of the company made an appearance at 2 of the bookings, which I was impressed by. The kits you can rent are a lot of fun for the kids and provided entertainment and they were stuck in a hotel room with minimal activities available. This is my first time writing a review. Our experience was so negative that I wanted to share to help other parents avoid the same situation. I contacted Annie's Nannies to assist in finding a part-time Nanny. I met with the OWNER and paid the finding fee ($150), with the guarantee that I would be placed with a Nanny within my desired time-frame. It's a long story, but basically I received a list of just 2 candidates but not until Fri before the start date! I met with her almost a month prior to this. In addition, there were multiple unanswered phone calls and emails during this time-frame. The worst is, she finally emailed me a long apology telling me how the company had instituted many changes to correct the problems and told me she would refund my money ($150) THAT DAY by bringing a check to my house. Well, surprise surprise.... I never received the check and have never heard from her again despite multiple attempts of contacting her through emails, phone calls, and Facebook. I wonder how many people she has done this to. read more
